I'm assuming gifs aren't an option. If not then I don't think you capture it in a single image without it looking like a jump.

"I know where I am, I just don't know where I am in where I am." - MeMotion to pull
Frames are way too small to be clear.
Seconded
"I know where I am, I just don't know where I am in where I am." - MeWhat about this sprite thing? The skip seems more obvious.
Thirding pull.

That one is not bad indeed.

"Your kindness gives me the presentiment I can be reborn. Now, I want to believe at least in you." - Kaori YaeIs it really necessary to picture it with an animation? I personally got what the trope is about just from reading the name...
And the first thing that came to mind for the image is the first ED of Nichijou. At 1:00 in, it alternates between two girls skipping happily in front of a background and drawn in a style that really couldn't say "innocence" any more strongly without approaching dangerous territories.
Well, this version of the song has a whole block of text blocking the view, and the animation is such that a bunch of the frames look completely ridiculous on their own, but I'm quite sure I could conjure up a screenshot that's clean and shows the skip at its skippingest.
Well, at any rate the Pinocchio one's an improvement over the current:
Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - Camacan
I don't think we need to show the full motion, as most people have some idea of what skipping is.

I like the little girls picture.
Fight smart, not fair. That works well enough for me.
That's probably as good as we'll get. I support it.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!Fourthing pull, btw.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI like the little girls.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThe picture of the girls works.
Reaction Image RepositoryGood enough; the pic is up and tagged. Locking up.
The current image has 8 frames of animation, and is still vague even then; it could easily be mistaken for just walking.
I am inclined to assume this is unpicturable.
