My understanding of that bit was that the amount of energy Tiki had already gathered from the ley lines wasn't enough to actually accomplish Adam's goal, but was enough that it could be used to catalyze the process of drawing energy from the stars.
Aside from from having backing of the Pavarian Illuminati, the soldiers in episode 1 didn't have any powers.
There's also the fact that Hibiki is the one who talks it out with her foes. There's never been an indication that the others do, too.
On the other hand, since seasons 4 and 5 were announced Simultaneously, I have a feeling it may be deliberate.
Watch SymphogearThat was one hell of an episode.
The whole "Gungnir can kill gods" thing felt a bit too convenient, but I guess it doesn't really matter now
Looks like Dainsleif is involved in whatever just happened?
I was actually expecting it to be that since the Curse of Balal is 'divine' in origin, that which can defeat the Curse can defeat Gods. Thus, Hibiki's ability to beat people into getting along despite the Curse preventing them from getting along is a god-slaying ability.
Gungnir actually has killed gods in Norse lore, despite what the series is saying otherwise.
Watch SymphogearYeah, but that's when being wielded by a god. Its not the weapon itself that's a godslayer, its the wielder who is a godslayer.
@1454 ...Wait what
"Yup. That tasted purple."The God essence Adam wanted is now in Hibiki, and its cocooned her.
Watch SymphogearYeah, I wanna see where this goes. All the Symphogear (and Saint Germain) vs Divine!Hibiki sounds epic.
Ep 12
Well, Hibiki wasn't the final boss. But Donald Trump expy nearly nuked Japan and the pavarian alchemists sacrificed themselves for good this time to stop it (With one of the bests songs int he franchise, imo) and Adam freaks out when's Hibiki kills his god arm. But there's still one ep left.
Watch SymphogearUnless we've got something like the Freemasons on our hands, I don't think that guy was supposed to be American. America just helped out the heroes with the godslayer info, and the whole thing about an "age of true divinity" sounded super un-American. I think it's actually supposed to be some super old western European country, such as the UK.
So that was a thing
Divine Hibiki was kind of neat but I'm not sure what the point was
Cagliostro and Prelati only faked their deaths! Somehow. Then all of the alchemists die. Ehhhhhhhh
No, Val Verde gave them the godslayer info. America was pushing to nuke Hibiki. And then did try to nuke Hibiki.

What's precedent ever done for us?*points to the two-week spoiler rule*
"Yup. That tasted purple."It's interesting that the amount of 'new guys' kind of dwindle after each seasons.
Season 1: Well it's a starting season, so I guess it has to establish the core cast, though only one full-on newcomer: Chris.
Season 2: Three whoopin' newcomers: Maria, Kirika and Shirabe.
Season 3: Only 1 newcomer: Elfnein.
Season 4: Nope. No newcomer.
No, they got the Godslayer info from a friend of one of the American astronauts the trio rescued in the first scene of GX. The info came from wherever that airplane that Kirika and Shirabe helped take off landed.
Well yeah, cast bloat is a problem. They'd really have to start bumping people off if they want new ones.
Hmm, wait, was this the last episode?
Damn, Adam Weishaupt is a riot. "The divine power... is in my hand!" "Your god-slaying power just isn't fair!" And how his plans are botched by the annoying robot girl being clingy.
The song of the alchemists might be one of my favorites in this series.
nope, 13.
Surprised they didn't need X-drive to win. Although...
Because AXZ and season 5 were announced at the same time, the ending of the next episode will lead more directly to the next season then previous ones.

Watch SymphogearWhen seasons 4 and 5 were announced simultaneously, I was hoping that they'd use it as an opportunity to have a single story that lasts two seasons, split cour style, so that they could give each member of the cast proper development.
Oh, cool, I guess we're gonna see more of Adam's stupidity then.
So basically:
It was pretty surprising how they didn't actually use X-Drive in the final battle this time, I was expecting them to pull out some other excuse for it. Also Gold Saint Hibiki was great.
Also as predicted the post-credits scene potentially sets up S5 in a big way: The reason why Hibiki was able to act as a vessel for the divine power was because she was purified by the Shenshou Jing all the way back in G, which also apparently means that she was freed from the Curse of Balal in the process; this also apparently explains her extremely high compatibility with the Gungnir sacrist proper. However, there was one other person who was purified by the Shenshou Jing...
Fight for something, even if its meaningless.
The dead alchemists thing stood out to me a lot more since the season started with a big sequence where our heroes went out of their way to avoid killing the people that were trying to kill them
It might have had the same conditions for setting it up? To be honest I don't really understand what happened there
