Actually USAF, statistically speaking, classism only accounts for 90% of racism.

Well, there is the factor of "they're different and therefore fair game," which is what contributes to the beginning of racism and is a not insignificant part of sustaining it. I still would say that the vast majority of it is classism.

That number was an arbitrary statistic by the way.

We covered that in Labor Economics, but it was actually towards sexism. A LOOOOOOOOT of things come from other variables. Once you do the ANOVA (wikipedia it!) analysis, you can adjust for individual variables.

Things like race, even when adjusted for class, still have statistically significant non-zero values. It's just that they're comparatively smaller.

it generally means being smart, having a white-collar job, and/or despising rap.

Which I find especially insulting in the military, because the black people that act stereotypically black, instead of following the rules like all the rest of the minorities, then like to complain about how they can't get ahead, without grasping that glorifying criminals and ignorance is detrimental in an organization whose core principle could be described as "Do what you're told without thinking about it."

How do people dare to disagree with parties that are already counting your vote as something safe? Do you know that you are forcing them to actually make the effort to appeal to your vote?!

There is a bit of cutting off one's nose to spite one's face element, yes.

USUALLY what happens is apathy which leads to low voter turnout. Dems seriously need to get their asses in gear and realize that low voter turnout is almost as painful as the vote going to the other guy.

Long story short: If you are part of a community (say, blacks) and you support the guys that oppress that community (say, conservatives), you are a traitor. If you support the guys that impoverish your community, remove the resources your community has (certain social programs are vital for the black community in the absence of socialism) and you support the dudes that push for reactionary laws that incarcerate your fellow blacks...

Of course you are a traitor! A Quisling like the worst of'em!

It's the same as working class folks who support anti-worker politicians, or the (few and far between) gay Republicans who'll vote for a theocrat that hates them before they'll vote in a Democrat. Young folks who support politicians that are in favor of the war on drugs. They support the enemies of their community, so it's fair to describe them as traitors.

That's assuming that some policies actually benefit/harm communities rather than just that it's claimed that they do. Also, black conservatives like Joy Flower disagree. Black libertarians like me disagree aw well.

The simplest assumption made is that the only standards by which one judges a politician should be what affects a person directly, and only that, actually. What's to say the person considers other parts of the politician's platform to be more important?

Also, what about people of multiracial background, should they identify as a synthetic group or the sum of the groups that they fused together? Barack Obama? Half white, half black? Multiracial?

Libertarians support eliminating corporate welfare and most taxes and regulations, so poor blacks with skills (say, mechanics, hairdressers, etc) could easily become self-employed. Regular corporatist conservatives don't. And you oppose the police state and the war on drugs, the main tool reactionaries use to oppress and disfranchise youth, the counterculture and minorities.

A black Libertarian is not neccessarily (or likely to be) an uncle Tom. A socially conservative black who supports pro-corporate, anti-poor and anti-worker measures like the Republicans do, (or the war on drugs) is an Uncle Tom, there is literally no way around that, because the policies he defends are direct assaults on the black community.

They are also entitled to shame you and completely shun you out of their communities, though.

If you're aligned with the community's oppressors, you probably shouldn't get to be part of the community at all and should be treated like a pariah.

People are shunned for making stupid decisions in all walks of life. Same goes for voting.

Of course, it is an anonymous ballot.
