Hahahaha it's funny because I probably won't be able to own a home until my late thirties, yay.

i had this weird dream

where i was playing smash

and i think i was playing ryu or a mii brawler against somebody online

and for some reason it went from me looking at a screen to me literally controlling the character from the first person

and after the second match they were communicating to me via tags

"you're good"

oh gee thanks i was doing awful though

"trust me? :)"

oh that's weird

i slowly nod my head

and he slaps this login screen in front of my face

"gimme ur info"

and i just shake my head at him

and for some reason he starts talking about hands and wanting mine slowly walks away

when he turns back he's brandishing a knife

for some reason i had one of those foldable pliers that can turn into a pair of scissors

so i did that

and right when he came at me and started swinging, i jabbed right at his chest

and actually, seriously, vaulted forward awake

and according to my brother i was mumbling bits of it in my sleep

check out actual faces and study em

gotta learn how to draw from reality before you start

but if you're like me and just have never done that before really

stare mega hard at the face of the character you wanna draw

like with gracia

figure out all the bits that make up her face

learn 'em and try to get it as close to the original product as you want it

i personally wanna try and draw gracia closer to your avatar but that's still a work in progress

i tried drawing a gracia as an example, but me explaining things in text almost never works

so maybe this could help you

Yeah, weirdly enough I draw better faces with a pen than with a pencil It's all in my mentality. When I have a pencil, I get super anal about anything that could be corrected, and I'm usually drawing on good paper that I don't want to waste.

With a pen, I leave mistakes where they lay, work around them and get much more expressive, adventurous and crisp line work.

I have been drawing form life as best I can, and sometimes it helps when I stop trying to get it perfect and stop going nuts over precise anatomy and just play it by ear.

I've been practising figure drawing enough to get a good grasp on drawing a body, but I've neglected the head.

you gotta learn the rules in order to break them

if you understand proportions and all that and its clearly evident, you're free to start getting a little form free of it

the head's its own tricky rigmarole

there's a lot of proportions on the head, but if you study a face long enough, i like to think you'll figure out where all the chips lie on the table

that's my hardly educated two cents, though, so take that as you will

FOR NOW...

I'm fuckin real late as usual, but happy millionth post. I think it's remarkable how far we've all come on our goofy maladaptive little nerd journey, how much we've learned and grown together.

I can now call people from Singapore, Australia, the UK, Canada and other places far from my dry little home in Texas friends, and I think that's pretty fuckin special. Thank you all for sticking around and being such awesome people.

Couldn't find the original, so I just reuploaded it, much as I loathe doing that with other people's artz.

Also, I'm not particularly happy with anything on this source from the upper body down. Gracia doesn't have heels or fingerless gloves or multiple belts. She's not cool enough to steal Fen's style.

She really does get most of her confidence from dressing in Morgo's gear though, with the jacket and the gang medallions under her shirt and the tough steelcap boots.

I get a very mass effect vibe from that picture.
