I sincerely hate people like this.
Yes, because clearly, vindicating your petty agenda against the man is the only reason he doesn't deserve to die.
That said, as pointed out by another person quoted in that article, he has full right to say it. It's just a stupid thing to say. An incredibly stupid, insensitive, callous, and altogether moronic thing to say.
go ahead and do every stupid thing you can imagineIn fairness, hardly a day goes by where someone* doesn't wish for Cheney's balls to drop off.
I'm a skeptical squirrelQuite a few people wish to perform Ninjutsu's ''monkey steals the pouch'' on Cheney, mostly as retaliation for stealing our collective pouch.
You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.Anyone who still cares about Dick Cheney needs to learn to get over things.
This thread is about a guy saying it was tempting to assassinate Obama. Not The Dick.
go ahead and do every stupid thing you can imagineViolent rhetoric from an obviously partisan individual. What a surprise.
It's not as if the Left doesn't have its share of delusional fools who talk about doing all sorts of nasty things to Right-wing politicians, deservedly or not. Likewise, the Right, obviously, has people who talk about doing all sorts of nasty things to the Left-wing politicians, deservedly or not. Nothing new, really...
I am now known as Flyboy.Yup, mudslinging and such goes both ways, and is a long-standing tradition in politics.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter! It's become so inevitable for someone to say "both sides do it" that it's easy to tune the phrase out as meaningless babble. It's important to remember that in this case, both sides really do it.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulWhy is this news?
Enjoy the Inferno...TBH, I think the only reason we didn't hear many cracks about assassinating Bush back in the day is because people knew it meant Cheney would be in charge.
Apparently I am adorable, but my GF is my #1 Groupie. (Avatar by Dreki-K)Very true. VP's are like that. Palin's the reason I voted for Obama.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!^^ There was a movie made about assassinating Bush. It caused a fuckton of rage on both sides.
Needless to say, the media downplayed the assassination stunts against Bush people on the left made. Now, they act like it is unprecedented to have the same thing for Obama.

Oh hell yes. I almost was praying for Obama to be elected just so I wouldn't have to put up with four years of Palin in the White House.
Apparently I am adorable, but my GF is my #1 Groupie. (Avatar by Dreki-K)People prefer Joe Biden over Sarah Palin?
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.Because racism.
I really wanted to vote for Mc Cain, I really did. But when a man his age is President, the VP is only a few heartbeats away from being in charge of the country. And Palin could not do that.
Yes. Very yes. And for the above reason, Palin would be more likely to become acting President than Biden anyways.

Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter! Were it so easy.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."I saw at least as many threats to Bush back in the day, so at least it's "fair".
Doesn't matter which side it's coming from, though. That kind of joke is never cool.

This is why I can never admit I was born and raised in Texas. We have governors hopped up on booze and muscle relaxers and crap like this. And you think this is bad, try Texas A&M (you know, the place Rick Perry graduated from.) Oh yeah, we also cake surrounding states in chemical smog, that's fun too.
But seriously, I'm embarrassed to have been born in Texas.

This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioThe difference between threats against bush and threats against Obama was that I never heard of anyone holding any position of office making 'subtle' threats against Bush in public speeches.
Obama has to deal with a lot of weird stuff. *shrug*
Anyway, violent rhetoric about the presidents has always existed. It's just that this particular president is president at a time when the more radical parts of the political machine are making themselves felt particularly strongly, and thus the threats and crackpots aren't as ignorable as they usually are. And it's seeping into the more mainstream parts of the Republicans, sadly.
Threats by random crazies is nothing new and part of the job, its when the politicians start to do this shit, even subtly, does it become worrisome.
I mean think about it, when that congresswoman was shot, EVERYONE'S first thought was "was this due to violent rhetoric?"
Let's face it, Thorn - It WAS due to violent rhetoric! That, or someone who got sick of being pushed around by both big business/big gov't.
(Off Sunject)I remember the guy who shot that Congressbitch to be a bit insane - he was talking about forging his own currency, for one thing.
So yeah. Just another day of Congress failing its people royally!

This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioAre you talking about that lady from Arizona? Because I'm pretty sure she was actually fairly popular.
Also, calling someone a Congressbitch is in poor taste. You can talk about someone you don't like in far more neutral terms.
Or at least said it was tempting.
