It depends on how seriously the anime in question takes itself, but around 3-5, I guess.

4-5 is best.

I can't usually stand anything higher than a 5. My preference is around a 3 or 4.

Don't care as long as it isn't 8 or 9.

Whatever works.

Though I'd really not like to see 8 or 9.

Having said that, though, it depends on the seriousness of the work itself. And where does Crayon Shin Chan's art fit into on this scale? Eleven?

3-5 are my preferences.

5 is just so.....I do not like it at all.

2-4.

I prefer 2 and 3 though.

I don't think I'd go higher than 4.

1 is real life. 2 is Death Note. 6 is around what Kanon is. Anything above that, I haven't seen in anime yet.

2-3 is my preference, with the exception of Moe shows. Anything is fine with those.

1 or 2.

I take it back. 1-3,but I tolerate 4.

@12: 7 gives me Lucky Star vibes.

All of those faces would work well depending on what the style of the show is and what tone the author is going for. 9 could be very effective even in a predominantly serious work if the author wanted to create a lighthearted tone or have some comic relief, for example.

My taste is just that bad.

Nothing wrong with liking chibis.

It's not bad by definition, severely stylized people can work very well in the right context. (As Scott Mc Cloud demonstrates)

Anything from 2 to 4 is something I will like. 6 is my limit. 1 is okay too but ehhhhh.
