One wonders if your response would be the same if someone screwed up something you liked and a third-party's reaction was to laugh at you? I guess you wouldn't especially like it much if someone made that kind of comment, hmm?
If I were as over dramatic as some of those PC players are, I'd say I'd earned the laughter.
I can understand being upset over the decision but people are being over the top about this.
I disagree. I think PC players have been altogether too supine in the face of the game industry's corporate greed, for years - and if this turns out like I think it will, it will only really be the second victory against it in recent history - the last one being when paid mods for Skyrim were fucked right off after fan and press excoriation of everyone involved in the decision. That was another case when some suit decided it was a good idea to screw over a community that was ticking over quite nicely for years, thank you very much, so why the particular idiot in charge of THIS decision was able to miss what happened the last time is a puzzle to me, and many others.
so apparently GTA Online's still got at least one big update left in it:
I don't like the latest few batches of DLC. Missions that demand you play on a public server? Cars you have to spend a boatload of money for to even be able to buy them? Same cars that are nerfed compared to normal cars, but still cost a fortune anyway?
One of the worst offenders: the shovel truck. I bought this thing thinking it would last a while, but it broke in no time. I've tested this car on the highway and it blew up after about 50 cars bounced off its hood. Then I tested it again with a normal truck. Not only did the normal truck handle at least twice that amount of cars (100+), but it was pretty much as effective as the modified truck! What a ripoff... And of course don't bother asking for your money back if you're dissapointed, either.
Optimism is a duty.I just want the new Semi-Truck.
just when you thought GTAO would never see another multiplayer heist, this bombshell drops (pun probably intended)
They're going full-on San Andreas on this one, aren't they?
That was very filmic, at least in the trailer.
Please tell me this is not another 4 player heist, because I'm so tired of those. 2 players is the ideal number.
Optimism is a duty.A couple of predictions:
First, this is going to end Agent 14's arc. He either dies, is revealed a traitor or gets promoted on to better things or some combination of the above.
Second, it turns out the MacGuffin from Trevor's singleplayer 'Merryweather Heist' is something from this new heist, which explains why Lester reacts like he does.
Third, the SAM battery still won't be the anti-jet weapon people have been begging for (that's still the explosive sniper rifle). I don't think it will be able to angle high enough. Some things never change. :P
Yeah, Online has a bit of a bad habit of releasing things that sound amazing on a bullet point, but are a bit of a letdown in practice, usually in the name of balancing online play.
I mean, really, a plow truck that is not even half as strong as a normal one? Thats just ridiculous.
Optimism is a duty.Yeah, you really need the Mobile Ops Center if you want an armored semi to plow the highway with.
@1986 i honestly forgot that Trevor had to drop his spoils after a heist he planned. wasn't it heavily implied to be a WMD or something like that? would fit the doomsday theme of this next update well.
weaponizing Dungeon Fighter Online elitism since 2018No, it WAS a WMD, some sort of nuclear device.
And then there was the biological weapon they stole.
Optimism is a duty.Is this new Doomsday Heist stuff really worth it? It seems like YET ANOTHER money sink that requires at least 5 million dollars to even be able to do missions and buy cars.
And I bet the cars are nerfed, too, just like all those other special vehicles.
This money grubbing DLC thing is really getting out of hand.

Optimism is a duty.I was hoping that some Troper who has the content would've updated the GTA V page and any related information, maybe even dropped a small review, but no such luck. That means all we've got to go on are Youtube reviewers, and most of those guys are hard to judge since they're either die-hard fanboys who are OK with the system as is, or jaded returning players who are interested in the new toys, but annoyed by their huge costs.
I've got the original PS 3 version of the game, and I didn't buy it on Steam because I'm not convinced that doing so would be any net benefit. If they knocked 85% off of the game plus the most expensive Shark card, I'd consider it. Absent that, Rockstar can whistle.
I wouldn't buy it on PS 3 anyway, since you then miss out on a couple year's worth of updates.
The other problem with You Tube reviewers is that they are either sponsored or run cash card schemes, making them so much money they can just buy everything in the online store, which more than likely makes them a lot less critical about the price-quality ratio.
Optimism is a duty.Quick question.
I had to stop playing GTA 4 because whenever I wanted my character to walk left (pressing "A" on the keyboard) the camera would also turn left. This is both disorienting and makes it difficult to aim a weapon, making the game difficult to play.
This is compounded by the fact that when I moved my mouse right to compensate for the camera phasing left, the whole screen would simply shake because the game was still trying to move the camera to the left.
I found the experience so nauseating I never got past the point where I took the girl on that first date before giving up and deleting the game.
Does GTAV have the same horrible handling issue?
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youOf course not. Sounds more like a problem with your control setup. Maybe you accidentally chaned a button?
Optimism is a duty.Yeah, that definitely sounds like a hardware error, probably on your keyboard.
I'm almost certain it was programming though. It doesn't happen in literally any other game and I am very careful with my key bindings.
Like, it was done in a way where I could almost understand the logic if the player were controlling the PC with a controller, but using the WASD setup was very painful.

Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youDon't you think that if this was really a problem in EVERY copy of the game, there would have been an uproar over it? The problem is clearly on your end.
Optimism is a duty.Sounds like a key binding between "strafe left" and "turn left" - or the camera was locked to be permanently over the shoulder somehow?
I was tempted to dive into GTA online (I enjoyed some parts of RDR online... until everyone had that sodding donkey zebra and a golden gun) but it looks like trolling central at times. Plus finding a crew could be trickier. Wonder if we'll get a single player GTA 6 or if they'll just go with another online version.
I dunno, my reaction to all the PC people crying is to laugh at em, tbh. The so called backlash was so over dramatic honestly.
