Well it seems you have Big Rig down, and I don't have much ideas for Pig Iron, so let me see what I can suggest.

I agree the Librarian that Moonbeam would probably only wear glasses when he is really focused, or perhaps as some sort of Let's Get Dangerous! type gesture.

The freckles are a nice touch with Chuckles, I also see him going around in a Bowler Hat sometimes, particularly when preforming. He should probably look a little leaner and smaller thwn your average earth pony, to emphasize his dexterity.

As I have said before I imagine SS being bigger and more muscular then your average Pegasi, who are traditionally more lean and aero-dynamic. Essentially I see him looking a little more like earth pony then other Pegasi (like to think that his father is an Earth Pony, but that is just me).

Check Up would probably look more like your average Pegasus. I envision him always wearing his coat to cover up his bad wings, and I also imagine him with a beard to make him seem older and more world-weary.

How about a poytail for Pig Iron?

So you think Smokes dad should be an EP customs officer working out of the big red brick building down by the port? I think so too. It's just too much of a nice idea and great world building piece. And how big we talking? Guard sized? I think that could work...that way him and BR are the two big guys of the group.

And the general concenus is...Moon should only wear glasses some of the time? OK. That means he could do Glasses pulling a lot...which is lampshaded a lot.

I'm trying to make contrasts between the two members of each species. In terms of both personality and appearance.

Take Moon and Pig. Moon is academic and driven, and at times frantic. He's also a bit unkept looking, and almost 100% asexual. Pig by contrast is a bit book dumb, very easy going and totally laid back. However, he endeavers to look his best whenever possible (in other words, very nice mane cut that he combs a lot), and has mares on his mind a lot.

And that reminds me...these days I'm focusing less on Pigs hygiene (which can be poor...mostly things like eating food he shouldn't be) and more on his vulgarisms.

I've always thought Pig should look at home in mad men myself.

Actually, that's only when he taps into his roots to act classy, if that makes sense?

Pig is a little bit of Brando from The Wild One, a little bit of The Fonz...a pinch of Sinatra and Dean Martin...James Dean too...

Guard size sounds about right. Even then SS would probably be short then the taller Earth Ponies. Also I'm glad you like my suggestions about his father. I think in contrast to how the Pegasi in the Mane Six don't see there families very often, in the Other Six the Pegasi's families will probably be the ones they interact with the most.

I think it is good idea that your moving away from Pig Iron being a slob. It doesn't quite brooklyn speaking vulgar, semi-artsy, lady' man that we are going with. Unless I got that wrong. Which I think I may have.

I also have an idea for a zebra based story. It is also kind of discrimination based like Bridle Gossip, but goes in a very different direction.

I was thinking that Hoofington being a bigger city would probably have a small community of Zebra in it already. The story would revolve around a zebra merchant who sold exotic food and herbal remedies from his homeland. When a bad batch of his product causes some ponies to become sick, suspicions begin to mount.

From then on it would probably become something like The Crucible with a little over the top Red Scare parody humor a la Dr Strangelove.

Also I'm glad you like my suggestion about SS and CU families. We would probably see SS family the most since both his mother and father still live in Hoofington, he siblings might come to visit as well. As for CU family, I'm not sure yet but his mother lives in Hoofington and one of his cousins works for a tour company.

You can if you want, but we can't guarantee if anyone is willing to discuss with you.

Love the story! Could make a parody of Mc Carthy. This is just the kind of thing they should be involved in. Who's going to be in it?

I'm not certain. I would say Moonbeam, Smoke Screen, and maybe Smoke Screen's father are likely suspects. Maybe Big Rig to.

Excellent. BR makes total sense to include. If theres a Zebra community you can bet he'd be happy to visit it.

What's the specifics of the story, if you've got any.

No specifics yet. I do want it to be somewhat of a comedy, and there will be obligatory references to "precious bodily fluids" by the bigoted ponies, but beyond that I don't really have much.

Btw, speaking of family...

What are the families like again?

Moon has a lot of siblings...BR has family back home which he hardly ever sees now, and his fiancé and her family...Smoke has his parents and sibling...check has his mom...Pig has his family back in Manehattan...and Chuck is an orphan.

Say, speaking of B Rs fiancé Maple Syrup...what about subverting the old in laws thing by giving her a mother/grandmother who actually adores Big, but rides her instead?

That sounds about right.

Only SS and CU family actually live in Hoofington. MB youngest brother eventually comes to live with him in Hoofington.

I think that kind of reversal would actually work well with MS and BR. I actually have seen some of that in real life. Also, if the two even them do tie the knot it would probably be near the end of the story, whenever that may be.

On a different subject you think Maple Syrup's family should be the ones with the cajun accents?

You've raised some interesting points Mio.

First off...who are Hoofington natives?

There's Maples family...maybe Smoke's family too (maybe he's in a situation similar to Pound Cake? A Pegasi born to Earthie parents?)

Anyway, the natives should totally have 'the accent'.

Actually in my head SS has a Pegasus mother and Earth Pony father, and his parents settled in Hoofington later (his father might be a native though).

Check Up's family on the other hoof is from Hoofington mostly. So he may have an accent, though perhaps not as strong.

Oh ok. Actually that's great, because now...Check can speak in a refined Cajun drawl like I've always wanted.

Didn't we agree that Maple Syrup's grndparents were from Pony!Canada?

He something to think about, how to make Celestia not suck and be important to plot but not into other extreme and make her to sueish?

Because I'm afraid if I write something Celestia in this may end like this.

I suggest just following what history you have for her, and then think about the psychological effects that would have on what you imagine her personality would be like. I find that helps mold her into a pony that is neither tyrannical nor sueish. Just forget about the other interpretations and make her however you feel she should or would be.

That's not this simple.

I worried that her action can be sueish. I want to show her to be same Magnificent Baster pony like in show even in darker setting, but I'm afraid that I make her to competent.
