That dude is exactly how I'd imagine Kenshin would look IRL. Who is playing Zatoh Sagara (sorry I haven't read Kenshin in awhile and confused Sagara for someone else)?

...well, I'm interested.
oddlyI also think you're confusing series too.
Dunno who's gonna play Sagura, and I can't speculate 'cause I'm not familiar at all with Japanese cinema. Whoever does, I expect to be built and make the spiky hair look work for him.

That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulConservatively? a direct-to-dvd release courtesy of Funimation in about a year or two.
Ideally? Limited theatrical release at your local convention.

I can't have you close, so I become a ghost and I watch you, I watch you.I don't think it will top the Samurai X anime movies, but could be interesting.
SPATULA, Supporters of Page Altering To Urgently Lead to Amelioration (supports not going through TRS for tweaks and minor improvements.)Hmnn, I worry about this. For once, I like any and all Live Action adaptions of anything but I'll admit the visuals at least don't look messed up. But my concern is about the plot and I hope it is not distilled Dragon Ball-style, but for the plot to be worth for a movie it would have to jump to the Xishio arc imho, but that's a lot of plot to condense into a movie.
Edit: And of course I posted before figuring out there is a teaser video already, will watch.
Edit: Yeah, the Aoshi arc would be great for a Live Action adaption, only downside is that I doubt there is a remote hope for this to appear subtitled in Spanish in the theaters around here...

There's going to be a new Rurouni Kenshin to release in May. Nice tie-in.
With blood and rage of crimson red ripped from a corpse so freshly dead together with our hellish hate we'll burn you all that is your fateI see that there hasn't been any posts here in a while, but a new trailer has just come out.
Ok, that kicks the Judge Dredd trailer in the arse. Me wants.
And I'm pretty sure I saw the entire Kenshin gang in there. This will be so very good.
Seems like a fairly fun movie. I'm not a huge fan of the manga/anime or anything, though it's been forever since I saw/read it, so I don't know how my reaction would be today, but I do remember liking it well enough. Combined with the trailer and the fact that I have become much more interested in the bakumatsu period and it's aftermath since then, I'll give it a watch. But of course it opens up in theatres just about a week after I am returning home from Japan, typical. :p
I have read all 28 volumes of Rorouni Kenshin. I would love there to be a subbed version of the film, therefore, to be released over here. Or I will check and see if I can walk to Japan and punch someone in the face.
A new add:
Holy s***, I mean, Sano is there. Is that officer Saito? And of course Kanryo will have a giantic machine gun. This might be the first time in my whole life I approve the trailer of a live action adaption.
Isn't that the same trailer that's posted a few posts above yours?

Trailer in hi-def with subtitles.
Subtitles! Yeahhhhh. We may get the film over here!
Edit: SQUEEEEEEEE!!!!!! I want to see this film. Naow!

I like the manga, so this seems worth my while.
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"Guess what peeps? It's doing very well in Japan! (And Box Office Mojo only noted that Promtheus is doing okay. Huh?!)
There's a shocker.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatHmm? What is?
So this is a Warner Brothers film. Hmm...
Yup. Which could be a really big hint that the English subtitled version will make it across the Pacific in all directions.
As long as they get the names right - putting them in the order that they are spoken/written in Japanese, that is.

The reviews have all been stellar, from what I can see. Which is good because a lot of times anime doesn't translate well to live action. It's funny, they can make a Kenshin film of this quality while in the U.S. the best we've got are whitwashed Evangelion and Akira flicks, both of which are still (thankfully?) in development hell.
Announced Nov. 30th, the film is set for release on August 25th 2012. Based on the manga series of the same name, the film will star Takeru Satoh as Kenshin and Emi Takei as Karou. Production images are here courtesy of Comics Alliance.
Nothing like good news after the Akira-live action project, eh?
