I have all these tools, but they keep asking for offsets, and I'm just supposed to know what they do. Is that something people just know?
And I have a script editor, but it's all a bunch of gibberish, and it's not very user friendly...

Yeah, but it's not helpful either. They expect you to just know which offsets equal which event flags, too.
The problem with all these tutorials is that they talk like you know what they're talking about.

No, it's blank because that's where you type in the script.
No feedback about what you're typing in will do, or where it should go, or what offset you're supposed to use to make it happen at what time.
Just start typing. Maybe something will happen, with any luck.
Every time I think I've hit a breakthrough I just get sent back to square one. I don't know, I shouldn't be this upset...
I'll figure it out, I guess.
