Is the Boba Fett movie even confirmed to be happening? I know there were plans for one, but last I heard the only two anthology films that are confirmed are Rogue One and the untitled Han Solo movie.

Even if it is, it wouldn't be released until after Episode 9, so it's way too early to cast the role. I guess if he's the involved in the Han Solo movie maybe, but even then we don't have a young Han Solo cast.

My guess is that someone is trolling the anti-PC crowd, Michael B. Jordan's casting in his last major film did result in some...controversy from that crowd.

If they're trolling people, they're doing a piss poor job of it by ignoring the fact that Jango Fett (who Boba Fett is a clone of) is played by a Maori actor from New Zealand.

"Hurr hurr Boba Fett being played by a black actor is so weird" yeah, Boba Fett ain't a white guy either.

That might not be obvious to everyone though. I didn't know he was Maori until relatively recently.

[up][up]

The anti-PC crowd, or at least some of the more extreme and vocal elements of it (and thus the most viable targets for trolling), can be incredibly easy to offend. We are talking about the same group of people who got angry about Finn being a Stormtrooper, even though the story takes place 30-ish years after the Empire got the crap kicked out of it at Endor. So even if you assume that the Stormtroopers were still clones then (Rebels establishes they weren't of course, but not everyone's seen that), there's no reason to assume they'd have to be at the time of The Force Awakens.

Come to think of it, intentionally shaping the rumor so pro-diversity people wouldn't actually be all that thrilled by the idea might of been the icing on the cake to whoever cooked the story up. It's the kind of things I would do if I were an eviler person.

That being said, it could also be a case where Michael B. Jorden's name independently came up in the same meeting as Boba Fett's. But by the time the story got to to someone connected with the media all the context other than those two names had been stripped away.

Well I hope you like paying through the nose for starwars games, Battlefront's price tag will be $110 for the entire game. Thats 50$ for the season pass of DLC, which is cheaper than buying it separately, on top of the 60$ basic price tag. Its basically a required buy too if you want to play online, since Battlefield servers use new maps in their rotations if a new one comes around you are kicked off the server.

Man I miss the days of the old Star Wars games, at least the xpacs were not THAT much and came out way after the main game so you could at least enjoy that for a while before fronting more money.

Everyone's fav Starwars game?

Apropos of nothing in particular: Newlyweds follow their first dance with a lightsaber duel.

(Yeah, it's pure Flynning, and they're obviously not experts, but just the concept and having the guts to follow through with it is major coolness points, IMO.)

Eh, being booksmart or an outcast doesn't make you enlightened. There's racism in every culture, so why should nerds get free of it? I'm sure half of the people using that hashtag are dead serious and probably have posters of those black characters up on their dartboards or copied onto targets at their private gun ranges.

There's apparently good money the original poster, at least, was a troll.

Most likely. Those assholes are also everywhere. They're like the Socrates of the modern world, except the rest of us have gotten so stressed out and hyped up that they really don't need to even think through what they're doing to pull it off.

I dunno about that. Dismissing the people that were advocating for boycotting The Force Awakens just because one of the movie’s leads is black as just “trolls” is actually ignoring the racism problem that nerd culture still has.

I mean, actual white supremacists on twitter with handles like "@Cultural Marxism" are saying shit like “diversity is white genocide” and people just waving away those remarks as just trolls seems to be ignoring how this behavior is indicative of a larger societal problem.

I was reading Birth Movies Death and I ran across this comment on the true protagonist for the prequels.

(I reposted the whole damn thing here, does anyone know how to link individual comments from Disqus? If they do, I'll edit this down)

Here it is. Short version, Palpatine was the actual protagonist in the story, and Lucas was deliberately hiding it until the end
