Skulduggery Pleasant - Dead Men Reborn Discussion

First things first: I know this is not the signup page, but I'm saying this here anyways. Second, I'm DEFINITELY intrested in this RP. But I haven't read Death Bringer. So I'm gonna wait until next week, when I get the book, to join in the RP. Also, if you could give me some spoilers, that'd be great.

Great to have you (potentially) on board. Deathbringer is a good book and I would recommend it although it's not strictly needed for this RP. So far the soon to be renamed Ascension Group Phoenix is in German where they are being welcomed by some VERY suspicious Germans.

We should decide on the new name, btw. Also don't worry about spoilers nobody has mentioned death bringer. Yet, at least.

I actually think Dead Men Reborn sounds pretty good for a group name.

Yeah, I agree. Although, I wonder what the dead men were officially called? Because in the books I think it says they got that name 'cause they went on missions that should have killed them and came out alive (well, you know, sort of alive in Skullduggeries case...) wich suggests they had an official name before people started calling them "dead men"...

@Abicith: I don`t think that they had an official name. They were after all the magical equivalent of a Black Op unit.

I would agree with the 'Dead Men Reborn' title, but doesn't that just sound like we're taking most of the original Dead Men's name?

Fun with Acronyms time. Also, the Dead men weren't special black ops, that was a different team, one that Thurid Guild was part of. The dead men were just a bunch of guys sent on a missions where death was inevitable.

Right now I am imagining Skulduggery suggesting the Fun with Acronyms name to the team, and it is hilarious.

To everyone in this RP. I am going on a course for Friday and the whole weekend and will therefore be unable to post unless some miracle appears. So it would be best if everyone just filled it with tedious chatter.

It's definitely his style. In fact, I'm sure it would offer us some funny stuff to use if it becomes official and we all gripe about our stupid name. Would be funny. However, jokes on them, as at first maybe we're known as IDIOTS because nobody takes us seriously, but then it becomes "they're called idiots because they ignore the danger present during a mission." someone help me out with this.

What you do in that case is make the team be attacked, perhaps ending with a rocks fall party splits thing and the entire team gets stuck in Berlin somewhere, having to move around a city WE HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT. Cue us turning to Veir because of his German name and him going FOR GODS SAKE I KEEP TELING YOU IM NOT GERMAN!!!

Note I mean the team gets separated from the teleporter and officials together, not that everyone goes off on their own thing. Too cliche.

EDIT: You guys should watch the hiimmdaisy MGS fan dub where Little Kuriboh voices Snake. It works soooooo well!

Nah, that would involve too much backstory about why they were attacked and how they got away from the security fanatics. I guess it would just be better to fill the gap with character development and/backstory.

Hmm well Ezekiels character development seems to happen during times of stress, so there should be something we can focus on. Like, investigate where Tanith and Sanguine were last. Give us a quest dude, please.

I have to agree with Big Daddy P, sorry if that puts any pressure on you though.

Maybe you could assign someone to be a temporary GM for occasions like this? One of us could take over those duties for a bit while you're gone, then when you come back you take over the spot again?

It's a good idea but I would still prefer mine.

That actually works on three levels. 1) I wanted to send you to investigate the Travelling Elemental which would give you your quest 2) I thought about making bamack1 GM as I know that he has sufficient skills because of his Percy Jackson RP which fulfils the GM requirement and 3) It would annoy him which gives me endless pleasure...

So unless anyone objects, I'll arrange that before I leave.
