Image suggestion: Ridiculously Fast Construction

Here's a scene from One Piece that I think would work well for this page, in both manga and anime form.

That construction is certainly ridiculous, but the speed of it isn't apparent from the images. They could be building a mid-air staircase at normal speed.

If they were building at a normal speed, it would have collapsed faster.

Then again, this IS One Piece we're talking about.

Gotta agree with Diamond, without some kind of comment on the speed of said construction it's not all that apparent.

And you have to realize that this is an Acceptable Break from Reality used in Real-Time Strategy games that involve construction and resource management. This trope is about how in a video game, building a house takes two minutes instead of two weeks. It's not about "People building things really fast with superpowers".

If you look beyond the video games section, it has examples from other media.

Yeah, some of them are probably Square Peg Round Trope-y.

Looking at the page description, I think the trope was created as a video game gameplay trope, but due to the name, people started sticking any examples from other media where fast construction takes place. "Somebody builds something in an impossibly short amount of time" seems like it would be tropeable, but that's not the current definition of the trope. It's more specific than that.

The trope should probably be worked into someone who can build things really fast, video games or otherwise.

That's a discussion we can have elsewhere; in any case, the proposal doesn't match the trope, so it's a thumbs-down.

I'd say split them, but that's a discussion for TRS. At the moment, the trope is clearly limited to video games.

I say we postpone discussion until the TRS mess gets cleared up, at which point we'll take the trope for discussion and then the image suggestion.

I was actually thinking of the discussion page since we're just clarifying examples here.

So, having made clear the trope definition, I say we give it three days to get suggestions and lock 'er up if there aren't any.

The trope should be renamed, so that it's more indicative that it's a gaming-trope only; then we can make a trope about fast construction in other media.

That's a discussion for TRS, not this thread. The picture needs to match the trope description, not the title. If the title is bad, that's not a matter for IP.
