Pretty Cure general thread

Well you are about a week behind on this news. Blue and Purple are my favorites at the moment.

I already knew as well. But this poster is really cool, aint it?

I see this new series having potential to become quite darker then previous series.

Especially if they decide to go for the Major Arcana motif based enemies.

I thought it was playing cards, not tarot cards...

Tarot Card can overlap with them though.

Though Tarot Cards motif would be an interesting fit for another Series.

Not a fan of the poster.

Aren't Tarot cards a bit too dark for the usual fare of Pretty Cure?

If you've watched Heartcatch Pretty Cure, not really.

I have, and yes, still a bit too dark.

Plus we're trying to sell toys to 8 year old girls on Sunday morning. Flowers work, occult-ish cards don't.

Considering Most Japanese are okay with that compared to most westerners, I'm not so sure.

Then again, this is also show aimed at 18-20 something young adults as well, so....

b) Secondary demographic that'll eat anything Precure up anyways.

People complained about the violence in Futari wa and Heartcatch, plus it's still disctinct when it comes to what is okay for me as an over 18 and what is okay for my 8 year old.

Cult scares are much more a thing there than in America, actually. So I'm sure it would be a big deal.

Having watched all precures already, I have to say Heartcatch is really nice but it's plot towards the end was full levels of retard

the new doki doki precure fairy looks creepy

I'd have to disagree, it wasn't the best, but nowhere near really bad. The best endings so far are Fresh, Suite and Futari Wa.

It is based on a human baby (I think)...

Cure Heart / Aida Mana-The energetic student council president. Talented at sports and with excellent grades, to boot. Always cordial and helpful to who she interacts with, she tackles a wide variety of problems as Council President.

Cure Diamond / Hishikawa Rikka-Childhood friend to Mana. As student council clerk, she is often running around to act on Mana's behalf. A prodigy who's scores in trial exams are among the top 10 in the nation.

Cure Rosette / Yotsuba Alice-The daughter of a business mogul, she has a quiet personality. While she used to be acquainted with the two previously mentioned girls, they parted ways when Alice began to attend an elite private school. Her tutoring gave her near-professional level skills in fields from sports to music and cooking. True to her disposition, she fights defensively.

Cure Sword / Kenzaki Makoto-A cool, beautiful, and very popular girl who's always on the cutting edge of fashion. Fought as a Pretty Cure in the Trump Kingdom, but could not hold off the invasion of its enemies and fled to the human world as a result. Very dutiful and unconcerned for her own well-being in battle, she loathes getting close to other people.

Been awhile since I posted frequently so I am rusty. The descriptions make then sound so perfect.

I Like that Cure Heart starts out as a Student Council President and is smart to boot!

If you think tarot motifs would be to dark, note that Cardcaptor Sakura has a tarot motif while still being light story.

Tarot-like. The Tarot Motif in CCS is limited to "This is a set of cards that are mystical.", they're clearly not Tarot cards (Except for two or three inoffensive ones, I think).

So we have (unconfirmed) full body images of the Doki Doki Precure in civilian form now. Personally I am not a fan of Purple's hair or outfit. Same goes for Pink's outfit and to an extent Yellow's hair. What do you think?

/me is watching Fresh Precure The Fresh Precures of Clover Town

So Labyrinth got a hold of a slot machine for their "nakewameke" monster-of-the-week.

If they made any sense, they would make this the most alluring slot machine ever, and cause everyone to play it, lose their money on it, and become gambling addicts, abandoning their families and livelihoods.

Will they do that?

No. Of course not.

They will instead have the slot machine magically mind-switch humans and animals.

Newest episode was finally subbed. Reika was awesome. Kicked Joker's ass and pulled out plenty of weapons to take him down with. We're getting near the end here, so what is everyone's thoughts on Smile? I think it's decent. The comedy is a blast, and the characters are enjoyable, especially Yayoi. Still, the plot is weak, and the fight scenes aren't always that good. Overall, not bad, but far from the best Pretty Cure series.

You have to admit it's still a MUCH better path and pace than Suite's tour-de-blase

Oh yes. And the fights were better and plentier than Suite.

I liked Suite. Honestly, it doesn't deserve even half the bad rep it gets.
