Jesus, if they think this senate is socialist, what has to be done for it to be uh...not socialist?

Commercials from sponsors? Stickers? Endorsements?

I wouldn't suprise that they would think Soviet Union never fell.

But, like said before, right now it's one guy(lady?) spouting nonsense. What scares me is that there are quite a lot of commentors supporting this bullshit. Of course, they could be trolls...

If businesses could cooperate like this in order to affect the economy, then businesses would be able to raise demand by raising wages thereby avoiding the need for Keynesian stimulus.

Long story short: the Tea Party dummy here doesn't realize that the same reason Anti-Keynesian economics is dumb (the tea party position, at least for many of them) is why this isn't going to take off. It's just drawing a lot of attention.

If anything, liberals should be parading about how foolish of a move this is.

Hell, part of me wonders if someone paid her off to act as a saboteur.

[up] The people who support this are people who wouldn't vote Obama anyway. Actual "job creators" aren't going to be affected by the Tea Party. If anything, this'll make an already bad economy seem more like it's the Tea Party's fault.

Ah, the Republican version of Bush Derangement Syndrome.

sigh Whatever happened to shutting up and obeying the President even if you voted for the other guy?

I think that went out the window once Nixon was revealed to be an asshat, so nowadays everyone just assumes that every president is secretly Satan.

That might have been when the movement started, but there really wasn't this kind of fanatical pushback under either of the bushes or under Clinton. Or Reagan, for that matter.

@Rott The Tea Party started the Fire but OWS has global appeal because even people in Whale's hometown are suffering from what the Wall Street fat cats did.

To be fair to them, I don't think the Tea Party are racists. At least not unilaterally. I've seen minorities occasionally show up amongst the ranks of Tea Party protesters.

I think the birther thing was ridiculous and needed to die a long time ago.I think they just dislike Progressives with a passion. And also racists will always show up to events that correspond with their beliefs.A lot of Tea Parties have been trying to kick out racists people.

The leadership is all rich, white, fox news pundits. They hate Obama because hes black, he's smart, and he beat the pony they were beating on.

It's becoming increasingly difficult for me to even try to understand where their coming from since they keep doing these things.

Screwing people over just to prove a point is a concept that is completely alien to me.

Either way, "they're not racist" shouldn't really be a compliment in this day and age. More of a universal standard that shouldn't be exceptional enough to merit compliment. Like spelling your own name.

Having to preface all of your comments with "I'm not racist but-" is a bad sign.

Right, which is why I can't help but think that it's self-sabotage for some reason.

It's just so much easier for Obama to say "The economy is not my fault" when you have Tea Partiers admitting they want the economy to suck to hurt him.

I don't think this Melissa Brookman is anybody but a particularly stupid and extremist member. I haven't been able to find her name mentioned in any context except as the author of this particular piece of silliness.

To be fair, this is kind of like blaming the entire OWS movement for the fire in Italy.

You get crazies in any camp. Now, the people who sympathize with her...
