The jaws/chins are what stick out most. Perspective is wrong and just looks incredibly awkward. And what's with Elfert's mouth?

Seriously compare to X's◊ and you'd swear the former came before the latter.

While his works have always had varying degrees of quality and anatomy issues his good stuff tends to look really good and Xrd's kind of falls on the lower side of the scale.

The only one on the Xrd cover I'd say seems off is Sin, and only very slightly, everything else looks fine.

I think we've set our standards too low for game cover artwork. This is no doubt one of the worst covers I've seen from an ASW game.

To each their own man, my standards haven't changed at all. It really doesn't look too different from Daisuske's other works.

Gonna kiiiiiinda have to jump in the "this box art ain't great" department. The formatting is just all over the place. The things that bother me the most are Sin's and Ky's arms. Why are they separate from their owners?

So according to a new timeline from Xrd's website, the entire XX series is arguably no longer canon.

Bad move IMHO considering that's when GG was at its peak.

Well not exactly, but rather the events aren't acknowledge. Can't blame them, nothing of any real importance took place in X2 honestly.

But XX is where the I-No, Slayer, and the PWAB showed up, Sol and Ky's rivalry was settled, and Ky and Dizzy's relationship started, it'd be odd to have those events swept under the rug.

Well I think only certain events are ignored; i.e. everything about Sol, Ky, and Dizzy is acknowledged and obviously I-No and Slayer are considering they're in Xrd already.

The PWAB were pretty much booted out as well in favor of the Senate. Can't have two evil government entities in the series, can we?

But the problem is that Justice is back, but may be another Crow-made clone, though I guess in between games, Venom did take them out, as one ending in one of the XX games suggested.

Just handwave it as the Senate using their revival technique on her. They did it for Zato, so they may have done it for Justice.

All this backtracking and retconning sounds like a bad idea honestly. It's already bad enough the whole outrage thing was never fully fleshed out.

I thought the implications were that the Senate were The Man Behind the Man in regards to the PWAB.

Maybe they just skimmed over the XX details, instead of retconning them?

Who knows? We won't know for sure until Xrd comes out.

Anyway, an Aksys employee went on NeoGAF to explain why the box art was changed. Turns out that it's the ESRB's fault, and that other instances of the artwork will be unedited.

So his weapons are Makoto's cross tonfas Up To Eleven (okay, I am guessing those are cross-shaped blades, but still).

From the looks of it, yeah, I'm guessing bladed versions of Makoto's tonfas. Like, you can flip it over and use it as a regular sword.
