I'll get Just Cause 3 on PC when I have a 4K monitor.

Ohhh... guess it's time to place my preorder for the PS 4 version. Would've gotten it for the PC but... well, that's an expensive upgrade. That won't be happening for awhile.

The wait for this feels longer than the wait for Phantom Pain. Only this time I won't be left with a phantom pain. Hopefully.

Hearing that the game currently has a lot of performance & load time issues on consoles at the moment. That includes the 'day 1' patch. Bummer. Hopefully they can make some further optimizations. For a game that went gold over a month before release, it really sounds like it could have used more time in the oven.

Sorry, but any spec requirement list that tells you to buy Intel's most expensive Core i7 37xx processor is a complete and utter piss take. Not everyone can afford to spend over three hundred pounds on just a processor.

Well... I've been playing the game for a bit. Thought I'd share some thoughts on how it's like with y'all. Might help some of you who are on the fence decide on whether to get the game or not.

First off, it keeps what made Just Cause 2 a success along with some new ideas, but it doesn't take any major game-changing ideas or risks. You've got the grappling hook, parachute, and the new wingsuit, which just as in the previous games is typically both the best way to travel and fight. The wingsuit takes some getting used to though, especially since it loses a lot of speed and momentum when making sharp turns and can easily get knocked out of the air by trees, power poles, but it's the quickest way to travel save for jets and helicopters. The grappling hook is still the best weapon in your arsenal, only now it's even more flexible with the tethering mechanic; it basically allowing you to attach two objects together and then rapidly reel them in together, often causing destroying them. Oh, and you get a ton of upgrades for it later on, including multi-tethers, increased tether strength and length, etc. It's even easier now to wipe out an outpost now without even firing a single bullet.

You've now got a much better reason to start attacking the outposts this time. Not only does the outpost or town's capture unlock new challenge courses, some of them may unlock unique weapons, vehicles and supply drops. Even better, you won't have to worry about the facility respawning everything when you're gone: once it's destroyed, the rebels take it over, meaning it becomes a safe haven for you. Some of the vehicles that spawn within the captured outposts are definitely worth it too, it's not just lame technical pickups and trucks anymore.

The story is... unremarkable. Certainly better written and just a wee bit less ridiculous than the last two games, but it's still pretty out there and often feels like a campy Expendables movie in most cases.

There's one gripe that I cannot ignore or forgive though: the loading times. On average, expect to wait from one to two whole minutes (sometimes even more) for the game to load whenever you're booting up or being warped to a different part of the world map. This also happens whenever you initiate one of the challenges scattered around the towns and outposts; the racing challenges have somewhat reasonable load times that take only 20 seconds or so, but dear lord are the demolition frenzy challenges painful to restart. My theory is that the game struggles to reset all the previously destroyed items and assets around the outposts, because they frequently take the longest to load out of all the other challenges.

Glitches are pretty common too, but my playthrough on the PS 4 has mostly been smooth. I've only encountered the smaller bugs such as odd physics, objects suddenly popping in out of nowhere - nothing too worrisome, except for how that also affects the enemy spawning. VERY frequently they'll appear in improbable locations, or even directly behind you when you know that there is no possible way they could've reach that location. It's disappointing to think that little gripe

TL;DR? It's a good game, and you'll definitely enjoy it if you were a fan of Just Cause 2, but it's got a lot of bugs to have sorted out. Unless it's the only game you have your eyes on it might be a good idea to postpone your purchase until some patches smooth out the issues, especially if you're planning on getting the PC version.

I love how the enemies have a larger variety of vehicles and weapons to attack you with this time around.

I do miss being able to sprint. Rico's on-foot speed is kinda slow, which leaves you with grappling as your only fast traversal method, but that's too easy to mess up in high tension situations with lots of explosions and enemies. Missing that middle ground for just getting around a corner before you're turned to Swiss cheese.

Does anyone know any good strategy to defeat the heavy mini-gunner enemies other then spam tons of homing glass grenades at them. Every time they show up I end up using my valuable explosives.

I usually never have a problem with those guys, but that's probably because I tend to keep a distance from them or blast them with a helicopter. But if you're stuck on foot, I believe they're still very vulnerable to the grappling hook and can even be ragdolled around. Just don't ever bother with bullets, it takes almost two entire assault rifle clips at point blank to kill them.

Also I'm surprised that a the Black Hand Mercenaries from Just Cause 1 are back. Not a lot of stuff from Just Cause 1 ever really gets acknowledged and now they make up a pretty significant part of Di Ravello's forces.

Welp JC3 appears to run worse on AMD chipsets than on Intel ones.

Hahahaha wonderful.

AMD is pretty much on the receiving end when it comes to issues, which is why I never bought thier stuff.
