I think that would look better cut down anyway. It's a bit hard to make out the details, as it is.
Not sure it's necessary to use the whole thing anyway. And it's not like it's the only time Calvin And Hobbes used this trope.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartAll those Odd Shaped Panels make this comic look hard to excerpt, so I think we should find another one, and crop it. Does anyone know where to find the strip where Calvin leaves his school lunch at home, so he rushes home to get it, but his mother meanwhile brings it to the bus stop, and he ends up missing the bus after she finally gives it to him?

For what it's worth, we can't use just a single-panel of anything, because the trope is about an entire segment having no dialogue whatsoever — we do need multiple panels.
Even Odd Shaped Panels out, I really doubt we could cohesively extricate panels from the current image.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Yeah, I didn't say that I believed one panel would suffice.
Not really liking it...it lampshades the trope, but it doesn't actually tell me what the trope is.
Rhymes with "Protracted."I don't see any story in that manga panel.
I think you could find the comic I mentioned earlier in It's a Magical World, Calvin and Hobbes Sunday Strips: 1985-1995, or the last book of The Complete Calvin and Hobbes. I can't scan it myself since I left my Calvin and Hobbes books at my parents' house.
Man I wish the chapter wasnt in so bad quality, the entire thing is in near silence. Most speech bubbles are done via pictures (only 1 word said though out the entire thing which is "Cold!" when someone stuck a cold drink on someones face.) [1] (the chapter has some Anime Anatomy but linked page is WS.)
Anyway... I got no other ideas, few shows actually do this.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!^^ The Magical World Calvin And Hobbes book has a lot of silent (or mostly-silent) Sunday strips. We have Calvin trying to out-wait Hobbes before entering the house, Dad's attempt at bicycling, one of Calvin's Spiff daydreams, wasting time on a weekend, a bad day at school, Calvin melting on a hot day, getting ready for bed, Mom getting Calvin onto the schoolbus, difficulty getting to sleep at night, another daydream about what Calvin wishes his life was like, Calvin forgetting his school lunch ... quite a few, and a number of them are more easily croppable.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Good call. I'll go put them up on ImageLinks.Silence Is Golden.
There you go, ten strips for your perusal. PNG-quality available on request.

Rhymes with "Protracted."Thanks! I had thought about stacking panels 10-15 from this comic◊ in either two rows of three or three rows of two. Would they make sense by themselves?

Since we can't use the (admittedly awesome) original image, we could just go with the pun. Because he's telling threepio to be quiet and threepio is...gold...nuthin?
Made it look more like a cohesive comic.
"You fail to grasp the basic principles of mad science. Common sense would be cheating." - Narbonic
I like how this turned out.
You can see them shouting wordlessly too. I like that.

Rhymes with "Protracted."I dunno. Each panel in that is too small for me.
"You fail to grasp the basic principles of mad science. Common sense would be cheating." - NarbonicI like that, but I think the minus pic does just as much with less.
Also, I think that Calvin one might be the whole comic.
"You fail to grasp the basic principles of mad science. Common sense would be cheating." - NarbonicI like Calvin better: the "arc" is more straightforward (parent/child interaction, forgets lunch then books... versus subject trains then becomes "one of them", which is kind of complex), and the art is more iconic.
Also I don't agree that the other does "more with less"; I think Calvin does more with more.
"Besides, if you got the story, so can others. Stop underestimating people." ... I didn't say it's ungettable, I said it is less easy to get. No need to be derisive :(

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The Calvin one is visually pretty noisy, and it's shrunk so much it's hard to see details. There's a reason why I'd never have shrunk that whole completely silent minus strip, or even half of it. It's not needed. If you can pick a few panels of that and tell as full a story as my suggested one, then I'd go with Calvin. As it is, I assume that's the reason someone said my suggested did the same (full story) with less.
Besides, if you got the story, so can others. Stop underestimating people.

"You fail to grasp the basic principles of mad science. Common sense would be cheating." - NarbonicI like the Calvin one better as well. But if we're so concerned about using the whole thing, we can get rid of two panels: The third one (Calvin running back against a white background) and the tenth one (Calvin and Mom yelling at each other) Oh wait, 13 is a prime number...
We can also get rid of Calvin's realization without changing much.

Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
The image contains an uncut Calvin And Hobbes comic, albeit with the copyright date apparently blanked out. (The books blanked out the dates, so it doesn't look like we can blame the uploader.)
