Ranking in the bottom of developed Nations is like being the worlds smallest giant; I can live with 21 out of 200.
Let's make a TCG!Problem is the U.S. should score much higher then that. It is a sad sign of the times we are so low on that scale.
Who watches the watchmen?Let's see social justice, social justice, I (and you) have the Internet which supplies an endless stream of entertainment for free. I have a Nintendo DS, and I have easy access to decent food water and porn. Yeah, not seeing the problem here.
Let's make a TCG!Eh... I think the US will get a higher ranking soon... not too soon, but soon.
In their eyes. They are but one of many opinions.
Is this topic to rant about their score?
Do people seriouly rave over this, it's like being called the 20th richest man on Earth, get over yourself America. I'm gonna go play Pokemon and watch cable, have fun whining.
Let's make a TCG!
lowering your standards, the best way to keep failing while feeling good about yourself.
you could also say it's like being the 3rd dumbest kid in private school. sure, you still get to brag that you're going to private school, but you'd better hope nobody wants to continue the conversation after that.
"Why should I care that all our social justices are going away? I got pokemons!" is not a view to be proud of.
Talk about being complacent.
And yes, I understand your view, I wish I too could jsut do the things I love and ignore it all (which most of the time I try to do) but sometimes you need to stop and realize that people are suffering around you.

Are you referring to me?
No, Justice's view of "So you're only 20th of the best, so what?"

You realize that's in the top 10% right? On a Curve were an A, and if you weight it, I'm pretty sure we're skyrocketed. I'd be a lot more respectful of this survey if it weren’t only for the developed world.
Here's another link: http://visualeconomics.creditloan.com/income-distribution-by-country/
See that huge patch of Blue? That's Africa aka- The Most Fucked Up Place in the World; the only reason we even have CLOSE to the same number sin the 1st world are because that Graph is relative.
The median household income in the United States is $46,326. Eighty FUCKING percent of humanity lives on less than ten buck a day. Less than 42% of the planet is democratic (even less discounting the “democracies”) So when i see some, white, middle-class basement dwelling internet user with running water a ps3 and a stack full of hot pockets snub there nose at how "America's really going downhill" I want to strangle somebody. So were on the short end of the big players, that still puts us among the most privileged on Earth, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

Let's make a TCG!So why not reform and get higher on the list? 1 million on food stamps, as opposed to 37 million?
Interesting. Italy is ranked higher than Australia in social justice? I wouldn't have guessed that in the least...
But then, I will admit that I do not know much about Australia — I know that it's silly, but my mental image of it is more or less "Canada, but with better weather" .

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.Australia has some issues with certain minorities like the Aboriginals, whose chances at a proper life are royally screwed over by shitty government policies, AFAIK.
RE: Second world countries being communists: this is nonsense. The division between first, second, and third world doesn't work on the type of government a country has, it works on level of development.
"That said, as I've mentioned before, apart from the helmet, he's not exactly bad looking, if a bit...blood-drenched." - juancarlosFirst world, second world and third world are terms from the Cold War, as I believe was mentioned before. Second World refers to Communist states within the Eastern bloc.
@Justice Man: even the already higher-ranked countries are still trying to grind out whatever remaining social problems they have left. There is absolutely no reason not for the US to do the same. No one should ever say "it's good enough".
Your posts remind me of the guy in class who only got a D and justifies himself by saying some other kids got Es and Fs.
If i'm the only guy in the class with a D then yes its something to be proud of. (Most sane professors would grade that on a curve.)
And even then if you do the math; it's be more like having a 3.67 GPA and being Jealous of the Valedictorian.
Let's make a TCG!So you're fine with your country getting shitter as long as its less shitty than other countries?
Man, I'm so pissed off that my country isn't even in the top 10 >.>
Dutch LesbianYou're obviously are too well-off to even care. It's a sign of major egotism when someone isn't satisfied with being in one of the Richest Most Powerful and Freest Nations on earth. Let's see how you'd like in it Burkina Faso if you're so unsatisfied with your horrible easy access to plenty of food, television and the internet.
I'm satisfied with my comicbooks, television, internet food and videogames, that doesn't make me less moral it makes me not a greedy bastard. America is a goddamn paradise compared to most of the world, and I thank God everyday I was lucky enough to be born here, if some people want to belly ache over some popularity contests with the other Rich White me they can be my guest.

Let's make a TCG!So what, I just basically shut up and try not to improve my country because its "Lol First World Problems?"
Dutch LesbianNo, I'm saying that no one in the First World has anywhere near a right to complain; especially in a list that ranks us above 90% of the planet. Just by being in the US, you're in the Upper Class of the World.
Let's make a TCG!Justice, my country is listed 15th >.>
Dutch LesbianI find myself half agreeing with Justice man...
but "doing good" is relative, so why I agree on the over arching big picture, in terms of the pain felt by people just by the virtue of living in this world, is more or less the same for all relatively poor/abused/neglected people. It doesn't devalue someone's bad situation just because it could be worse.
but on the big picture, i agree. but on the picture as for the developed world, im less likey too when im facing collection agencies trying to get a bill from me that exceedes my monthly income that is entirely my electric and food bill, and I have no job or even a highschool degree and the government fucks me over when i try to go to the DMV or whatever so i can finally get a state ID so I can take the damn GED test finally.
as of the 2nd of Nov. has 6 weeks for a broken collar bone to heal and types 1 handed and slowlyI'm satisfied with my comicbooks, television, internet food and videogames, that doesn't make me less moral it makes me not a greedy bastard. America is a goddamn paradise compared to most of the world, and I thank God everyday I was lucky enough to be born here, if some people want to belly ache over some popularity contests with the other Rich White me they can be my guest.
Ok, your satisfied, but what about 1 in 5 children who live in poverty? How about 37 million who use food stamps? How about the millions who loose their homes due to bad luck, while the rich spend millions on luxury every year?
This only matters if you view them as an authority. I do not.
