So, um, about that mecha RP I wanted to start...
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Would anyone be interested in a Toaru Majutsu no Index RP based off of New Testament's Natural Selector tournament?
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialI once tried making a Cthulu Mythos RP set in 1773, recently after the Boston Tea Party where it tells the story of people who go to a legendarily creepy trading town called Innsmouth...Both it and it's reboot died.
Good to be backWelp, I'm going to post a little expansion upon that Starlancer RP concept I came up with earlier, see what people think.
It is the 23rd century, and mankind finds itself in the throes of war once more. It has been almost a hundred years since the conflict started.
On one side is the Western Alliance, a conglomerate of the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, and Spain. They find themselves arrayed against the Eastern Coalition, composed of Russia, China, and Egypt, as well as various South-East Asian and Middle Eastern states. The battleground? The Sol system.
The Alliance is losing, pushed back time and time again by an aggressive and formidable enemy. Their only hope - barring a miraculous reversal of fortunes - lies in a plan to start again in another area of space. But to do that, they need time.
And that's where the 206th "Strikers"* Volunteer Squadron comes in. Accepting almost anyone with a pulse and even rudimentary flight training, they are to stem the tide (or better yet, reverse it) using a wide variety of Alliance fightercraft, each with their own quirks and capabilities*. Their homebase is the ANS Victory*, one of the newest carriers to launch from Alliance shipyards.
Their survival? Uncertain. The dangers? Many. The reward? Immortality as a latter-day legend: the people who saved the Alliance and gave it a future.
Just think of this post as an interest check; it'll be a long time yet before I start this RP (I have two other concepts that I'd like to do first), but I want to ensure my effort isn't for naught.
If anyone has any questions, ask away!
Locking you up on radar since '09Would Freelancer factor into it at all? 'cause I've only played that.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.I've got something that you'd consider an idea. Not sure how good it will work, but hey, it's something.
What if there's an RP where every character is (more or less) a normal human living in the small town of [insert-name-here] that, for one reason or another, just so happens to be the epicenter of all the other-wordly kind of shiz that goes down in the world? And a few people who happen to get caught up in the beginning of it all just so happen to be appointed as the town's defenders from more of it?
That's really all I got so far.
Buffy the RP?
To be honest I only vaguely know about Buffy but I guess so. Just not tied to Buffy.
Since this would basically be "Let's Play Through The Events Leading Up To The Freelancer Intro!", in an indirect sense the answer is yes. I've also only played Freelancer*, but I've been poring over Starlancer material in an attempt to remain faithful to the source.
However, since it's slightly closer to the Freelancer era (even if only by a small amount), some things will have changed - we're unlikely to be piddling about in Coyotes, Shrouds, and all (though upgraded variants may appear, alongside old Coalition favourites like the Basilisk).
And since I think everyone would be unfamiliar with stars and the lancing thereof, I'd be perfectly happy to explain things as they come up (and point out potential tactics/dangers). My main concerns would be keeping things fresh and actually having enough players (though since this would be started a good long while from now, this may/may not be a problem).
Locking you up on radar since '09Would anyone actually be interested in my above idea? I'm not sure if I'll do it, but maybe someone else could?
So I was playing Diplomacy and got be thinking about making a new RP based on the system.
Where the God of War has died or been killed or fired or retired or something and now the spot is vacant. So the other gods have this grand contest where they each select a champion to fight in this world war and whoever is victorious would be the new god of war. The players would be one of these champions and fight it out on a map using the gameplay of Diplomacy. This means secret alliances, backstabbing, and conquest until one reign supreme as a new god!
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimHmm... Interested, but I have no prior experience with the game.
UhHere's the rules. You can learn them in five minutes, seriously. We'd probably use a different map than the one you see there. Maybe even make up a totally new one.

Trying to do a law enforcement cyberpunk RP with a mix of Rainbow Six.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"So if anyone likes crossovers, eh-heh...
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."
After seeing this, I've begun thinking of making an RPG based off it...
