"This is bridge. We have everything more or less under control." A pleasant voice replied. "Primary power appears to be coming back. Life support reports minor damage that should be taken care of shortly."
"Where are we?"
"According to reports from the Ozymandias, we are now in orbit above Tuchanka."
"Any directives for me from the Ozymandias?"
"None so far. We'll keep you updated."
"Roger that. Arioc out."
Syven sat down. That Rach'an fellow was handling himself quite well, despite having appeared as a very nervy sort of person at their first meeting when he came aboard the ship.
A goggled, heavily armored batarian sat on a crate, speaking into his omnitool.
"... Yeah, Saar, I know that. But I couldn't have foreseen the freighter I arrived in being impounded, could I?"
A deep krogan voice replied from the other end of the line. "And you have my thanks for delivering the goods despite such setbacks. But I've paid you enough to hire a ride out of here, so go look for it yourself."
"When do you think the next freighter will show up to this pisshole, anyway? You and I both know I've got places to be."
"I'm not a travel agency, Kardan. We've both fulfilled the terms of the contract, and I don't have enough strings to pull to do you a favor right now."
"Well, at least give me a damn shipping schedule or..." The batarian took a glance upward, then promptly forgot what he was about to say.
"Never mind. I think I've found my ticket out of here."

Tuchanka. While Amy had never personally been to the barren planet herself, she felt inclined to believe that this was one place where very accurate assumptions needed to only be made from orbit. Needless to say, the assumptions that the planet was a barren wasteland were far from incorrect.
Amy stayed silent, waiting for an order or a direction to go in, peering out before them all the while. Her grip tightened and loosened rhythmetically on the handle of her Revenant, the only personal thoughts running through her head being a clear doubt they'd find anything here, but she wasn't saying a word. Considering the condition they came here in, Amy'd like to believe in miracles just this once.
And a miracle did come, in a sign that there actually was life here, although the particular Batarian she spotted may or may not have actually been around here.
"Batarian up ahead. Probably not from here, all things considered, but that'd be a start.", she said, nudging the business end of her Revenant his way for her superiors.
A few moments later, Rach'an was entering one of the primary generator rooms, thoroughly engrossed in his Omni-tool before turning his attention... apparently not to where he had intended, instead recoiling in alarm at the sight of a Drell lounging around.
"Ga- wheredidyoucomefrom!?", he murmured, double checking to make sure he didn't miss anyone else in the room.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillSyven almost raised his eyebrows in mild amusement, but he controlled himself.
"From the front of your eyes. Or do you want the long story of how I began this day?"
One human out front with a Revenant. Probably more behind.
"Good doing business with you, Saar." Kardan cut the line. Standing up, he spread his arms wide, hands far removed from the weapons on his back and side.
If they open fire, he could still fall back behind the crate, and slip out of sight. Fall back to the merc camp and lie low for a while, try his luck elsewhere.
"I saw you. You can come out. I'm not here to fight; I need a ride off-planet."
Una cast a quick glance at the batarian. "I've heard there's this lovely thing called transport companies, nowadays." She said, heading towards a shack that looked halfway official. "Talk to the captain." She nodded in Kate's direction.
A krogan in strange, quilt-like armor observed the landed crew from some distance, paying extra attention to the ships they had emerged from. "Now that's a fixer-upper if I ever saw one." He mumbled to himself, his voice deep and raspy. "Guess it's time to go say howdy."

Liveblog | DeadblogRach'an shrank a bit at the response, clearly wounded, although he probably had that coming. "Sorry, i didn't... i'llbeoutofyourwayinasecond...", he said, turning his attention to the console and letting himself get absorbed in his work, trying to finish as quickly as possible. At the same time, however, he tried to keep himself aware of the fact that there was someone else in the room, and that he'd want to know if they spoke up or left.
"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank HillKardan brushed off the asari's snub, and walked up to the human she had gestured at.
"Transport companies can't carry what I carry in my line of work." He declared. "Kardan M'Kret, gun for hire."
Syven sidled up to the side of the console, keeping himself in view of the batarian engineer in order to avoid startling him.
"Relax." He smiled a little. "I presume you're Rach'an? Good work with thruster 2. You performed well under pressure."

Deimos stepped off the shuttle, taking a look around the barren landscape that was before him. He wondered briefly how anyone could possibly live on this rock as he strode over to where the others were.
"We always go such nice places," he said, kicking a rock with his boot. Despite the joking, he was a little on edge; a room full of potentially angry krogan was one thing, a planet full of them was another.
Nothing to see here. Move along.Marik grunted as he stepped off as well. "Still, it beats Omega."
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!Kate was characteristically unimpressed.
"That's all very well and good. We look like we'll need guns? I say we've got enough. What else can you do?"
Curse the ill fortune that led you to me."'scuse me, son." The patchwork-armored Krogan approached Deimos. "That your boat?" He nodded towards the Ozymandias.
Una took a brief moment to go over the tips she knew for interacting with Krogans. Once she reached the landing area shack, she opened it without knocking, no point in being polite.

Liveblog | Deadblog"If you're looking to hire me I suppose you'll need my resume." Kardan replied. "Former NCO of the Batarian Hegemony's Special Intervention Unit. Trained Blue Suns commandos in the past. I've fought krogan, turian, human, salarian, asari, vorcha, and batarian insurgent groups. I do most jobs as long as the payment's reasonable. Only thing I won't do is anything having to do with slaves; attracts too much attention from the Hegemony and always turns out to be a mess. I have a number of contacts among robbers, mercenaries, and smugglers. I can pass on any contracts I get sent my way to you, if you'll give me a contract broker's fee. If you want me to train people, you'll need to pay extra. Otherwise, all I ask for is room, board, and fair compensation for any problem that needs my guns."

Deimos nodded. "You've got a point, Marik," he said. Just then, he noticed a strangely armored krogan approaching.
"Yeah, I'm part of the crew," Deimos said, responding to the krogan.
Nothing to see here. Move along.Despite the Drell's precaution, Rach'an did jump a bit. He looked back with raised eyebrows, as if questioning how he knew him. "Uh, yeah, that was me. Thanks..." Rach'an started to turn back to his Omni-tool, then turned his head back, eyes narrowed, studying the drell for any familiarity. "Um... have we met before? Because i havenocluewhoyouarebutyouknowme."
While Amy wasn't one to eavesdrop, there wasn't much to really do, so to speak. Until she got orders, all she could really do was stand around.
The Batarians 'resume' seemed pretty colorful, or grey enough to encompass most areas where firepower was needed. However, this only was rewarded with an unseen glare from the woman as she watched the conversation continue. In particular, she noted one of his four eyes, a scar running underneath the goggles he wore. Maybe they'll send him my way and i can see firsthand what got him into that scuffle, she found herself thinking.

"You lost, Dio. You lost for one simple reason - you were using charcoal." - Hank Hill"Drell remember everything they experience, and someone in my position learns to be attentive." Syven explained. "I've noticed you working all around the ship since I came onboard. It wasn't difficult to put the pieces together."

Well, that was odd, Deimos thought to himself as the krogan suddenly retracted whatever he was going to say. He made no comment on it, however.
"Well, we were hit by some ship. Not entirely sure why, could've been pirates or something. Regardless, they messed us up pretty bad, as you can see," Deimos said, gesturing to the Ozymandias. "We're just here to get some repairs done."
Nothing to see here. Move along.Marik nodded. "Yes, so if you could please direct us to such assistance?" He seems nice enough, for a krogan. I still wish we had landed somewhere else. Somewhere less inherently inhospitable.

Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!Of course there aren't many, it's Tuchanka. "Unless?" Marik asked hopefully.

Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!"Excellent," Deimos said, surprised at their luck. They had just barely set foot on Tuchanka and they had already found a repairman.
"We should tell the captain the news," Deimos said to Marik. Turning back to the krogan, he asked: "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name?"
Nothing to see here. Move along.Seeing no Kate in the bridge, Jordan turned to look at the Galaxy Map, currently zoomed in on Tuchanka.
"...don't think I'll be going down there," he said mostly to himself, before walking off the bridge.
"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."Giuseppe Wong slapped his hand against the garbage on the worktable, causing the broken mass effect generator to fall off. He read the note a second time to make sure it wasn't some joke.
Joe... looks like the Krogan Peace Corps isn't taking off like I thought. I sold the shuttle. You still can keep all the spare parts, I'm sure that's worth more than the credits you were going to make off the repair work. Just clear everything out in five days before the rent's due and that damned landlord charges in here.
Well how the hell am I supposed to sell them? He though. How do I even get off this planet if that damned Turian took the shuttle? This is the last time I take a job from Laura. With that, he stepped out, locked the door, and went to the port.

Getting everyone to the ground safely was somewhat challenging, but eventually, Una found her feet planted on Tuchankan soil. It was just as barren and blasted as she expected. "Joy." She said to herself, scouting for some sort of a port authority, or whoever whose quads she'd have to disintegrate to get anything done in this place.
