15. Younger sisters are cute, the episode. I think they designed this episode to give cavities. More than it usually does. Angry Chocolate was fun. Next, time to see what Yukari's beef with Rio is.

I noticed something interesting in the first episode of Yes Pretty Cure 5. The title of the script Urara is reading from is titled "Cure Heart 9", and later in Doki Doki Pretty Cure, there's an actual Cure Heart (minus the "9" part). I'm not sure if that counts as Hilarious in Hindsight or not, although it might since I remember Mana/Cure Heart being bad at acting (ex. when she tried to pretend to be Marie-Ange to convince Makoto to go back to singing).

16. Yukari is now firmly established as the best. Props to everyone realizing that people they know are being targeted specifically. And more to Yukari for knowing she's next. Yukari's lack of passion for this whole thing is showing again, ditching everyone when the store is packed. I wonder if she'll ever grow out of that. She and Akira continue to have good chemistry together. Yukari making Rio sweat before she's even certain of everything. The tea ceremony was packed with subtle development for both Yukari and Rio, along with Himari and Aoi's reactions. Yukari approaches everything with a simple elegance, yet isn't sure if she likes it. Rio being skilled at this hints at a more noble background. Lots of hidden hostility between the two as well. Interesting development for Yukari, being so good at everything means there's little she finds interesting. Amazing troll with the fake sister. How much did Julio empathize with her? Macaron solos Julio in both fighting and deception. Now then, is she going to reveal his identity, or hold off until it's too late?

17. Eh, so we get Ichika's mother issues yet again. Not anything new. And it's not a big issue either. Ichika's a bit sad that Mama-Whip isn't around sure, but she's mature enough that she knows what she does is important, and they're still connected through letters and sweets. Well, I do feel for her when sorting through 50 different brands. I can never tell what's supposed to be better. Yukari is delaying telling the others cause... Cell phones would've been nice here. No big shocked reaction? Bummer. I do like Julio shit-talking Yukari though. Would've liked dull eyes Ichika to get more time with her friends, though at least Pekorin finally did something useful. I get why making the cookies is important, but couldn't she save finishing them until after her friends aren't getting beaten up? Underwhelming fight too. I did like Ichika inviting him to talk things over. Precure is all about that. Disappointing finale to this arc, but at least we got hints to someone connected to Julio and a cool looking villain to come.

18. Bibury has a nice design, but other than that she's just okay. Will need to see more of her. I do like her evil stuffed animal though. Finally got a name for the main antagonist. Julio is just moping around. Did they think he would just come back to school after everyone knows he's evil? Spreading bad rumors about KiraPati is a nice evil scheme, though I don't see how it directly hampers the Precure. It might even hurt the villains more with how often they target their customers. The evil fangirls are now the Cure's best allies. Surprisingly helpful those creepers. I'm still enjoying the middle schoolers more exaggerated reactions vs the high school duo being more subdued. Though Akira is still more inclined to get involved with silly things like the paper cups. Why didn't Ichika and Akira go home together since they live next to each other? Good on the non-Ichika girls for getting things done without needing a motivational speech from their leader. Yukari shows why she's the best yet again by identifying the villain yet again. Bibury's plan involves running away with the Kirakirau as soon as possible. Better idea than beating up the heroines that's for sure. Good start for this arc. Hopefully Ciel doesn't disappoint.

19. The return of Aguri Madoka! It seems she went to France and dyed her hair blonde over the interim between Doki Doki and Alamode.

19. Not even bothering to hide that she's a fairy huh. About time the second one from the op showed up. Ciel reminds me of Kurumi for some reason. Except she's not a dick. Why is a teenage French patisserie so famous in Japan? Don't really like Ichika being a klutz after becoming competent at cooking. Okay debut for her, but I need more for a solid opinion.

20. So is Ichika just going to stalk Ciel until she gives in? Would kind of like it if someone other than Ichika talked with Ciel at all. Now for some Mofurun pancakes. Ciel fangirling over the Cures is cute at least. Not really caring for this stuff right, now, but at least it looks like things will happen next episode.

21. Ciel is just as dumb as Ichika, just a better cook. Why didn't the elder to that big signal thing before? It's nice that the thieves found everyone, but wasn't the point of the shop to find the fairies? Noir is now a thing. Not very menacing yet. The reveals are lacking oomph all around. Is anyone except Ichika going to do something any time soon? Not feeling any hype for the mid-season climax.

[up] I think he only did that signal now because Ichika saw the lights of the fairies glowing, so he knew they were close enough to see it. For all we know, Ciel isn't the only one to end up in another country, and I'm not sure how far away the Elder's fireworks would be able to be seen compared to real fireworks. So he might have been hesitating to do it until he knew at least some of them were in the area.

22. Remember when mid-season had some of the best fights? I miss those times. I think we should've gotten some of the sibling bonding earlier. Feels a bit hollow dumping everything here. So Pikario was training to become a Precure? Either go through with it or don't tease us Toei. For better or worse it doesn't look like he was brainwashed. We're still full steam ahead on the Whip Train. Ichika is being shilled hard by Kirarin. Now I'm annoyed by the shilling. Maybe Parfait will get things back on track?

The lead almost always gets the brunt of the focus though with Happinesscharge being the sole exception and even then it switched over to the Megumi show halfway through. Really the only time I ever had an issue with it was in the case of Mana and Megumi. Otherwise it's really not much of a problem.

GoPri and Maho Girls were pretty good at avoiding pink wank. And even the worse cases usually avoided 5 straight episodes of pink while the other Cures did nothing.

Anyone had watched Dream Stars? The movie feels weird, and I'm not talking about the fourth wall breaking, It's more like the pacing really suffer because Ichika really hogs the screentime and the plot is pretty predictable. Combined the haphazard focus and paddings from the two bad dogs, I spent many times leaving my seat because there's nothing interesting happening most of the time.

With subs? Nope but the RAW came out awhile ago because it apparently came out early in China. It's okay but it wasn't nearly as good as any of the All Stars movies, barring the original and Haru no Carnival, even though it had way less Cures to deal with.

These movies are incredibly inconsistent. They can go from straight garbage to amazing spectacle and back again. Though you'd think they could have better crossover shenanigans with a smaller cast this time.

I would like if there's more inter-team interaction. The scenes where Kira bumps into their seniors is quite notable, as unlike the other meetings, they at first interact on the wrong foot (though it gets resolved pretty quickly).

Then again, this movie basically makes the ending of Mahou Girls non-canon. Or the other way around, I don't bloody care.

These movies are not even canon to begin with. They're Doing It for the Art. The only exception so far is Suite's movie.

These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.

The crossovers are non-canon. The standard movies are mostly canon or don't contradict anything and get an in-series reference (see Fresh and Heartcatch).

Yeah the crossovers are canon to each other but not the shows. Maho Girls's last episode is weird when it comes to Ichika not recognizing the Maho Trio and vice versa but that's a necessary evil because you can't expect the kids watching Kirakira to have seen Maho Girls and vice versa.

23. Mid-season redeemed. Good to see Yukari and Julio still shitting on each other. Actually Julio was the best part of this episode, and in hindsight has really been carrying this show since he showed up. Really good development on his part, and he did it while still remaining a believable jerk. It felt like the episode was building up for him to become a Precure. In fact, I want that. Cure Julio when? The non-Ichika Precure got to do a few things, so that's an improvement at least. Bibury is a meh mid-season boss, but being swallowed by her doll was cool. Good on Noir for at least trying to snipe his enemies. Ciel's despair came from her own doing instead of being forced upon, so I can appreciate it. Neat transformation for Parfait. Very nice fight debut for her, and she's got a great attack. Hold on, Julio's dead? Please don't be dead. I actually like him. Stylish ed, and earlier than expected. I hope they can build on this momentum.

24. Updated op is bad. So Pikario is alive after all. Kind of a cop out, but I like him, so I'll let it slide. Why is Ciel so enamored with Japanese stuff when she was originally from Japan? Maybe she didn't go down from the mountain much, but still. Ciel is officially a person, so I can see her easily transferring in unlike certain other new students. Did no one ask why she just disappeared? Good improv on the trio at least. Himari and Aoi need more bonding with Ciel though. She's really only been with Ichika. Grave has a cool car, which makes him cool. Next episode is even more blatant Yukari/Akira. Like there wasn't enough already.
