welp, it looks like loyalty is for losers. I'm very upset that Lebron James is gonna get his first ring that he doesn't deserve. he could have helped his other Cavalier teammates to improve their performance while he was there but no, he decided to take the easy way out.

[up] Don't forget he had help from the referees.

Also, Olympic scenario? Lebron and Wade act like punks and get their arms broken and knees blown out by some angry Europeans.

So Bosh played with my emotions, and gets away with it by being the most liked of the Big 3 and wins a championship.

my profile pic says it all.

I felt bad for Durant. It's hard to look at that, really.

I mean, dammit. sad

Although he was somewhat a non-factor in the Finals at some point, he did his best.

And even with the luxury tax, the Thunder should be in competition next year.

Well, I try not to be too vocal of a hater, but I'm not gonna let Heat fans gloat without retaliation. So, as the thread maker, I'm going to have the mods lock this thread.

Just kidding. Seriously though, I wrote off this season a while ago, now to look forward to the next one, when the Bulls will win their 7th.

It's still really bad to wish injury on someone, even if you don't like them. You look much worse by comparison, for one.

[up] Sure, and let's say Rondo getting his arm broken last year was a convenient accident.

There's always next season for karma to rear up and pay that back. With interest.

[up] [up]I'm a Heat fan, and I'm not gloating. I wanted Le Bron to het his, and now I'm rooting for Durant to get his, versus Le Bron again.

[up] I've put up with you before, but I've had it. Can somebody please get a mod to get him to calm down?

You know Seattle is ecstatic about this.

[up] Can't Stern just up and move the Kings to Seattle already? Will solve an astronomical amount of problems (California has four teams, moving one wouldn't be that bad).

And I'll just bide my time until the universe unfolds as it should, so I'll stay silent about that for now. grin

The worst-case scenario just happened. F**k.

In order of decreasing "worst-ness", if these teams won the championship:

  1. Miami Cheat
  2. Oklahoma City Blunder
  3. San Antonio Spurts
  4. Los Angeles Fakers
  5. Los Angeles Flippers
  6. Boston Septics
  7. Denver Thuggets
  8. New York Bricks
  9. Memphis Teddy Bears
=======(this line means that they've passed the threshold of needing such kind of nicknames)
  1. Orlando Magic
  2. Indiana Pacers
  3. Utah Jazz
  4. Atlanta Hawks
  5. Chicago Bulls
  6. Philadelphia 76ers
  7. Dallas Mavericks

So once the matchups for the Conference Finals were decided, I was assured of a worst-case, at worst, obviously, and a worse-case, at "best."

Wow, discussion in this page somehow manages to be worse than /sp/. I think Le Bron had a great postseason and role players in Miami( Battier, Chalmers and Miller in game 5) really helped the big three. They deserved, like Mavericks did last year, or Lakers in 2010. Claiming Miami cheat doesn't really matter because every sport competition or game involves a referee is rigged according to the fans, so does every draft. I think next year will be more competitive and fun considering Thunder and Clippers squad will mature and Rose will hopefully return from his injury. Spurs will be back if they can resign their free agents(Green, Diaw, Neal, Blair)

But Duncan and co. will be even older.

It's been years, and Carmelo doesn't even play for them anymore, but "Denver Thuggets" remains one of my favorite detractor nicknames.

Was that a GAC original?

"Goofballs" sounds better for Denver, because they have JaVale McGee on their roster.

And I am sick of the bandwagoners back here cheering for the (C)Heat just because their "coach" is half-Filipino. Nauseating.

Had the Heat lost, damn near everyone would be calling for Spoelstra to be fired. He isn't exactly well liked, by the average fan (not that the non-bandwagoners like anyone on the heat anyway) or even by some of his team (you just know that Wade/Spoelstra thing isn't over).

[up][up][up] Actually, they do. Some even hold back their hate for Lebron and Wade just because they go all "Pinoy pride!" over Spolestra's ethnicity.

Anyway, the good thing about OKC losing is that Westbrook won't be wearing Bjork's swan suit to a press conference anytime soon.

Well rumor has it that the Raptors and not the Heat are frontrunners for Nash.

So maybe we'll be a 7th seed instead of an 8th seed next year grin

[up] What I do want the Raptors to do is maybe free up some cap space, keep their better-performing guys, trade for / get a few veteran free agents and hopefully win enough games for a playoff spot.

Oh, and get Scalabrine.

You wish you could get our White Mamba.

I really hope Deng doesn't get traded. I like him, and I think if we're healthy we (the Bulls) can win the championship next year.

As for the other "we", I hope my Pistons continue their surprising turnaround from the middle of the season and make it back into playoff contention. It still feels kind of odd Joe Dumars might be safe for now. Nothing against the guy, but he hasn't made a good move in a while. There have been some stinkers, and the last move that has seemed great even in hindsight was right before the '04 trade deadline.
