Anyone got any decent online horror games they could recommend? For some reason I have an urge to play something that terrifies me appropriately.

...not that any humble horror game could ever scare me, of course.

The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is Yume Nikki.

If you're willing to shell out $10, Penumbra is good. If not, there's a demo for the "sequel" Amnesia The Dark Descent.

The Bright In The Screen is a personal favourite of mine.

Yume Nikki is not exactly horror (nor is it online - it's downloadable freeware), but it is very intimately psychological and surreal.

Knytt Stories has the stories The Machine, A Strange Dream, and An Underwater Adventure, all of which have horror elements in places but especially An Underwater Adventure. There's also It Waits, which is a fanmade story by Eric Colossal which you can search for here.

You may also enjoy Gretel And Hansel, Closure, or (a bit more loosely) The Majesty Of Colors.

Oh, and Trilbys Notes. (You don't really need to play any of the other games in the series.)

Slender's good, but only if you're familiar with the mythology of the Slender Man. If you aren't, you'll just be saying "Wait, what?" when you die.

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great

Can I put a horror ROM hack here? If so, this'll count: http://shc.sonicresearch.org/index.php/entry/1

It's a pretty creative idea for a ROM hack like this. It's playable only upto Labyrinth Zone though...
