I haven't seen a ton of gameplay for Z yet. I should probably get on it. After 3 though it's had for me to get too excited about future NG projects. I got burned hard.

What's this about Inafune?

He's making a Ninja Gaiden game.

Or rather, Spark Unlimited is making a Ninja Gaiden game. And Inafune is helping. And so Is Team Ninja.

Wait, where have I heard this all before?

Seriously Shirow, just get Razors Edge at some point.

It pretty much fixed all of 3's problems.

And Yaiba is a far cry from the Disaster that Dm C.

It's not like they are trying make Yaiba the same character as Ryu like how Donte was supposed to be Dante.

And the first gameplay was shown in Pre alpha-anyhow.

All the games I linked where fusterclucks that got made by a bunch of different, sometimes international, companies throwing things together with miscommunication noted as a major actor in them failing to reach quality status. With Spark, Comcept and Team Ninja all working on the game at once it's at risk of failing for the same reason.

Although now that you mention it it does have similarly crude attempts at humor as DMC so there's that.

Still, I haven't seen as much of the gameplay as I need to.

I plan on getting Razor's Edge the same time I get Bayonetta 2: When I get a Wii U. For Bayonetta 2.

The xbox and PS 3 versions have the DLC from the Wii-u Versions on the disc, if you don't want to bother doing so with the Wii-u version.

Also, get The Wonderful 101, too.

[up][up]Team Ninja wasn't responsible for that game-that-must-not-be-named sucking. That was all the writing of the director. And really, Japanese companies have their shit together more so than Western ones when it comes to collaboration projects. You have nothing to fear.

I just watched some Yaiba gameplay… while it looks kind of cool in its own way, it's certainly as far as a Ninja Gaiden as you can get. It's like they took every element of the series and said "okay, let's do the opposite". It looked more like Lollipop Chainsaw to me. ò.Ô I mean, a zombie driving a steamroller… and telling its mate to get out of the way… what. the. fuck.

If I'm not mistaken, that game didn't even have Ninja Gaiden in its title initially, did it? That's some weird choice they made here… thank god it's not part of the main series…

Razor's Edge doesn't fix ALL of NG 3's problems. It's still NG 3, it still has derp-o-saur, Ryu is still worse than his NG 1/2 selves, story is still kind of dumb, steel on bone is still stupid, etc. It's an improvement but still NG 3.

The whole HUR HUR ZOMBIES is a turn off in itself. I'm sick of zombies, and people who think they're funny.

I think the steel on Bone is cool, and I feel the gameplay is much faster then the previous 2 games but whatever.

Besides, I don't mind the zombies, anyhow.

I'm totally cool with Yaiba like I'm totally cool with the new DMC. People should give new products some chance moar.

Also, I think some people are stuck in the mud that is 'Razor's Edge is Wii U exclusive'. It is NOT. I'm playing the PS 3 version

Same as usual.... Wing it.

Yaiba looks more like a Suda wannabe.

Considering that most japaanese Developers have goood relationships with one another, it's probably not surpising that Yaiba is suda like, as both Inafune and Suda worked together for Killer 7.

So calling Yaiba a Suda game wannabe is ignorance.

Except it's primarily being made by a western dev.

Maybe, but two Japanese development teams are overlooking it as opposed to just one like with spark unlimited's capcom collabs.

So I hear that you can Wall Run in this franchise — or at least, in Ninja Gaiden III: Razor's Edge with Ayane, since that's what my source said — and yet I find no trace of the trope in the franchise's article or its character subpage. Did the troper collective who played this game and/or wrote the articles in question somehow missed this obvious video-game trope?

Yup, the game has a Wall Run. Pretty muted in comparison to the crazy stuff you pull off elsewhere; usually just a short few steps. But it's been in there for awhile.

Classic Ninja moves get taken for granted.

…Back when Yaiba came out, I saw an interview where Hayashi said Ninja Gaiden 4 was in the tracks. That was like 2 years ago. Has there been any news, since then? surprised

So I've had been wondering lately; what would you guys say to Ryu embracing technology more in future games. Examples, nanite infusions, more advanced armor and weapons etc.

Some things that brought this up:

> Yaiba being a cyborg in Z and being more modern than Ryu.

> Ryu's action game rivals Bayonetta and Dante using more advanced weaponry in their games.

> Ryu losing to the hi-tech ninja Hiryu in Death Battle. If that isn't a sign that the times are leaving Ryu behind I don't know what is.

Just some food for thought.

I think that would kind of take away some of his appeal. The point of it kind of is that he's a dude that can deflect bullets with a sword and kill tanks with a bow.

Since one of Ryu's ancestors appeared in Nioh, I think they might fuse the two IP's closer together.

Muggles do it better. Or at least just as well. I don't know with how a lot of fantasy based stories are integrating science into their stories as well I feel Ryu relying on only magic can feel a bit dated.

Hell, Raiden from MSG got better once he became a tech ninja.
