JAFAAC: Karmic Death

It seems to be a guy on fire. If anything else is going on, I can't tell. Low quality.

It's a burning Klansman. Not JAFAAC.

It is, however, too low-quality to make that identifiable, at least in my opinion.

It's squashed horizontally...here's◊ what it's supposed to look like.

Must be because of my inability to tell Klansmen from bed-sheet ghosts and villains who look like them. Bad guy on fire still doesn't really seem like a good image to me, but I guess it is.

Picture looks good to me.

If there's no further objections, let's lock 'er up.

It relies not only on expecting the average user to identify him as a Klansman, but also expecting them to agree that they deserve to die. Here are some more directly indicative examples.

I thought about that. We really just need a new caption - how about "It's funny because he's a Klansman and they like to burn things!"?

I think that if you don't know what a Klansman looks like (yep, reference pools can be that small) or even agree with their ideas, it doesn't come across as Karmic.

That and there are several degrees of separation between disagreeing with the KKK's ideas and assuming that anyone involved in the KKK deserves to die.

That's the problem right there, motion to pull.

The Gaston/Beast pic is right out, as that first panel is already in use on Ugly Hero, Good-Looking Villain.

Dark Reprise uses Villain Song's image as its first panel, you don't see that one being taken down. There's a difference between pages having the same image and one being part of another's image.

EDITED IN: Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have a problem with the Frollo one being used instead; I actually slightly prefer it; I'm just saying that particular reason against the Gaston one hardly seems like a reason for it to be "right out."

Hmmmm...you raise a good point, but IIRC the Villain Song / Dark Reprise example was deliberately done that way since those two tropes could be tied together in that way. I suppose we could try to make that work here, but I think I'd rather try to find a different pic before we do that.

In any case, here is a (slightly) higher-quality version of the Frollo one.

That looks good, but I'm not seeing the "karmic" in that death. This, ideally, needs a pic showing the villain doing his thing and then the death, making the karmic aspect obvious.

My initial accusation of JAFAAC was due to my own Critical Research Failure, but I think the Frollo pic is a good idea. It's higher quality, at least.

Willbyr's point is a valid one though, just looks like two frames showing off a Disney Villain Death (which it is) rather than showing it be karmic.

Objecting to the Frollo image on the grounds that the current picture is not a JAFAAC.

I know. If I could go back and change the thread's title, I would. The only reason I can come up with (I mean, "up with which I can come") to change the image is slightly poor quality.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who would make the mistake of not knowing how the KKK members dress and what they do.

The question is not whether or not the KKK one is acceptable, but whether or not the Frollo one is better. The KKK one relies not only on recognizing the KKK robes just by seeing them (made a little less obvious by the already-mentioned poor quality) but agreeing that someone deserves to die just because they got involved in the KKK.

One demonstrating evil intentions as obviously as the Frollo one is an obvious improvement.
