When I was your age, Oregon Trail had about a dozen start/end point combinations, the ability to choose any date from a 20-year span (with appropriate weather, prices, encounters, and locations), and a vast number of items purchasable from the stores. I used to get on that game and just wander from trading post to trading post, never settling anywhere. You could actually turn a profit and survive for extended periods if you played it right.
