Welcome to Subjectivityland. I still see plenty of innovation out there. A bunch of others do too. Even the Call of Duty series is taking steps outside their comfort zone. Saying that everything is gone makes no sense.
Team Fortress 2 is a watered down copy of QUAKE that has resorted to busting out horrifically bad DLC to justify not putting out REAL updates, like NEW MAPS.
Uhhh, dude? You even play Serious Sam 3? It's a disgrace to the previous games.
Like what? Who cares about what others "think" if they can't actually elaborate on any of it and point to concrete examples?
Hahahahaha, Call of duty? Are you kidding me? MW 3 is LITERALLY a cut and pasted version of MW 2, down to having error messages in the PC version refer to MW 2(Not sure if that's been fixed yet.).
Everything is "gone" in the sense that there's nothing new.

Serious Sam 3 was released last month. And Croteam is by no means a "huge company".
I'm going to guess you didn't play past the first few levels? That's the common complaint.

'twas brillig. How is Call of Duty taking risks? Zombie mode is not a risk.
I was referring to Valve.

Okay, whatever you say bro, its not my opinion anyway...

http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Alright then, what new innovative things are being made? I don't think you're wrong but I'm honestly curious.
That's a damn shame, it really is, but Stalker 2 was going to have always on DRM which makes me wonder what other mandates would've been made about the game. You wouldn't be able to get this kind of funding without some trade offs unfortunately.
That was a false rumor.
Does the game become fun?
The game really comes into its own after the first hour or so.
'twas brillig.official statements being made by various staff at GSC that was let go that the company indeed was closed because the CEO couldn't get a console publisher and he felt the game "Wouldn't be profitable" on PC, which is complete horse shit, the game was insanely profitable.
So either it was mismanagement of funds, the CEO didn't feel like digging into his piggy bank to put money into the piggy bank, or like somebody said around ten minutes ago the mafia/corrupt government was trying to sink their hooks into the company.
A mix of publishers thinking console players wont enjoy depth, and an asshole CEO.
Wonderful.
x4
If I heard it right the first few levels are meant to be Co D-parody more or less, after that it will become the Serious Sam we all know and love.
Has a compulsive editing and re-editing disorder. That doesnt sound as dickery to me...
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/At least now Shadow of Chernobyl has been summarily dethroned for "Most lost potential in a STALKER title". :(
This is not a serious sam thread.
Really? You dont think "This game wont be profitable on PC, despite it being extremely profitable on PC and its the reason I'm driving a fucking ferarri" not to be dickery?
Sigh...not like it matters anymore...

Loeadito, I'm referring to the alpha builds of So C.
Ah, Oblivion Lost?
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Yes. Thankfully, there is that Lost Alpha mod which looks to be restoring Shadow of Chernobyl to its full glory.
Well lets hope somehow the engine or files or whatever get leaked and the dedicated mod base tries to give us STALKER 2...

@forkparker: Dang, wish @gscstalker had given me and the boys at @Devolver Digital a ring before closing up shop...

Wait wait wait. Half-Life not having nearly as much depth as Stalker? Dem's fighting words, boy.
Spooky. Its true. I'm not saying Half Life is a bad game. I loved it. But when it comes down to it, you are just traversing one long linear path.
There was no open world, no weapon/armor changing, no side quests, no choices/options/multiple endings, no way to tell your own story via the game, no chance to just explore and roam, etc.
Yeah, HL was pretty linear. That's okay, though, they actually explained why it was linear (G-man!).
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!
Being funded by a huge company helps, as does cash shops.
I dont know how well Serious Sam is doing.
And while I don't think FPS is dead, it took a huge blow. Its really hard for me to care about the genre in general now.
