It's so you buy microtransaction cards.
Which I get are the reason why every bit of DLC is free after you buy the base game... I would just like to actually have that be the case now instead of low payouts.
Well, I'm getting sick of it. I'd rather go back to the days when games were all about having fun and doing what you wanted, without being badgered for more money all the time.
I'd much rather pay for the DLC once and then be left alone to have fun with it, without this constant microtransaction badgering. Games like Fallout and Assassins Creed know how to do this right.

Optimism is a duty.I've taken to just asking for Hackers to drop money because honestly fuck microtransactions.
This game is fun but it is shit when it comes to actually accessing the stuff yourself, you have to rely on other people to invite you to missions if you want to try anything.
Fallout no longer knows what it's like.
Fallout installed a 30-gig Creation Club on your hard drive, bumping the total file size from 60 gigs to a whopping 90 Gigs. What's in this extra space? Only every Creation Club mod anyone's ever made, whether you've bought that mod or not. Whether you want that mod or not. Whether you have the 30 G space to spare or not. Yeah.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youPersonal theory:
GTA Online protagonists are Ajin.
They are much tougher and stronger than expected of most humans, killing them doesn't keep them down; they retain their memories, clothing, and carried items when they resurrect...
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youMan, in Let's Plays, that Heist master dude is incredibly incredibly annoying,
Always constantly nagging the player
Nagging the player while the player WHILE they're getting shot full of holes
Complaining and negging the player even when they succeed on their missions.
God damn. Let me guess, If I go to the Trope Page, the Heist director will be under The Scrappy.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youSo I got GTAV, and for the first time EVER in any game, I skipped the single player campaign and jumped right into GTA Online.
This may be the best game ever.
The mechanics are clunky and unrefined, sure, and I kinda hate the third person combat, but the sheer variety of gameplay, the hugeness of the map, and the thousands of different vehicles and dozens of dozens of heists...
I can't remember the last time I had this much fun.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youGTA Online is a lot of fun. But my god the microtransactions are tedious.
Do outfits have ANY effect? If I saunter onto a military base with a military uniform, will I be allowed?
Alternately, is there a way to sneak onto base to steal planes?
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youYes you can break into bases to steal planes. My go to method is to run in and just gun it out.
It takes me a full clip of anything to kill a man, though. Also, I don't have explosives to deal with tanks and jeeps. Can I helicopter in? Maybe I could steal a news chopper, land, and steal a jet.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThat's how I did it before I bought my own plane.
Don't bother fighting the soldiers, just parachute in, get in a plane and get out of there.
Optimism is a duty.Seriously, just run.
Would I be able to keep this stolen plane?
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youNo. You need to buy your own.
Dang. Well. I guess I gotta start saving. No more buying musical horns for all my cars XD
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI'm a little bummed out that the Missions and Heists are so punishing of creativity.
We failed the Humane Labs Heist mission with the buyer and the ambush so many times we started to plot ways to beat the mission by meta-gaming but the game knew exactly what we were trying to do and deleted all of our careful preparations.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youThe idea is that it balances the game for everyone, but I agree that it is often annoying.
It's especially annoying when they nerf cars/weapons that you just spend many millions on, especially those that require buying a company AND a warehouse to even be allowed to buy them.

I never noticed until I went broke that hosting heists doesn't earn you money for the setups
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for you... I keep levelling up and being able to get more upgrades and weapons faster than I can make money to afford property. I'm already level 30, and I'm broke as hell because for some reason I can carry an arsenal of ammunition? How long before I can afford real property? Am I gonna have to Shark Card this? Man, this unlocking stuff by level is really really devious. Well done, Rockstar.

Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youDoesn't hurt to ask for Hackers on servers, for Two Reasons. Alerts you to dangerous hackers if there are, and sometimes you find a Hacker that's more benevolent.
I actually try to avoid hackers if I can. They typically take all the fun out of the heists, and they have things like 10000+ K/D ratios. I wish there were a way to play in mod/hack free lobbies or something.
The story of David the Cosplayer: I have the equipment to cosplay a Scout Stormtrooper, and I got a roughly Ajay Ghale blue and yellow jacket and some torn up jeans.
I also discovered completely by accident that I'm apparently decent at player killing. Right after finishing a Heist setup, I was gunned down by a rogue crewman. He killed me and one other, but the last guy escaped. Rather than running, I respawned and chased down the traitor and shot him with a scoped rifle. I collected his stolen loot as well as the money I dropped previously. I quickly banked that money, and then when he respawned, I mowed him down with my bright pink assault rifle. The other player logged out after that. The other time, I got a notification to chase down red-marked vehicles and shoot them up. I pursued an RV and launched grenades at the driver, until I noticed right as I pulled the trigger a second time a name flashing above his head, and an alert immediately afterwards that I had just murdered a CEO. He and his organization were understandably upset. Note to self: ignore RED overworld activities.

Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for you"How to make money?"
The progression is this: 1. Do heists until you can buy an Armored Kuruma. This will make most missions against AI trivial.
2. Keep doing heists until you can afford an Office and a Vehicle Warehouse.
3. Do steal missions for your Vehicle Warehouse. Allow it to fill with Low and Medium end cars, selling only high end cars. When your warehouse is full of low and mediums, you will only get steal missions for high end cars allowing you to maximize your profits.
4. In between stealing missions, and/or when selling missions are on cooldown, run one of the VIP missions liked Sightseer, Hostile Takeover (with your Kuruma) or Haulage.
This will keep you constantly busy, constantly earning without tons of bills and property taxes that other businesses bring.
Why not do Biker drug businesses or Gunrunning? These have obscene operating costs and hourly fees eating into your bank account. You can always buy into them later, but you cannot reverse that decision and will be stuck paying property tax on a Biker clubhouse you may never use.
Smuggling Hangars? They're fine as a secondary business, if you play with a large group. They're not workable solo because they will stick you with sell missions you cannot do alone.
It only pays a pittance, though, and has a cooldown timer on it too. Apparently it would be too easy to make money otherwise.
For an open world that supposedly gives you lots of freedom, there sure are lots of restrictions, like cooldown timers and prohibitively high prices versus low job payouts.
Optimism is a duty.
