As I postulated on the Young Justice thread, perhaps this hiatus is due to them retooling the block (which I figured they would have to do eventually) so as to add more shows or repurpose the way it will run. If that's the case, the reason the hiatus is so long is likely because they want to "reveal" the enhanced block in the New Year.

I'd always heard that the reason they never put Wonder Girl in the Teen Titans cartoon was that DC wouldn't let them.

That's... odd. I dunno how readily I believe that, given that Teen Titans barely used anyone from the Teen Titans comics, and the team itself was based on the 1981 team (which as far as I know didn't feature Wonder Girl).

They are just doing this so people will calm done and wait while they unceremoniously cancel it.

[up][up] normally I would agree, but the last thousand times this happened, it's because CN wanted to trash a show for no reason.

If I recall correctly Wonder Girl made a brief cameo in Teen Titans and made an appearance in the tie-in comic. Why she wasn't being used more might have to do with something similar to the "Batman Embargo" (a stupid rule where certain Batman characters can't appear in certain adaptations because they were in a completely different adaptation. To avoid "confusion". In fact, Sinestro wasn't in the first season of Green Lantern The Animated Series cause he was in the movie!). There were both a Wonder Woman movie and a TV series that were in development in the past 10 years that never went anywhere, which might explain things.

The Batman Embargo is really stupid.

Now that all five Super Best Friends Forever shorts are out, my final thoughts? Supergirl vs Superman was awesome. In fact Supergirl everything was awesome. The last short was kinda meh, maybe if it was a full 11-22 minute episode and the girls learn something from tormenting a zombie man, but oh well. I wonder what a full series would be like, but Cartoon Network decided to bring back Teen Titans as their comedy superhero show. Oh well, it was nice to see Lauren Faust's take on DC.

The "Teen Titans GO" show having been planned, as well as Beware The Batman, is one of the biggest things that make the idea that they're just dropping the block out of the blue and cancelling all the shows within a little ridiculous.

The only way I would buy that is if DC's Television Animation Department suddenly went through a massive collapse or cataclysm or something. Otherwise it's just too big a conclusion to jump to, imo.

The 1981 team did indeed feature Wonder Girl; it's line up was Robin, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Cyborg, Changeling, Raven, and Starfire. I know Wonder Girl had a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo in one episode, and it was around the time of that episode's production that I read something by one of the producers saying that the couldn't show her any more fully than that because it was a right issue with DC. Otherwise, he said, while she wouldn't have been in the main team, they would have liked to use her for a episode or so, like they did Aqualad and Kid Flash.

DC has put way too much effort into DC Nation to just cancel it all of a sudden with no reason. The whole point was to give their characters, especially the more obscure ones, more exposure, and find out which ones to spin off in their own series. At the very least they must still have several produced unaired episodes, and they will emerge sooner or later, if not on Cartoon Network then elsewhere.

[up] Generator Rex wasn't a DC property. It was created by Man of Action for CN. CN should have ready access to all of DC's stuff, 'cuz they're all already owned by Time Warner. I imagine part of DC Nation's reason for existing, at least from a corporate standpoint, is to get lesser known properties before the public so WB can see what's worth developing further.

Then why did CN and DC made a 3-year contract?

Something smells rotten in the CN's kingdom;.

DC and CN have a 3-year long contract to share their talent.

If all it needed was one of the sides wanting to make something out of their property, why is was the contract made in the first place?

I think people are making too big a deal out of this. Unless you have the patience of a hummingbird, be thankful they are not canceling it. This is the same network that delayed The Looney Tunes Show thrice, and now it's in its second season.

It shouldn't be taken from the air in the first place!

2 days ago, they were saying that they would show new episodes uninterrupted right until the end of november.

Volpe was even making some buzz to show of the new episode.

You shouldn't accept this shit!

Didn't Beware the Batman go through a major censorship and controversy remaking proccess, due to violence in a Batman product aimed to children after the Dark Knight Rises shootout tragedy? If they thought they couldn't redo the show to fit those new guidelines, maybe they have just scrapped it, costs be damned. The only thing TV executives fear more than losing money is soccer moms making them lose money and public face.

[up][up][up][up] But as we've said, this is exactly the same trick they pull when they want to axe a show. It's very easy to see the pattern by now.

[up][up] If they had announced the delay a week ago I wouldn't be complaining. They announced the delay so abruptly that most cable companies didn't get the memo and still had those shows listed as airing at the time they were supposed to air.

Well, you can always boycott the network and never watch their stuff again, but that doesn't seem like it'll achieve the ends you want. You're not really in a position of any kind of significant power over either DC or CN.

You realize you're having a coronary about a TV show being delayed, right?
