Vanilla Fudge is sometimes credited for huge metal developments. Reminds me of King Crimson.
As for Slade, didn't they do "Come On Feel the Noise"?
"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"They did and they did it better than Quiet Riot ever could. Hell, Kiss wrote Rock and Roll All Nite because they were trying to copy that song.
As for Vanilla Fudge, they were big influenced on Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, so I think they're probably Hendrix claused.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Did they even have a hit though?
Vanilla Fudge had a top ten hit with a cover of You Keep Me Hangin' On.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Ok then. I don't think Slade or Vanilla Fudge are can be under the Hendrix Clause; they are pretty much unknown by the general audience.
Despite their influence, I'd say Vanilla Fudge would pretty solidly be OHW material. If Iron Butterfly qualify, Vanilla Fudge certainly would as well.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.So is Zappa, but he influenced many people, much like Vanilla Fudge and Slade did.
Fair enough, then.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Zappa is FAR more well known than Vanilla Fudge. He's a cult figure, but he's a cult figure most people know, like Rocky Horror or L. Ron Hubbard.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Where as if people know Slade at all, most people know them as the band who Quiet Riot Covered Up.
(Also, how about a Quiet Riot episode?)
Quiet Riot technically had another hit with Metal Health, didn't they? Or is it a Men Without Hats situation where they had another hit that people remember but it isn't as well known?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? Both songs were top 40 hits, though "Metal Health" hit #31.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I think that’s the case with Tommy Tutone. Does anyone actually remember their first hit, “Angel Say No”? I don’t, and I’m from the same town as them!
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883!No comments regarding a Kermit The Frog episode?
Someone mentioned Ernie, but I can’t remember if it was here or at the CA site.
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883!at least two people here mentioned it I'm pretty sure
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I wonder if there's any way to find Todd's crossover review of Head by The Monkees. I can't seem to find it on You Tube.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?i've been looking for it for months
it's probably forever lost.
shame, cause i've heard it was good.
"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"I thought that was Pushing Up Roses's video, just the three of them happened to film it at Todd's place. Might be on her channel, though it's been a while since I checked.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. It's not on her channel, I looked.
I could've sworn some Russian site had it up. If someone can track it down, could they put it on You Tube?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? Most of the videos that got lost because of the Blip shutdown can be found here. Alas, the navigation is quite inconvenient at the moment.
Just a person. He/him.Oh, crap, the videos actually work on the Internet Archive's saved versions of blip pages? That's unexpected.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. Most of them seem to do, yeah. Though not all of them, like the commentary to the Head review.
Just a person. He/him.The video is horrible at buffering.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? So, apparently Harry Chapin and Percy Sledge are part of the Rick Astley Clause.
Did they have any hits other than "Cat's in the Cradle" and "When A Man Loves A Woman"?
Not sure with Vanilla Fudge. That seems more of a gray area, since I know they had some influence on prog, but I don't really see people talking about them.
