Unless the scenes get ridiculous edits (like the rolling sub-style sandwich I mentioned in their Pokemon dub, or characters being scared of pointed fingers in their Yu Gi Oh dub), 4Kids' edits tend to be rather believable if you have't seen the original.
So yeah, when I was a kid, I fell for a lot of their edits, including that scene. Though I attribute that to me being a kid at the time more than anything.

Never understood the big deal about the finger-gun scene in Yu-Gi-Oh. Guys bust in the room, look serious, point their fingers at Kaiba and tell him not to move. It's not like they said "We're going to kill you." They just looked... assertive.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorHey, if Phoenix Wright and/or every anime ever has taught us something, it's that a person's index finger, when pointed can paralyze, stun, shock, or force a persons head to A'Splode.
Hate Lives In A Small Town, and if you're Almost Human, it'll lead you To The Bottom Of The Sea.Wait, for real? Wow, good thing I didn't watch the dub.
That was broadcast dub only. The uncut DVD changes it back to alcohol.
Also, for a truly stupid broadcast edit on a good dub: Blue Popo. This was for the Toonzai broadcast only, Nicktoons broadcast leaves him black.
how come I can't find confirmation of this Blue Popo?

This must mean Tomoe Mami would have the biggest talent as well.

The worst part about that scene in One Piece? I believed it. I was a little surprised when I saw how it really happened in the Funimation dub when I finally got around to watching those episodes.
I mean, the guy is a hypnotist. Who's to say his weapon wouldn't be wacky like that?
