I brought it up because in the opening it has that scene with Chris's face having the thorny vines on it followed by solomon's cane floating around.

Idk it seems like more than just a little nod to the previous season. Considering Ver has the cane now and is clearly up to something.

Yeah, I have to agree. The new opening featured Chris a lot. Either the creators of Symphogear are recognizing Chris's Ensemble Darkhorse status or she'll have a lot of plot-relevant screentime.

As for Dr. Ver, I have a theory that he may have been among the group doing inhuman experiments on the potential relic users. If he's also Chris's long-lost father/brother/uncle/whatever, that just makes the entire scenario more screwed up.

Speaking of relic users, was it ever denied that relic users have to be female? What are the chances of some Sympho-guys?

I don't think it was ever specified that Gear users have to be female. But I doubt we'll meet a Sympho-guy anyway. Unless it's the crazy scientist dude.

And, , when did Hibiki mention a mother and grandmother? I remember Miku mentioning her grandmother as having just died in the first episode of S1, but never Hibiki.

I don't remember the exact episode, but she was talking to Miku about Lydian's tuition or something and brought them both up.

I just started watching this series's first season.

I blame credit fourteenwings and That Human for this.

Huh. I think I remember Hibiki mentioning a grandmother. I'll have to re-watch season 1. Season 2 will probably clarify Bikkie's home life.

So, Maria is Fine. Which is odd, since they've been setting her up as an Anti-Villain, but Fine was a horrible person

Also, did they pull a Code Geass opening?

I've been patrolling the trope pages for the show and making spoilers when appropriate, so you may want to tread carefully.

I must say that Synchrogazer is extremely catchy.

Indeed, but I prefer Ayahi Takagaki's rock. A new song for Chris in the episode as well.

It's really hard to deny the fact that there are really good songs in this anime.

Also, don't go onto the Characters page since those have key spoilers and are commonly updated with them. Otherwise, the forum has been nice for spoilers, if you have the option on.

Also, Kanade's C minor song (I forgot the name but I know it's in C minor) is awesome. But not quite as awesome as Synchrogazer.

Well be prepared for the infamous Inverse animation bump from episode 3 onward.

until the DVD and blu-ray release, this series is Notorious for it's immense amounts of offmodel and slashed in half budget.

Chris is adorable.

Best character.

There was also a major tone shift about a fourth of the way in the first season as well.

In a way, it amusingly enough is similar to Suite Pretty Cure's own tone shift, now that I think about it.

I probably won't know what you mean by animation bump, but then again, I didn't see much of a problem with Fresh Pretty Cure either when a few other people were saying that its animation is crap.

Most of the problems with the first season are unlikely to crop up in this one. Different director, the writer knows what he's getting into, probably not going to suddenly switch studios...

The only possible problem the first season has so far (3 eps in) is the scientist lady getting on my nerves.

Well I'm actually intrigued if Maria is Fine,or just a bluff of the crazy doctor, also that godzilla wanabe seems to weaken the coordination between girls and runics, nasty weapon there
