  • Moiraine
  • Granny
  • Zaphod
  • Mr. Wednesday (although I don't actually mind if Revan wins either)

Well, out of my votes, Granny and Moiraine are kicking ass, Mr. Wednesday is starting to pull ahead, and Zaphod is 5 votes back as of this writing.

If Granny gets by the winner of Revan/Mr. Wednesday I'm picking her as the eventual winner. (And despite the 18 charms, I bet she'd wipe the floor with Mr. Wednesday.) Never Mess with Granny.

Patrick Rothfuss has dangled a big carrot for his fans. I suspect that's part of the reason why Bast and Zaphod are gaining ground.

Down to the wire here. Mr. Wednesday is clinging to a slight lead over Revan, and Saphira has probably pulled too far ahead of Zaphod to be caught.

Polls are closed, and the winners are:

  • Zaphod, coming back from being down about 50 votes with just minutes to go.
  • Anomander Rake
  • Moiraine
  • Kelsier
  • Mr. Wednesday
  • Granny
  • Kylar Stern
  • Erevis Cale

So the next round will be:

  • Granny vs Mr. Wednesday
  • Zaphod vs Rake
  • Moiraine vs Kelsier
  • Kylar Stern vs Erevis Cale

Rake might actually win the whole thing...

I did a write-up for Granny versus Wednesday in the comments, but Suvudu's awful comment system hasn't let it appear. Gah!

I'm voting:

  • Erevis Cale
  • Zaphod
  • Kelsier
  • Probably Wednesday, even though I like Granny more

Kylar, Rake, and Moiraine are all winning their matches decisively. Granny is ahead of Wednesday, but he still has a chance.

Granny is still the most likely overall winner, I think.

Edit: Now that I think about it, the overall winner will probably be Rake.

Granny vs Wednesday still seems to be the only competitive match this round, and Granny is holding onto a lead of about 130 votes.

I think that lead may stand up to the challenge.

It's round five! Semifinals!

Moraine vs Rake

Granny vs Kyler

Suvudu are taking the easy way out with granny's write up, and it's becoming freakin' annoying, since they have made her it to a total Mary Sue.

Maybe if they made an effort to actually do a proper write up...

I agree. Even as a Granny-fan, that was very disappointing to read. Also, it is going to turn quite a lot of the "don't know either"-votes against her, I wager. I just hope the fans are able to break past the dissuading factor the Suvudu-writers are setting against Granny... :|

I don't get into these little contests any more, but a FB friend of mine keeps telling me to vote for Rake.

...Huh. Granny is actually losing to Kylar. Rake vs. Moiraine is very close, with Moiraine having a slight lead. Kylar should be able to beat Moiraine but lose to Rake (since Moiraine is almost completely dependent on magic). I never would have guessed that Kylar had a shot at winning this tournament, but it looks like he does.

Moiraine and Kylar both won their matches. I think Kylar will actually win the tournament now!

Recap

So it ends. But I do know, I got introduced to a lot of new series, and even if Kyler lost, Night Angel Trilogy got it's self a new reader.

What do you think? Any thoughts?

...still upset about the Suvudu-writers giving Granny what I see as a disadvantage in the fight against Kyler. They turned the neutral voters against her with that write-up, just because they can't write as well as Pterry.

I'm glad that Moriaine won, though. She was among my favourites for this contest.
