Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Another World.
*Thwack*
You just broke my iPad while I was in the middle of playing a good game; I demand you buy me a new one.
I don't actually own an iPad, and nor do I want one; touchscreens bug me.
*totally came into this thread just to make that bad joke*
It was a good joke, actually =)
Dead Space is good, and rather pretty.
Anything by gameloft is good, so long as you know what actual game the one you're getting was based on (they like to make Jimmy Hart Versions of famous brands - they have ripoffs of Halo, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare, World Of Warcraft, Max Payne, Grand Theft Auto (many of these), Star Craft, Diablo, Mario Kart, Assassins Creed, Uncharted, they also made adaptations of Splinter Cell, Assassins Creed (yes, I am aware of the redundancy), Rainbow Six, ecksetra, ecksetra.

Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.Infinity Blade is fun, and so is the Mirrors Edge iPad version.
If any question why we died/ Tell them, because our fathers lied -Rudyard KiplingSeconding Infinity Blade, and the iPad versions of Canabalt and Robot Unicorn Attack.
Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!Oh! Um...Unpleasant Horse!
I've heard that Chaos Rings is a pretty good JRPG, along with Ash.
Neither are free, though.
There is also Kairosoft, who make fun little business management games like Game Dev Story and Grand Pix Story.
Also not free, but pretty cheap.

"The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go."Yes, Kairosoft games are insanely awesome and addictive. Not sure if there's any benefit for playing them on the iPad or whether they actually feel good on it.
Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.jukebeat is a great rhythm game, although the list of free songs is short. If you have access to the Japanese iTunes Store, the original jubeat has an even better songlist (in my opinion).
Also, osu!stream. Similar comments there.
Extra 1: Poochy Ain't StupidIf you do not own Plants Vs Zombies, I have no respect for you.
Also, Rolando Land.

Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.Thanks for the recs!
I'm now looking for single-iPad multiplayer games, can anyone suggest some good ones?
EDIT: And maybe some visual novels while you're at it?

Well, Angry Birds in all its forms is a good place to start with iPad games.
I recently got to play Sonic Jump on the iPad, and it is good.
My personal favourites, though, are Deer Hunter and Deer Hunter Reloaded for the iOS. It's just so much fun shooting down many different types of animals!

Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!I'd suggest Cytek as a great rythem game, Mage gauntlet as a fun SNES style arpg, another vote for infinity blade, and Dungeon raid as an insanely addictive rpg/puzzle/ match 3 game.
None of those are free but whatever. I'd suggest keeping an eye on sites like touch arcade or ign's App Store update articles, games often have sales and temporary price drops all the time, and some real gems can be found.
If you're talking about ports, all of Square-Enixs stuff is gold as long as you're willing to pay a lot. The World Ends With You is currently on sale for ONLY $12!!! (although a seriously amazing game.

Tiny tower, pocket planes, angry birds space, dead space, and the world ends with you: solo remix. Only tiny tower and pocket planes is free.
I drink 17 cups of coffee in court.I think board game-type games like Carcassonne and Monopoly are single-iPad multiplayer games. Though I'm pretty sure there are more.
Well there's the Bastion port, which is the entire Bastion experience, for five bucks. It runs really smooth, and controls surprisingly well(Just change it to "classic" in the options).
I've heard really good things about Infinity Blade, and while anyone with an IOS or Android probably already has it already, Cut The Rope is a must.
Also, I heard the Walking Dead Game Series is available on IOS, for five bucks an episode.
And there's also TWEWY, which has a really devoted fanbase, though the DS version is probably better.

If you wanna PM me, send it to my mrsunshinesprinkles account; this one is blorked. And then there's also that the op last posted over a year ago, so there's no point in recommending things to him.

Maybe not, but I saw this one thread talking about "Good Android Games", and I have access to an iPad. Since the iPad and Android are rivals, I figured "Why not revive this thread and give the other thread something to compete over?"
On that note, I've tried out Tetris on the iPad, and it sure is interesting. I mean, being able to touch the screen and using this ability to move those blocks around. Squee!
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!We have a Recommendations subforum for these types of threads. Please take it there.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
Exactly what it says on the tin. I'd prefer free games, though.
