As I understand it,that is the style of the comic, which in this case is Homestuck.
New theme music also a boxSupport replacement pic. And I agree about the pothole, it's not gonna make sense to anyone outside the random.
I have no problems with the current image.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
Poor quality means it's blurry or it has compression artifacts. That is a deliberate style.
Better suggestions are always welcome, of course. But the current image isn't bad.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I do sort of like the MLP one better just because the girl is more obviously a girl, but that's a minor thing really.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI have no problems with the current image.
I think either picture works. In the case of the current one, it's Stylistic Suck; Homestuck periodically switches to sribbles for comedic effect.
Reaction Image RepositoryAn actual improvement would be an image that communicates the expectation that girls (all girls) like ponies. Not another picture of a girl hugging a pony.
"I don't like the art style" is not a good reason to pull an image. It wouldn't matter if it is drawn by a lazy child.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. In any case, the My Little Pony one will do. And it is from a reasonably well-known source, too.

That's just, like, your opinion, man.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. My only problem with the current image is that I can't tell the human is a girl. That's rather significant to the trope. The pony is obviously a girl because of the bow, but I can't tell a gender at all on the human.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickBoys aren't usually depicted wearing that sort of Hair Decoration or bow lips. Still, another picture of a human (more clearly female or not) hugging a pony is not an improvement.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I would say that scribbling, even for stylistic suck, should be for tropes where it makes sense.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. It is not Stylistic Suck. That is intentionally poor quality. It is just stylistic.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Still scribbling.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I have heard Guernica described as scribbling.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Well I honestly never knew of the word "Guernica" before. I'm looking it up.
EDIT: I was referring to the trope picture, and I don't see that word meaning an art style.

Rephrase:
"Still scribbling."
No it's not.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I'm unable to tell that the human has hair decoration even now that you mention it. Five minutes of staring have kind of figured out that the mouth has lips but I'm not sure I'd call them bow lips. They look more like fangs to me.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickLike others have said, it's more stylistic choice than "just scribbles".
I'm fine with the current image.
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.I went ahead and changed the pothole
It may be a stylistic choice, but it's a stylistic choice that makes the trope harder to see in the image. That's the issue.

This looks it was either drawn lazily or drawn by a child. Or drawn lazily by a child.
I am not sure what to suggest for an alternative, but I would rather it have no image at all than have this for its image.
(On a sidenote, I think a better pothole for "guy who likes ponies," if we are to use any, would be Real Men Wear Pink. I like MLP:FIM as well, but there is no sense potholing to a specific work, especially when the ponies from it look nothing like real ponies.)
