Dr. Eggman

“And you seem more dedicated to being evil than the ‘dark’, brooding 'warrior' that I’m used to dealing with.” Eggman said, responding to Chase. “I assure you, there’s very little scientific genius out there that measures up to my own.”

Taking a moment to ponder the situation at hand after Tatu had given the order to attack New York, Eggman said “If Tatu is telling us to attack the city below, then we really don’t have much choice in the matter, now do we? You can all proceed with this however you want. I’ve got some preparations to make before I’m ready to take action.” With that, Doctor Eggman and his robot hoard began heading towards the vita chamber.

It was then however that Zeal appeared and handed Eggman the vial of the hypno-pollen he’d been promised. “Ah, excellent! This is more than enough for what I need.” Eggman said, taking the vial and examining it. “Thank you for you cooperation, Queen Zeal.”

Eggman then made his way into the Vita chamber, robot hoard in tow. Making his way over to the areas he had designated for himself, he split his robots into separate 3 teams.

One team was sent to analyze the hypno-pollen and find a way to mass produce a substitute compound. The Octobots, with their more maneuverable and opposable limbs, began setting up beakers and vials while a computer was booted up in the background.

The second team was sent to gather materials and begin construction on his new adamantium war machine. Badniks and Octobots alike roamed back and forth, gathering the appropriate materials. Wires and other bits of machinery were set up on workbenches and a proper forge was set up to create the adamantium that would make his newest creation invincible.

And the last team he sent to start preparation for the construction of a new Egg Carrier. If Tatu wanted him to go out and conquer this world, then he’d need the appropriate vehicle. And nothing quite struck fear into the hearts of feeble-minded civilians like a massive war ship looming ominously overhead.

Thankfully, his acquisition of Doctor Octopus’s lab left him with plenty of resources at his disposal. And with his new neural link connecting him directly to his robot underlings, he’d be able to oversee and manage all three projects at the same time.

And with that, Dr. Eggman got to work.

Kitana

Kitana stepped through the portal with the rest of the unfortunates now stuck in this unenviable situation, only to find a group of earthrealmers pointing guns at them.

"I see they did not bother to inform the locals that we were coming."

Kitana took a moment to look around, noting that several new faces had showed up since they entered the portal. She concluded that they must have been from the other team that had been mentioned. For now, however, with guns being pointed at all of them, they were in the same boat. Not that guns posed much of a threat to many of her fellow team members. This would end up being a slaughter in favor of their side if hostility's erupted. Still, not everyone would be able to shrug off bullets, and so Kitana moved forward to the front line of the group, ready to begin deflecting bullets with her wind powers should one of these earthrealmers make a stupid decision.

Vile, Sifuri, Helicarrier

Marching out of the portal while piloting his Ride Armor Vile was surprised to come face to face with a bunch of gun wielding humans, it also seemed that both teams had been gathered here so much for competing teams. Staring down the troops Vile felt confident he could take them if it came to it.

"I suggest you lower your weapons unless you want this situation to get ugly" The Maverick beckoned to the troops with the dim hope that they knew when to back down. Of course he would not complain if a fight broke out after all it would be the perfect time to test the Ride Armor if it came to that.

New York City - Borough of Queens - Cavalry Cemetery

Cavalry Cemetery. If Lyrica was right, there were over 3 million people buried here. Well, it was actually 4 seperate cemetaries, but they were run as one by the same group.

There was also a park contained entirely within the complex, which was nice. Even so, as the ghostly group emerged amidst the tombstones, Youmu found the sight of the Manhattan skyline poking above the trees the most amazing. It reminded her of something, though it took a few moments to recall what.

"Look Lady Yuyuko! It's like on the moon, in the Lunar Capital."

"Hmm?" said Yuyuko, following Youmu's gaze. She studied the view a bit, then shook her head. "No, not at all. Yukari would think otherwise too."

Youmu was a bit unsure why Yuyuko disagreed. To her the similarities were obvious. Tall buildings, similar design, though the lunar ones were a bit slimmer as she recalled. This was also far bigger. Perhaps that was what Yuyuko meant? Didn't feel like it though.

She then studied the surroundings closer to herself. Tombstones, endless rows of graves, each neatly marked and given its own space. It was different, yet similar to the one at Myouren.

"See, what did I say? Biggest in the Unisted States. And this is just one out of four."

Yuyuko nodded, then extended her hand. Out floated a small light-emitting orb. It floated out into the skies above. Youmu knew from experience, what the thing would do. To her, who was only half-phantom, it already had an allure of sorts. Truly dead spirits however, would find the orb irresistable, and instinctively float towards it. Yuyuko called it spirit-luring nectar, which was as good a name as any.

Around them, there were already phantoms and spirits materializing, before bobbing up and down on their way towards the lure.

"Youmu, gather mist," commanded Yuyuko, then turned to point at the Prismrivers. "Set the mood with your solo performances."

The musical trio grinned, or in Lunasa's case a more sincere smile. With that, everyone dispersed to carry out their respective tasks, save Yuyuko, who lingered by a fountain, watching as the ghost of a child emerged from the water to get closer to the sweet lure in the sky.

Doomstadt, Sitting Room.

"I cannot say it was easy, though it wasn't complicated either." she said, rubbing the rings on her fingers affectionately. "I challenged him to direct battle and won. And now these rings and Troy are mine." It was obvious she greatly enjoyed her victory over The Mandarin.

"What about you though? It seems you've hollowed out Doom's shell and slipped right in."

SHIELD, Helicarrier

Estelle was greeted to a group of angry looking men in an area that reminded her of the Heracles. A horrid giant weapon designed to crush cities. She had honestly been pushing to get the thing dismantled, or otherwise re-purposed. The resources that go to its upkeep would be better put to use helping the downtrodden.

But she could worry about that later, she had introductions to make. Walking up to the crowd of men she bowed slightly, at the waist, to them. "Hello everyone. I know us appearing here so suddenly might have been a bit rude, but we're here to help. I promise."

Zuko

When the teenager felt his uncle's hand on his shoulder and heard his words of reconciliation, his face scrunched up for the briefest of moments and his eyes became downcast. But then, slowly like the sun breaking through the stormy clouds, a smile grew on Zuko's face. The smile grew and did not fade till when at last Zuko looked back at his uncle Iroh, he was practically beaming.

"Thank you uncle. Thank you..."

He would have said more if he could but his mouth refused to work. So he left it at that and watched as his uncle slowly made his way into the portal. As his uncle disappeared into the portal's shimmering depths Zuko's expression became serious and the smile faded.

Slowly, he took a deep breath in and slowly let it out, his hands following the motion of the air.

Calm, I must be calm...

And so with that one breath, Zuko flushed out of his systems the many worries that had plagued him over the last few days. There was a mission he needed to fulfill alongside new friends.

"I am ready." Said the boy prince as he stepped calmly towards the portal.

"I am ready."

And then, he plunged in.

...

Only to emerge on the other side and find an intimidating number of weapons pointed at him. He remembered someone saying that they were 'guns' but he wasn't sure. Nevertheless the situation seemed to have been brought to the teetering brink of violence what with everyone else there too. By everyone, Zuko meant not only his own group but what appeared to be the 'other' group as well- people he'd never laid eyes upon.

They were strange- everything from a fierce looking war beast saddled with excessive amounts of spikes and metal to-

"Sokka?"

The world was full of surprises but this one was most definitely one of the greatest. He knew Toph was here but Sokka too? Maybe Aang and Katara were here as well but after a minute of desperate searching, he realized that it was futile. They were nowhere to be seen and there wasn't even a guarantee that they would be here.

None of this made any sense.

"I'm not sure I'm ready for this...." He said to no one in particular, a bead of sweat trailing down the side of his face. The tension was palpable and he wished that it would end soon.

One way or another.

Castle Doom, Sitting Room

As Ahriman listened to Saya’s all too brief tale, his lips thinned in mild displeasure. He had hoped that she might embellish the story of her victory, give some insight as to what sort of powers she possessed, beyond the summoning of swords and armour from thin air. But while her satisfaction at having bested the Mandarin was clear—it radiated from her in palpable waves, colouring her aura with a subtle violet haze in his mind’s eye—it seemed that she was not the boastful sort.

Still, it was no great loss. There would be other opportunities to learn how her powers worked… and how to counter them as well, should it prove necessary.

At her words, he allowed himself a smile… not that she could see it, hidden as it was behind Doom’s mask. “You could say that, I suppose,” he said. “An artifice, but a necessary one. If you know anything at all about Victor von Doom, you know that his people—for the most part—are almost fanatical in their devotion to him.”

Here he paused, sending out a brief command pulse to deactivate any hidden recording devices in the room, and continued. “Even if that weren’t the case, I think you can agree that, draconian though Doom’s rule may be, most people would prefer the sight of him… to this.

He stood, and as he did so he deactivated the image inducer and mass displacement field. The guise of Doom fell away: the green tunic, cloak and cowl becoming a set of sorcerous blue robes, the armour becoming larger and bulkier, its hue shifting from drab gunmetal grey to navy blue with gilt trim, its bare and utilitarian plates suddenly inscribed with arcane patterns and runes. The scowling mask became a six-horned helm, one of them chipped; the grimacing faceplate shifted to a narrow T-shaped visor, above which the symbol of a third eye was wrought in great detail. Eyes like blue suns stared out at Saya from the darkness of his visor, twin stars floating in the void of space. Eight feet tall without the horns, broader of frame than any normal man, he seemed to fill the room with his towering presence.

Ahriman remained in his true form just long enough for Saya to take her fill, then switched his devices back on and sat down; by the time he was seated, he was Doctor Doom once more.

“I don’t exactly radiate benevolence, to put it mildly,” he said with a hint of wry amusement.

Desco looked at another of Tesseract's people trying to tell her about the dangers of knocking down a building. His plan though, backfired, as she only got more excited at the prospect of poisoning everyone with old insulation and causing other environmental issues. She didn't even consider that such things would inconvenience her, as a Final Boss she should be generally immune to such 'status effects'.

Desco took Scahala's hand and stepped into the teleporter. She hesitated as she stepped in, Schala was still uncomfortable with indulging in the side of evil, but her relationship with Desco both as a friend and as her familiar now told her to help. "Let's go Schala! Desco is dispatching!" In a flash of light Desco and Schala were gone. They reappeared at the base of the Empire State Building standing on the side walk with the building towering above them. They bothered a couple pedestrians that saw their materialization but after a few moments they went back to whatever they were doing. Stranger things show up in New York.

Desco looked up at the building with wide eyes. "How should we start Schala?" "I don't know." The pair stepped closer to the building. What Desco wanted to start with was to use her ultimate attack to destroy the building in one blast and half the city. Without that she had to think about the new powers she had to take down the building. Klarion's mastery of magic allowed for a large variety of different methods.

"We need to do an evil speech!" Schala nodded. By announcing their intentions, fewer people might be hurt while inducing greater panic. Desco waved her hands in a pattern and created a giant megaphone made out of red energy to talk to the people in the city. She floated up into the air and Schala flexed her Succubus wings, then started flapping them and moving after her. They looked down at the people below, and Desco held up her megaphone with the power to be heard by all but the farthest parts of the city, a decent size of Staten Island and the farthest parts of Queens and Brooklyn. Her body began to emit an aura of power and blue energy bolts sparked in the air around her. "Testing testing, 1 2 3. Ahem, She spoke into it with her 'Final Boss' voice, a slightly deeper voice which is clearly trying to sound evil but doesn't actually sound evil.    "Heh heh heh, now, listen up all of you pathetic humans! I have come to your world to take over your weak planet and enslave all of you peons!"    Desco paused for a moment to take a breath, her eyes sparkled with happiness and evil intent.    "I am the fear! I am the dread! I am the disaster! I am the calamity! And most of all, I am she who will sink the world into blazing chaos, the final weapon Descooo! Now cower in fear as I destroy the Empire State Building!"

The aura faded and Desco dropped the megaphone which disintegrated as it fell. Desco looked over at Schala. "Desco used some of her 'unsealed' speech and mixed it up." "That was, very good Desco!" Schala forced a smile, but with how silly she sounded Schala doubted that Desco's announcement was taken seriously. "Now, its time to attack!" Desco held out her hands with flat palms out glowing with energy, eyes closed, and focused her power. She didn't need too much to take down the building, just a decent explosion at the base of the tower hot enough to melt the main support beams holding the building up.

While they couldn't see it, a red mass in the shape of a cartoonish bomb with a fuse materialized in the basement of the tower and started to grow. It just grew and grew pushing aside the supplies in the room and when it filled the room the walls, floor, and ceiling cracked. Schala fiddled as she waited for Desco. With their connection and the nature of it, she knew exactly what Desco was about to do.

Then in a moment, the bomb exploded, red energy surged out and disintegrated everything around it. After it took out quite a bit of the area around the blast stopped instantly disintegrating the matter it touched and damaged, melted, and pushed aside the material around. The blast surged out as it broke the surface of the ground around the building. The sound rumbled and deafened Schala and Desco. "Desco may have overcharged the attack." The building started to fall now that it had a huge empty gap where its base was and the blast ran out of energy. The screech of metal bending, cement falling apart and being crushed and crushed again could be heard all around.

ECLIPSE

Metropolis

Lex Luthor was in his office, yes, why wouldn't he be? It had been approximately an hour and such since Chase Young stopped by to 'coerce' the businessman into a deal he couldn't refuse, and this time it seemed like Luthor was just going to let Chase step right over him. Mercy didn't even show up to welcome the Overlord, and Luthor just sat on his chair, facing the wall, only his bald head poking out of the top.

... except Luthor was oddly silent...

If Chase paid attention, he would see that Luthor was squirming. There was no one else in the room, so why would he be doing that? All that the Heylin warrior needed to do was spin Luthor around to reveal the once proud almost-Presidential candidate gagged and strapped to the chair with copious amounts of duct tape. And written over his chest in red paint (or was it blood? It smelt like blood), were nine words that didn't seem to be meant for Luthor.

They were, quite simply NOW I HAVE A NUCLEAR BOMB, HO HO HO.

Skies Above Washington DC

The boy's eyes were, at first, blinded by his first look at natural sunlight in what was probably his entire life. He yelled in fear, hands holding onto Teridax for all of his life, as tears started to drip out of his eyelids. Slowly, wincing, the boy opened his eyes and looked down... at his hole, his sewer, his home, at the city that lived above him...

And then he looked up, at Teridax, and he was once again blinded as the sunlight obscured the creature that had just saved him from his past life, like a true angel- so beautiful that looking directly upon it was impossible as human mind could not comprehend the image of true purity that was an angel's form.

All fear was gone, and in its place was total admiration. No longer did the boy hold onto Teridax's hand for dear life... now he hugged it, wishing for his salvation.

——-

Space Base

The slap reverbed all across the room, and it possessed such strength that Amon's mask came flying off, revealing his face, completely unscarred from any interference by the symbiote. His breathing restored, Amon touched his own face, as if trying to confirm that he still had it. He looked down at his mask, and then at Tesseract, body covered in sweat and face still stuck in 'dumbfounded' mode. But when the talk of armies came up, Amon was given someone to hold onto, someone who he knew could help him overcome this symbiote's mind games.

"Yes." Amon said calmly, putting on his mask. "I have an army to make. Thank you, Tesseract." He muttered, before heading to the consoles in order to check on Dio's progress, unaware that his hand was still trembling...

Watching Amon walk towards his new objective, Tatu then turned to the teleporters, as Tira, Blackfire and Anub'arak were brought up.    "A good hunt, I believe?"    He asked, before crossing his arms.    "Did you all get my message from before? We're about to head into a new part of our plan."    Motioning towards Ahriman's goons, he grinned.    "My dear beastmen, follow the next Overlord to go down to New York. You'll find all that you need there. Soft, weak and disorganized humans by the dozen."

——-

New York

"So shiny..."

"So beautiful..."

"I want to touch it."

"Mommy? Mommy, where are you?"

"How did I get here? Where's my brother?"

"Where's my suitcase, my money?"

"I never got to the audition..."

"They beat me up... just because I looked different?"

"I need to get to the orb..."

"I need to touch the orb..."

As Cavalry Cemetery became a gathering place for the phantoms and spirits lured by the orb in the skies. The group watched as politicians crawled out of their tombs, entertrainers stood up and started moving as if they were still alive, several mobsters waking up- many of them missing body parts and even coming out of unmarked graves- all of them following the allure of the orb in the skyline.

But then, a brighter object began to shine in the skyline, although it did not attract the attention of the recently undead. In fact, it did not even shine. But the quartet got to watch as a building slowly disappeared, sending a defeaning rumble through the air as clouds of dust started to surround the area...

——-

"So, yeah. I'm getting married!" Pete, a police officer doing his usual duty outside of Yankee Stadium said to a fan of the game who unfortunately could not get tickets. "And that's my story. Sorry I took all of your time away, sir."

"Ah, not at all." The fan said, shrugging. "Didn't get tickets, but my friends did, so I'm waiting for them to leave. I wanna hear all about the game from them, y'know? Not those guys on TV, they don't know what they're talking about." Out of nowhere, the two started to hear the rumble of the crowd coming from the exit. "Already? Huh. That's weird. I didn't think it'd be over so soon."

From the darkness of the stadium, thousands and thousands of stadium goers started streaming out, all of them running as fast as they can. Whilst up close they had rage in their eyes and lust in their hearts, from afar it looked like nothing but people coming out of a stadium. As such, the fan started to walk up to them, hands around his phone, before Pete's smile started to disappear. He recognized that look, that mad look, like they had lost all reason. He had seen it quite a few times before.

"Sir, get in the car." Pete said.

"What's going on? Is something the matter, officer?"

"Sir, get in the car." Pete repeated.

"Just tell me what's wrong—"

"It's them! They're wrong, they're coming right FOR us!" Pete yelled, pointing at the incoming mob just in time for the fan to turn around and see the slower people getting trampled and left behind. Rushing into the car, the two locked the doors and rolled up the windows, but the engined did not start. "Shit!" Pete cussed, slapping the front wheel and trying to turn on the car. They were getting closer, and closer, they were going to get caught in the middle of a mob and—

There was a loud bump and the car shook as something landed on the roof. From there, an arrow with a siren flew on an arc over the mob, attracting their attention elsewhere. With a toothy grin, Clint Barton (AKA Hawkeye) slid down the front of the car, motioning for the police officer to leave. "Yeah, you need to go. Riot police's on the way, things are pretty bad. Call for immediate backup—" Hawkeye said, tapping the side of his head. "Tell your superiors it's a code 52-616. SHIELD's orders!"

"Code 52-616? Oh... oh fuck." Pete muttered, nodding and grabbing his radio. "All units, all units, we've got a code 52-616 on the making, a code 52-616, be on the lookout!"

Sticking close to the mob, Hawkeye followed them as they headed out of the Bronx, making sure to move any civillians out of the way and restrain the ones enraptured by Zeal. "Coulson!" Hawkeye yelled, finger on the ear as he watched the mob swarm into the streets of New York. "I can't save all of these guys, Coulson, and they're going goddamn haywire!" He shot off an arrow, managing to grab a couple of angry mob members with a net. "You need to give me a target, someone I can hit and put an end to this— shit, Coulson, they're starting to go after innocent people! Goddamnit, Coulson, just give me a goddamn TARGET!"

In an instant, Hawkeye's ear piece went haywire, as an explosion flashed the entire area, throwing him to the ground. A loud piercing noise in his ear, Hawkeye started writhing on the ground, stumbling to get onto his feet... just in time to see the mother of all dust clouds coming towards him.

"OH FUCK—"

SIFURI

Loki hissed under his breath. " Be quiet, boy, or you'll end up making us both lose our heads. " He chided, hands remaining carefully up in the air, a tiny smile permeating his lips as Maria Hill's glare became impossible to ignore. "Allow me to explain."

"What the heck are those things?!" A couple of soldiers yelled out loud once the Orkz came out of the portal. The entire helicarrier shook a little when Gough stepped out, but it quickly stabilized itself. There were not a couple, but several confused stares for not only the weirder looking members of the team, but also Seiga ('oh boy, another floating one'), Fletcher ('oh boy, ANOTHER teleporting one!'), Hood ('that's a weird juxtaposition'), Icarax ('robots. what's next, a fat old man?') and Iroh ('shut UP, Joss!').

And then Sokka came out. No one reacted to Sokka, but Sokka reacted to everyone. "Woah!" He yelled, before noticing Zuko. "WOAH! Zuko?" He muttered, before reaching to hug the newcomer. "I can't believe you're here! Oh no. You're here. That's... really bad, man."

"Will you all be QUIET?!" Loki bellowed, his voice echoing through the helicarrier as his expression changed to anger for a brief second. He was soon all smiles and clasped hands again. "Let me explain, since I AM THE ONLY PERSON HERE WHO KNOWS MARIA HILL AND AS SUCH ESSENTIAL FOR A FLAWLESS EXECUTION OF THIS MISSION!" He yelled again, this time just to be sure the people behind him understood. "Hill, a huge threat is coming to this world. One that will upset the balance of all of creation. And since I am part of creation, I feel very... invested... in not dying. As such, I have collected this crew of eccentric beings to help me with- and I truly dread this- saving the world."

Hill just stared at Loki, dumbfounded. "What? Are these people supposed to, to save the world? I don't even know who any of them are!"

Loki took a deep breath. "You know me, God of Lies. Let's go through all of them: that's Armani, good with bows, and with being a little prick. Fletcher, good teleporter, thoroughly enjoys a baseball bat. Mordin, looks like a frog, a good medic. Seiga, floats around, think she can raise the dead, will use the word 'droll' a lot. Nitori, she almost looks like a frog, but she's very good with robotics. Toph, blind, can bend the earth to her will, unusual obsession with nicknames. BB Hood, name's not just for show, likes guns. Maria, fancy spirits and magics- also comes from the past, works as a recurring gag. Sasuke, ninja, very sneaky. Sky... intergalactic police officer? I think he's missing a piece of his brain. Iroh, like Santa Claus with fire. The Orks, imagine everything that is wrong with the universe on a massive orgy of hellish proportions, this is what came out of it, good with machines. Gavrill, don't go close to her, don't think about her, just don't. Gough, big guy- for you. Ryuko, may get you on some government lists, good swordsman. Erza, magic as well. Rayman, I think he throws balls? Donatello, ninja, machines, recurring theme here. Elec Man, self explanatory. Zelda, ever hear the old ditty about the man with two identities? Riesbyfe, big spear on that one, figuratively and literally. Urza, old but very powerful artificier- that's a fancy word for magic. Icarax, rather brutish, very blunt. Elsa, she hsa ice powers, don't worry about forgetting that because she'll hammer it over your head. Atrocitus, Red Lantern. Jack... motorcycle? Boy with scar on face... that one I don't know. Chaika, one word wonder, another member of the 'little girls with astounding abilities club', the one next to her I also don't know. Supergirl, very self-explanatory. Labrys, big axe, also a robot. Kitana, oooh, remember me to get back to you on that one after— I mean, yes, fans. Very dangerous. Vile, another self explanatory name, thanks for that one. Estelle, has some support spells, really useful. That man with the pistol I do not recognize, but the ice man is an odd one I still have to learn more about. Jetstream Sam, swords. Wammu, pecks. Nerile, salt. And finally, Sokka, who I have always felt an unexplained kinship to."

Sokka shook his head, surprised. "Really?"

"Of course not, idiot." Loki scoffed. "And that's the entire group, give or take a few people suddenly showing up and then disappearing out of nowhere. Maria Hill, we are..." He bowed. "Your Seekers of Justice."

Maria Hill stared at the group again, tilting her head to the side before crossing her arms. "This has got to be the most ludicrous thing I have ever seen in my life. The Earth is under no danger, especially not the kind of danger that would require us to go after... whatever you call this, Loki. I think you're trying to make up for mistakes of the past, which is nice- but coming up with some handmade version of the Avengers is not the way to do it. Now—"

"Commander Hill!" One of the soldiers yelled, running up to her with sweat covering his face and a very trembling hand. "Ma'am, please, you need to see this. It's New York— it's been attacked. Not just that, but..." The soldier pressed a button, projecting on the air a video feed of New York- but most importantly, the Empire State Building.

Maria Hill narrowed her eyes, trying to find the invaders coming out of the sky, but she was suddenly thrown aback when, out of nowhere, a giant explosion took out the first floor of the Empire State Building. Within instants, the building began to fall down, floors crumbling on top of each other and kicking up a cloud of dust so massive that it knocked the camera, forcing the video feed to replay. Hill was frozen still, and her soldiers instinctively yelled when the bomb hit the Empire State Building again, replaying the scene with excruciating detail. And since the images were being projected on thin air, the Seekers all got to see it as an explosion of an otherwordly nature took down one floor of the building and started a chain reaction that ended with darkness.

"Oh Gods." Loki muttered, unable to close his mouth as the video feed replayed the footage for a second time. "Oh... Gods..."

"Oh." And all of a sudden, supergirl was in front of me. Sweet gesture, really — made me mostly forget about the fact that there were guns pointed at me."Hi Kara", I said brightly.

Since it wasn't looking like I was going to immediately be shot, I took a moment to glance around. More of the team was showing up through the portals. Didn't recognize most that came through the science portal, though I did give Labrys a friendly nod. Same for that amphibian looking fellow. Oh hey it was Sam and Ryuko — been a while since I saw those two — they looked...like they had a few weeks ago, really. And a...nod of acknowledgement to Urza. I guess. I tried NOT to meet Gavril's eye, probably not good for my health.

...Also what was with that abomination that was being ridden by some Orks? Was that a freaking science experiment they had crafted over their practice period.

Loki started yelling about then. I instinctively rolled my eyes but decided to let him try and handle it for now. Jumping in when he inevitably lied of course — I peaked my head out from behind my flying friend to see what was going on.

"and with being a little prick."

" I can hear you you kno—he knows I can hear him so he wanted me to acknowledge it, didn't he. Dang it." " I freaking got played.

"He lied about being the one who actually collected us", I noted smarmily once he finished. Two can play at that game you hornhead. "In reality he's just another teammate like the rest of us. The actual Why of why we're here was true though. We heard there was trou—..."

The empire state building blew up.

The elevator to olympus blew up.

I stared, a cold feeling overcoming me. Shock? Yeah shock.

"...What. What just..."

"...Not under attack you say? I think we got here just in time, Commander. " I giggled. I started to feel a little bit giddy. Or maybe just dizzy. "Train for three days they said. You'll need to stop them they said. It's all up to you, they said. Gee you know I'm starting to think that three days isn't quite enough to be prepared for war!"

Oh gods what had we gotten into...gods...

~We don't know if Olympus is there in this universe, calm down!~

What?

~If this universe's Loki is just a mere imitation of the one at home, then surely it's logical that the other gods would be different as well? At the very least it seems unlikely — don't panic until you know for sure!~

...yeah, yeah okay, you're right. I took a deep breath and forced my eyes away from the screen and pressed my hand to my temple until the beating stopped. That was where we were going soon. Even if it wasn't the right thing to do...I had to know the extent of the destruction. I couldn't let my thoughts waver now of all times. Now especially was when a cold mind was needed. Don't let the images shock you because they weren't going to stay just images for long, and if you let your mind slip right before a life or death fight then the outcome was already decided on the latter.

Then everything started to go to hades's stinkiest pits as panic set in after the shock. Even these trained soldiers weren't used to seeing the freaking empire state building get blown up — even the commander seemed too stunned to keep control. Gods knows I'd be among them if it wasn't for the hunt helping me keep cold in these situations. My quips earlier probably hadn't helped keep things calm.

I sighed. We really didn't have time for this. I glanced up at Kara. She seemed to be from this world and was something of an idol if Loki was right. They wouldn't shoot an image of peace like her or else I'd eat my hat—er, shoe.

Besides she said earlier she was bulletproof. Which is good for me as otherwise I might wind up provoking a kill on sight response with what I was about to do.

I stepped behind Kara again, putting an arm around her waist so that she didn't fly off on me. "Cover me please. And cover your ears. Tell your teammates that through your tablet too if you please" I said as much to the magic members through the linkpear, then I gave her a couple of seconds to make it so.

Imagine the sound of a dragon, a howler monkey, and a mountain lion rolled together. Loudly. Not quite enough so that it would blow eardrums in this confined space or anything, but enough to where it would either make you stop and cringe horribly or — in the event most people were wearing ear protection — sound alarming enough to appeal to one's base instincts and make you jerk around in shock and alarm at the apparent monsters that had suddenly appeared behind you and were about to have you for lunch, body armor and all.

Now hold that thought in your head. Ahem.

   "SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!!!!!"

When they did jerk around, they'd see the sound apparently coming from supergirl. I kept it going for a good two seconds, then I suddenly ended it on a duck quacking. Figure that would help take away the scare factor after it had been used to grab some attention. Also probably get me made fun of later, but, you know, priorities.

I waved from behind her and poked my head out again. "Everyone's at attention? Good. Now would one of you assumingly highly trained soldiers kindly figure out what just happened WITHOUT the panic or shocked motionlessness, if you please?"

" Come on, move move move, remember your training and all of that stereotypical military lingo, you should be doing all of this already". What? Forgive me if I was a tad bit impatient to find out what was going on in the city that may or may not have some friends and distant family of mine in it while it was being attacked.

Sifuri, SHIELD Helicarrier

Elec Man did not say anything further throughout Loki's spiel.

Riesbyfe, on the other hand, raised her voice a couple of times throughout: "you gathered us? A false lyric if I ever heard one," and "The hell do you mean by a figurative big spear?"

Then, the... interruption happened.

Riesbyfe and Elec Man both stared in horror at the video.

"... Herre Gud!" Riesbyfe managed, a moment after the video finished and began anew.

Elec Man had no more words than before, but this time it was out of shock and horror. Then, his directive to help people kicked in, just as Armani's scream died off. Being able to regulate incoming sounds was one of the many boons of being a robot.

"He's right. We need to be there. Now. There will be survivors. How fast can we get medical teams, emergency response units, there? Does this world have a teleport network?"

Riesbyfe, meanwhile, shook herself from her daze. All traces of shock left her countenance, replaced instead with a burning holy wrath. The statement she had to make was one of a much less kind type than anyone else who'd so far spoken.

"How do we find who did this." It was, in theory, a question, but Riesbyfe's flat voice, fury burning just below the surface, didn't make it sound like one. "There is going to be hell to pay."

Greed, The Manhatten Ash Hotel

"Well, that'd be splendid."

Taking trophies of his defeated enemies sounds like a hobby worthy of a being of his caliber. Greed thought that maybe he should give it a shot too.

The homunculus returned a smile back to Zeal as she was about to leave.

"Take your time dear. I won't move an inch."

(...a few minutes later...)

Well, he did move a few inches. Into one of the seats.

"Aww...you didn't have to."

A toothy grin welcomed Zeal and the food she'd brought in with her. He took a look for himself as she placed it before him.

("Let's see...meat, looks like chicken...an interesting sauce I've never seen before...and that thing.")

'That thing' referred to the pizza, which Greed appreciated. He could spare to expand his culinary horizons a little. Gripping the side of the pizza, he tore out a piece. His lack of refinement meant he only managed to pull out a sliver, a sliver which promptly disappeared into his jaws.

"Mmm...not bad..."

It was then that the television caught his attention. A news channel showing what it claimed to be breaking news, filming what appeared to be a veritable swarm of people pouring out of a stadium. Oh yeah, that was breaking alright.

Greed cocked his head and gave Zeal a knowing little grin.

"Very nice. I believe that should be attracting some attention pretty soon..."

Said 'attention' was caught, as Greed caught witness of a man with a bow and arrow taking charge of the situation on the footage the news channel gave them. He seemed like a good first target.

The footage continued as the man with the bow was engulfed in a dust cloud, and an ear-rending shrill reached Greed's ears. To any normal human, this would've overloaded their senses. A homunculus shrugged it off like it was a gust of wind.

"Sounds like the party's starting. Tatu wants us to begin an attack on the heroes, right? They oughta be beelining to the source of that explosion I just heard."

He stood up, smiling and holding a hand to his would-be dance partner, if you could call what they were about to do a 'dance'.

"Shall we, milady?"

Glacius and Hol Horse, The SHIELD Helicarrier

Through the portal stepped an icy foot, then came the rest of the creature's body, sheeted in brilliant white ice and bone-like protrusions.

Glacius towered over the average man, but the voice that came out of him seemed more mild-mannered than anything.

"I am afraid you all must take the Trickster's words to heart. We are here to help you in an upcoming calamity."

Speaking of which...

The footage of the explosion played before the Seekers. 'Something'...blew up, and took an entire building with it.

Glacius might have recognized that building, he may have seen some record of it in his travels of Earth. But to see a paragon of human ingenuity be flattened in the blink of an eye...

Glacius remained silent. Meanwhile, out of the portal came another being, this time; a human male. Dressed in what would be acceptable attire to a character in a Spaghetti Western, Hol Horse slipped a cigarette into his mouth and pulled out a lighter.

"I'll never get used to those damned portals, will I-?"

His thick accent droned as he attempted to say more, but he was cut short by the footage of the explosion.

"...ah..."

Jaw agape, the cigarette fell, forgotten on the Helicarrier's ground.

Hol's next thought was to turn around and walk right back into the portal he came from. Unfortunately, he was frozen where he stood. His legs wouldn't obey him.

Not since the time he faced the great unknown that was DIO's Stand ability has Hol Horse ever felt 'true fear'.

And yet, there it was, slapping him in the metaphorical face.

Tira

Tira shifted back into her gloomy mood as she replied. Yes, we got your message. I am ready to run the streets of this city red with blood. Tira noted a few new people around as she looked. A funny looking man with a gas mask of some form on. Another guy holding a mask who looked like he was about to be sick. A old guy who was talking to someone else. And of course, the beastmen. They looked like they wanted to get started with the killing at once. Tira approved of this, and so she waved them over to her.

You there. Beasts. Come with me, and I will guide you to the slaughter. The plan is simple. No survivors. She then went through another mood shift.

Now come on, let's go have some fun! She said, practically bouncing at the prospect of so much killing. Anyone else wanna come with me?

With her piece said, she waited for the beastmen to come to her and, if no one took up her offer, she waited for the teleporter to turn on again.

Kitana

Kitana's response to Loki's speech was mostly to roll her eyes. She did note that he took the time to personally insult her. She would have to deal with that later, however, as no sooner did he finish then a report came in that someone had blown up a rather large building. The response was as expected, shock and anger. One of them, the one referred to as Elec Man, wanted to send in healers to look for anyone still alive. Kitana shook her head at this.

"We can't send in the healers yet. Whatever did this may still be down there, and if they are, then any healer you send will be walking into a slaughter. We must secure the area first before doing that."

Fletcher - Helicarrier

Fletcher watch the projection from his perch with a twisted sense of deja vu. This was the sort of scene that had happened in over a dozen movies, but this was not a movie. It was very real.

"We can't go down there. That dust is mix of concrete, brick, and asbestos. Anybody who needs to breath and goes down there will die of lung cancer in ten or twenty years. The Fire Department is prepared for this sort of thing. Most of the people down there are dead or buried under tons of rubble."

Fletcher teleported back down the group, resheathing his baseball bat.

"We just got here, and the minute we do, the Empire State goes down. If Moja and your guy knew something was happening here, what's to say they don't have a guy who knows about us?"

Mordin - Helicarrier

There had to have been several hundred people in that building, the majority of whom were now dead. Many more would die slowly, trapped under rubble, while others will have been injured to various extents by falling debris.

And they couldn't kill the people who did this.

"Boy is correct. Timing too accurate for coincidence. Presence must be known. Destruction either show of power, for intimidation purposes, or trap."
Tesseract - Overlord Station

Tesseract stood back, and watched Amon from afar. He could see that his attempts had only forced the man's feeling just beneath the surface, but that was enough to operate with.

"Miss Enterprise, would you please monitor the events and relay them to me? I do noty wish to be left out of the loop while Amon and I continue our work."

"Yes, sir." she said, scrambling over to the console and opening a few windows.

"Empire State is already down. The population of Yankee Stadium has run out into Manhattan and is rioting all over the place, looks like Zeal did it... We should warn Sy, sir, Tombstone operates in Manhattan."

"Do so."

Joan pulled up the communications channel, and began trying to contact Sy.

Eclipse

Yuyuko's eyes widened as the Empire State building, to her simply one of the more prominent skyscrapers of the Manhattan skyline, collapsed.

She got over the surprise rather quickly though. It was another factor to consider, but it was not a direct threat at the moment. The spirits were getting along on their way at a nice pace, so she contented herself with seeing more and more surround her lure, now completely obscured. Yet its effects were still palpable.

Around her, the air was getting more foggy, obscuring the graves furthest away from view, proof that Youmu was doing well.

Youmu caught the Empire State's collapse out of the corner of her eye, barely registering it, she continued on her duty, gathering mist. Which honestly just translated to flying up into the air and then using a bit of magic to get the clouds to descend to ground level.

Meanwhile the Prismrivers had each found a nice little spot for themselves in Queens, each on their own secluded suburban roof. They could see the others as blots of colour far away, which afforded them a sense of security. They weren't to play yet though. Not before the fog was thick enough. Fortunately, Youmu seemed to be getting along with that nicely. Wouldn't be too long now.

Sifuri

"Ah. Well said," said Seiga, shrugging in defeat. "My entire person, summed up like that."

Nitori would have been fuming, and Toph had a comeback at the tip of her tongue, but the Empire State building chose that moment to lose some height. It rather effectively stole the attention of all three, evn Toph who only had her sense of hearing to wrk with, flippant Norse god completely forgotten.

Inwardly, they agreed with Mordin and Fletcher's thoughts on the matter.

Toph half-felt like saying something good, but the thought of all those lives snuffed out kept her from doing so. The idea of being helpless as more died was utterly repellant. Just like in Commorragh. Still, getting themselves killed in the process wouldn't do anybody any favours. "Yeah, I agree with Crossed," coming up with a new nickname for Riesbyfe on the spot. "we need to figure out some way to save those people."

Nitori and Seiga likewise kept their mouths shut, though their reasoning was slightly different.

"I am really starting to hate that man..."

Sky didn't attempt to hide any disdain towards Loki. He was about to put more of his frustrations out when he saw what happened to the Empire State Building.

"This is no time for an argument." Assume told the SPD ranger when he saw the same thing. "Is there a way out of this transport? I'll head out and do some recon and I"m not doing any good while we stand here all day."

Vile, Helicarrier

"The hell do mean by self explanatory?" Vile was about to give Loki a metal fist in his face until he witnessed the Empire state building come tumbling down in an explosion. Vile leaned out of the Ride Armor in response to the footage.

"I don't know if Im the only one thinking this...but if we have been brought here to deal with the guys responsible for this, is it even possible that they could be aware of us showing up?" Vile threw the possibility out there with the thought that it may be taken into account.

Space Base

At Tatu’s words, the hairy lips of Molok’s mouth pulled back to expose his yellow teeth in a grimace—a smile, a grin, from a face that evolution had never intended to form such an expression. “Gooooooodh…”

The white-furred brute turned toward the teleporters, just in time to see the Master and Menardi step onto the platform. “With them!” he barked at his brothers, and with a series of enthusiastic brays, bleats and growls, the twenty-seven tzaangors crowded onto the teleport platform in the wake of the two Overlords.

“We go with youuuugh,” Molok said, thumping his hand against his breastplate. “We not carrrre wherrre; let you deciiiiide.” The beastman made his hand into a fist and flexed his shaggy arm, bunching up his bicep. “We strrrrrrrrongh, and rrready to kill. We tzaangorrrrhs; me Molok, chief of tzaangorrrhs…”

“Hey, why you chief?” one of the others demanded suddenly, stepping forward. “Why Molok chief, and not Baf-Met?”

Molok spun around and backhanded his challenger across the face, knocking him to the floor.

“Because Molok oldest and strrrongest, Baf-Met,” he growled. “Lorrrd Ah-hree-man make Molok firrrst, beforrre rrrest of yough.” He pointed with one furry finger, still keeping his laser rifle trained on the ceiling. “Baf-Met learrrn place and not challenge Molok again, orrr Molok carrrve out Baf-Met hearrrt. Nursing his jaw, Baf-Met glowered up at his white-furred brother. “Get,” he growled.

“Good.” Molok turned to face the Master and Menardi once more. “Molok and brrrotherrrs at you dishposaaaalh…”

"You," he said, indicating Fletcher, "Can you get me down there?"

Riesbyfe crossed her arms and glared harder, if that were even possible.

Fletcher and Mordin - Helicarrier

After shooting Vile an exasperated look, Fletcher teleported in front of Elec Man.

"You heard frog guy, 50-50 chance of it being a trap."

"Would put possibility of trap at 75 to 80%."

"Even worse. And even if it isn't a trap, you want to go straight to a place that contains a person powerful enough to knock the Empire State Building down."

"Would also caution against offense. No knowledge of enemy forces. Prior warnings dire."

Fletcher shrugged. He'd seen what blindly attacking without information could do back in the War of the Sanctuaries. It wasn't pretty.

On a whim, he tried to teleport Central Park, just to see if he could. No dice, unfortunately.

"Also, I can't teleport down there. My exit points seem to reset whenever we go to a new universe."

Maria Renard & B.B. Hood, Helicarrier

Maria glanced over at the others at when Loki yelled at them and nodded her head toward the others though she looked very reluctant. Loki was the native here, after all.

"I am Maria Renard, Miss Hill." Maria added for the other Maria after Loki's long introduction and Armani's correction. "It will be difficult to coordinate if we both call ourselves Maria, so you may call me by my last name."

However, Hill's skepticism was soon ended as the entire group saw the Empire State Building being destroyed.

"All those people..." Maria said in a hushed tone, her eyes widened in the sheer horror of the destruction.

"...That ain't a normal explosion!" B.B. Hood pointed out from the video feed after watching it replayed in slow motion. "I know my explosives and I can guarantee that explosion was magical at its core."

"It's also directed to destroy in the most efficient way with the least amount of effort," B.B. Hood continued in a somber way. "Our bomber mage knows his stuff."

"However, one positive is that our bomber mage is in the sky since he'd wanna avoid his own destruction," B.B. Hood noted to the others. "We can use that knowledge to our advantage."

"Gavrill's in shock," B.B. Hood had glanced over at Gavrill when she spoke in shock. "Now that truly scares me."

In reality, B.B. Hood was most scared she had been in her life, and trying to hide it behind her Darkhunter persona. That sort of blatant destruction... an all out war for control of the planet. That will have causalities even among themselves. And they aren't allowed to kill?!

Eclipse

Schala, New York City Skies

Maria wasn't the only one in shock from the destruction of the Empire State Building. Schala had been expecting the destruction, but to see it first hand from Desco was another thing entirely... With the destruction of the Empire State Building, Schala knew that it was too late for her to be saved, especially since she was Desco's familiar now. While she knew Tatu had recruited Desco and she knew Desco was willing to kill, she didn't knew just how destructive Desco really, truly was. It was now truly clear to her that Desco was the Final Weapon she said she was, and that Schala had inadvertently become her Vassal. Schala had to accept the fact that she was evil now for both Desco's sake and hers.

Queen Zeal, Manhattan Ash Hotel

Queen Zeal shrugged off the explosion of the Empire State Building herself as well. She was both a homunculus and Asgardian now, after all.

"Of course, but... We should be cautious," Zeal nodded to Greed as she changed back into her usual attire. "Let us fly there since the Empire State Building is nearby."

"You can Flame On and turn Invisible and I..." Zeal began using her magical power to lift herself up into the air and put an illusion around herself that cloaks her from sight. "Well, flight and invisibility is easy if you know the proper magic."

"The heroes will likely come in from the sky to avoid the ground-level devastation and then we can just ambush them out of the sky," Zeal concluded, as she opened the window to the balcony and then took off with Greed.

"If the situation goes too bad for us or they start attacking the hotel, we teleport out of there, understand?" Zeal told Greed, knowing that Dalton would inform her via the communicator if the hotel was under attack. "I can teleport back to the hotel to defend it without using Tatu's teleporter."
