Applelight, to be honest I think you need to step back and consider the things you are proposing. I know that things change as the creative process moves along, but i think you are a little to overeager to change things that I don't think need to be changed.

On a different subject I figured Moonbeam actually would get fired from his job in Canterlot, probably because he complained about the assignments he was given (I imagine that any newspaper in that city is more focused on social things then anything else), and him "sticking his nose where it doesn't belong" (if he still has a bit of a paranoid conspiracy theorist streak he problem got in trouble for tracking down both imagined, and real crimes nobles participated in).

^ Good point - Moonbeam might be a bit more sociable than Twilight, but I'd imagine that he would be bored to tears doing up a column on celebrity-flavor-of-the-month.

They could give him a referral and the Hoofington agency picks him up. Probably fits in better there anyway, so everypony wins.

A darker angle to take with that is that his conspiratorial theories that he posts up in the paper are correct, and he ended up attracting ...unwanted attention to the paper in Canterlot.

I hear what you're saying Mio.

Also, look what my good friend Mousa the 14 drew for me.

A cookie to the person who works out which one of the foils that is. grin

Military-style coat (Smokescreen), although it isn't buttoned and is worn informally (Moonbeam). Muscular (Big Rig or Pig Iron). Hint of a smile (Chuckles).

Hard to tell, honestly. I guess I'll take a stab at it and stick with Moonbeam.

[up][up][up]I'm going to say Pig Iron.

[up][up][up][up]I expect it will be combination of him being a bit to paranoid and overzealous, and him finding out about the things that Canterlot high society would rather you not know about.

So, I'm working on my clock punk inventor OC, Pendulum.

First of all, how does the name sound?

Second of all, he's not just an engineer. He's an aspiring Chronomancer....or time master. He's only just started his journey to understand the science of time, but it gives him some potential power none the less.

One of his inventions is a very crude Chronoscope that acts as his 'crystal ball'. It resembles a massive, chunky old television. It's silent, the picture is black and white and it only shows brief clips of the time, but it can give him some insight into the near past or future.

Sound good? And does anyone have any other ideas?

Okay, I've hit a wall regarding the rise and fall of Sultan Hazred: how long would you say Equestria's civil war and Luna's betrayal lasted? Because I'm trying to make Hazred's reign concurrent with that.

I think Luna's betrayal lasted a relatively long amount of time to what most people think. Maybe about a year? Depends where you start it from.

(possible end-game scene - their amplification chamber repaired, the Order uses it, only to find out that it's much too late for them. Luna-centric scene, although it would merge immediately into theh Foils. See where it takes you.)

The Green Room. Such an innocent sounding descriptor, ambiguous, harmless. It was ornately decorated with a fine lattice, etched inlays of gold and silver running haphazardly over virtually every single surface of the curved walls, the domed ceiling, and the circular floor. Bulwark noted that the entire room took on the shape of a half-sphere. But as she approached the center of the room, marked by a small recess in the floor, she felt curiously invigorated.

"You feel it now, don't you?" the Regent said, more of a statement than a question.

She did not answer, but only smiled. The Regent stepped down into the recess and motioned her to stop.

"The effect is lessened with two in the center, so you'll have to come no closer. Lest I have some unwanted interference."

"I'm curious as to why you brought me in here at all, Sir."

"To show you the results of your handiwork. The notes you obtained from Professor Carinae were most useful, and we've managed to effect repairs to some of the gem-work and lattices. So, you have my heartfelt gratitude."

She was about to reply, but he shut his eyes and concentrated. His horn glowing briefly, she watched the lattices all around the room begin to glow. He smiled, evidently enjoying the restored functionality of the room, but after a few moments, his eyes widened in horror and the chamber fell dark once more. She watched his face pale and his knees begin to buckle. Bulwark rushed to his side immediately.

"What is it, Sir? Is something wrong? What did you see?" she queried.

Finally, he turned his horrified face towards her and whispered:

"She knows...!"

Bulwark backpedaled. Even without a name, it could not have been more obvious Who he was talking about.

"How? We have been extraordinarily careful in our dealings-"

"Did he test the chamber? Did Carinae have access to this room after you obtained his notes?"

"It was necessary, he said, for him to determine-"

"You stupid, ignorant foal!" he roared. "It would've been pathetically easy for him to send out a telepathic message with this room, even in it's unrepaired state! We're ruined. Utterly ruined. This will set us back decades. Possibly more. Assuredly, none of us on the Council now will live to see it come to fruition..."

It was then that he noticed something amiss with Bulwark. Her eyes were the wrong color, instead of gray, they were purple. And then he realized how She knew.

The look on his face gave 'Bulwark' all the evidence that She needed, and Princess Luna morphed back into Her normal form. The Regent cowered.

"My poor nephew. How the mighty has fallen, cut down to the ground, a victim of his own hubris. Fear not, Steel Bulwark is resting comfortably in her quarters. Thou would not be well-served by calling for your guards, as they have been... dealt with."

"And the others?"

"Under custody. Sister hand-picked the Guard detachment to breach your sanctum on My signal, along with my Knights."

"And you get to detain me, is that it?"

"No. Celestia Herself is en-route to take you into custody."

"I'd rather die than be taken prisoner. I'm confident you will find the others of a similar mindset." He edged back towards the recess in the floor. The power that the room afforded him, it might be enough to escape capture...

Her telekinetic stranglehold whipped him clear of the center of the room with but a glancing thought from Her.

"IF THOU WISHED TO PLAY THE BETRAYAL AND SUBTERFUGE GAME, KNOW THEN THAT IT IS I THAT WROTE THE BOOK ON IT." She left him in mid-air as She stepped into the center.

At once, the chamber responded. It was familiar to Her - She had used such chambers before, when they were legal and permitted. Her own downfall led directly to their ban. Again, as before, the siren call of the amplified power called out to Her. But it did not find jealousy in Her heart to cling to, and the call went unanswered - for the time being. Turning Her attention to more utilitarian uses, She reached out with ease and linked minds with Her Knights, bidding them to hurry.

Please hurry. The chamber seems to have a will of its own.

Then, a quick link with Her Sister.

All is secure. We must destroy this chamber once the subversive ones have been taken into custody. The access to such power must not be permitted to exist.

[up][up]Yeah, that does look about right. Though to be honest I still envision him being overall less silly then Pinkie, despite his quirks.

[up]I have to be honest I really don't like this confrontation. I know that the Order is made up of normal ponies, but this segment really seems to undermine any potential threat they might posses if they can be undone so easily. Well, at least that is just my opinion.

By the by, does anyone know what would be a good name for a business tycoon pony (and next member of the council of governors)?

I decided to finally make a Wiki so I can organise my thought on the Globetrotter-verse. Here is the page for Marabia. Please don't edit it, but feel free to make suggestions in the talk page.

It's mainly to organise my thoughts, which have been floating around since January. I figured that if I started writing a fanfic, I needed to just put all my thoughts down somewhere.

I was considering a wiki earlier, but I felt like that might be a little..conceited? That, and difficult (I'm horrid with webpage management). Still, I have enough headcanon to fill up a wiki nicely...tongue

EDIT: not calling anyone else conceited, that is not what I meant at all.

Anyways, back to my history for just a sec, sorry if I'm boring you all.

After the Battle of Skirling Pass, the ensuing war became a nightmare for the Griffons. They were unprepared for the combined assault by all the kingdoms, having perceived the pony alliance as more of a non-aggression pact/trade-agreement like their own alliances. With their primary Germanean forces smashed and routed, and with their outposts in Prance cut off, starving, and falling one by one, and with a war up North they were trying to finish tying them up, things were not looking good. The forces of Manehattan and Canterlot were going straight for the Griffon settlements along the more developed areas of Germaney, striking with devastating force and what seemed to be little care for the destruction they caused- something that was rare in Griffonic war. There was also a flood of Southern stockpiled supplies Northward to the Germane herds, who moved as an entire nation to flood into the Griffon cities, with every able-bodied Mare and Stallion armed and taking part in the assault. With two armies and an entire mobile herd at their gates, the Griffons quickly pulled their forces from the North, and called upon the Meat Barons for support. The Barons, uninterested in the war and resentful of Heimdaller authority, simply kept to themselves and occupied the Muskhoove settlements mentioned earlier. The reinforcements, however, proved rather effective, and soon slowed the lightning-fast pony offensive to a grinding halt. The Eastern armies to were slowed as they tried to bash heads with the fresh and dug-in Barons. However, even with that lukewarm success, the Heimdaller were astonished- what had happened to their Pegasus allies, who they had relied upon to occupy Canterlot and Manehattan should a war break out?

The answer is simple: the Pegasi had fallen to internal conflict. The Red Council of the Unicorns had foreseen the problem the posed, and had done two things: Signed an announcement of forgiveness (forgiving the Pegasi of all perceived crimes and allowing them to legally trade and immigrate in Red Council land), and made promises of tribute (giving the tribes much-needed food in return for nuetrality in the coming war). The Soars had accepted this agreement, happily taking the food, while the Flares had wanted to follow true to their alliance and assist the Griffons. The two had battled for some time, and, as the land war ground to a halt, the Griffonic and Equstrian governments began to send in supplies to their respective side. Neither side got all that much- the Griffons had to sneak through miles and miles of Equestrian territory and were limited in the amounts they could deliver, while the Equestrian government sent only enough to keep the war going- they didn't particularly want either side to win, as they feared a unified government from either side might turn on them.

To be continued
