Cleaning up the wicks: Unexplained Recovery

As per the TRS thread, I Got Better was renamed to Unexplained Recovery, a trope about characters coming back alive without any explanation. It was renamed due to massive misuse as a stock phrase and a pothole for "getting better" in general.

Here are the number of wicks of the former name, so it's going to take a lot of effort on this.

UPDATE: Down to 2968 wicks. It's gonna take a long while...

21/4/2012: I Got Better is down to 1223 wicks.

22/4/2012: 1150 to go.

25/4/2012: At 999. We're getting close.

26/4/2012: 650 wicks remaining.

29/4/2012: 350 wicks left.

Look at all the redirects.... To simplify things, organize your searches to target "tBetter" because that will catch virtually all of the variants.

I'm doing wicks that start with A right now.

They Got Better is now wickless. Should we cutlist it?

I cutlisted it.

She Gets Better cleaned up and added to cutlist.

Tropes that start with A are done (besides from one phantom wick).

I should be doing the rest of the B's by tomorrow.

I would propose that all "(pronoun) Got Better" redirects (save for the original title, obviously) should be cutlisted. They don't contribute to searchability, all they did was make the trope easier to misuse.

He Got Better is now down to 397 wicks and He Gets Better is down to 66 wicks.

I finished "Z" for I Got Better, I'm currently working "Y" and "X".This is nowhere as bad as Understatement used to be, but will still take a month or so.

Edit:"X" and "Y" are done. Wicks are now down to 3022.I'm going to do "W","V" and "U" of I Got Better next.

This seems to have been forgotten. I've gotten He Got Better down to 250 wicks. However, we need more people working on this.

I'm trying as best as I can to help. But until now, I was the only one updating the status... I'll try to do at least 80 wicks every few hours. We really do need more people.

Just some advice: People doing wick movements should realize that the vast majority of these wicks are bad and should not be moved to Unexplained Recovery. Especially on the He Got Better redirect. Also, any pothole or He Got Better added on to the end of the sentence is almost certainly wrong. It is best to just kill all wicks unless you have clear evidence that it matches the defintion of Unexplained Recovery.

He Got Better is now down to 200 wicks. However, I Got Better is still over 2000.

I'm going to hopefully to finish He Got Better today. I got it down to under 200.

But like Catbert said, please contribute and post the status!

Perhaps HGB might be worth focusing on first, then IGB? I noticed that HGB redirects to IGB, which then redirects to UR. It doesn't seem to break anything for a redirect to point to a redirect, but something about it just feels... unnatural.

(I took a swing at some HGB yesterday, will do some more in a bit.)

Glad I'm not the only one with my eye on this. Much kudos to people who are hammering this one.

One thing I'm trying to do as well as dewicking is to get rid of the phrase itself for the moment, otherwise there's a chance people will just rewiki-word it back. So "Bob gets shot, but he got better" becomems "... but gets resurrected" or "but it turns out to be non-fatal". Also if I can fit another trope name to it (Back from the Dead/ Only Mostly Dead/ Only a Flesh Wound, any other examples would be good) that may stop people's instinct to try to blue- text everything.

Does this sound sensible.
