Would you say that Cartoon Network is back on their feet after their fall in 07/08 (where the only cartoons I can remember were Flapjack, Chowder,Squirrel Boy, and Total Drama Island, three of which were horribly bland)?

Personally, I believe their still not as good as it was in the 90s (and this is without any nostalgia involved), but that doesn't mean they aren't doing a good job now, sure they still have some crap shows that they air way to much(all those flash shows from Canada and Johnny Test). But as a whole, I think they are very decent now.

Your thoughts?

Which is the one?

And I disagree. While CN now has some good shows in their line up, (Adventure Time, Total Drama, Scooby Doo Mystery Inc), most of them remain generic "funny" cartoons (Regular Show, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Mad, Johnny Test, etc.

Can you really count Aqua Teen? Thats only on Adult Swim.

And the one enjoyable cartoon I was talking about was Flapjack, which was one of the only good shows they had back then.

I count Adult Swim as CN.

AND DON'T INSULT TOTAL DRAMA. Flapjack is still awesome and one of the best non-adult cartoons in a long time. Chowder was terrible.

You consider Regular Show generic?

Humor is relative, so let's not get into that too much.

I do think they learned their lesson, but aren't out of their Dork Age yet. They still air live-action shows like Dude What Would Happen.

Honestly, Cartoon Network isn't out of their Dork Age yet. They still have Canadian Flash cartoons and CN Real; as long as they stay afloat, at least one person will see CN as the devil.

I never got what's so great about Gumball or Regular Show. Regualr show is a far less intresting version of Adventure Time (Seriously, I can not stop talking about the greatness that is Adventure Time) while there's nothing even slightly intresting about Gumball. Of course, those are just my opnions.

I appreciate the many diffrent art styles that are blended together for Gumball, and as a result, it can get very entertaining.

Plus Darwin is adorable.

Getting there now if they just stop with the mandatory Romantic Plot Tumor.

The live action shows need to go for CN to be taken seriously again. Remember Unatural History?

Exactly.

Shows like Johnny Test and Sidekick really do insult the intelligence of the viewer as well with lame fart jokes and poor writing.

You forgot to mention the awful animation (in the case of Johnny Test)

If I wrote down everything wrong with Johnny Test by itself I would get writers' cramp. And cease having a life.

No, not yet. Gumball and Regular Show are horibly cheap, uninteresting cartoons, pretty much the next Chowder and Flapjack (which yes, were bad, though Chowder was pretty solid in it's first season). Johnny Test has gotten old, Ben 10 has gotten even worse, Total Drama might as well be canned, and the crappy live shows are still on. The few watchable things are Adventure Time, the Scooby Doo shows (particularly Mystery Inc.), the Black And White season of Pokemon, and whatever else happens to be on.

[up][up] When I wrote a review for it, I had to cut out half of the content I originally wanted to write. Frickin' 400 word limit.

[up]Isn't TDI canned already? Also, I'd have to agree with the Regular Show and Gumball complaints; yes, they're funny when you watch them, but they're only for specific niches (twenty-something beatniks and unique art design, respectively). Even Adventure Time, with Penn slipping in memes for the fans, seems to cater to a certain crowd.

[up][up]I know some swear by the show, but Ben 10 has fallen from grace but it is still better than some of the action shows on Nick (Not having Avatar in the title)

I have now seen finally every single CN cartoon been called great, awful, or "meh" by various viewers.

So, no matter what happens, CN will still be in a Dork Age for a sizeable chunk of the audience.

Myself, I think they started crawling out when Flapjack started, and are now just about as good as they've been for a long time. Adventure Time, Regular Show, Scooby Doo Mystery Inc, and Young Justice are all great. I haven't seen any of Gumball yet, but it's pretty, and most of the imports are just okay. All I really wanna see die is the live action stuff. (Ultimate Alien sucks, but at least it's animated).

^ Of course no one talks about them. They don't exist.

Jokes aside, I consider them to be a separate entity.

Pretty sure CN is out of that funk. CN Real was a disaster, and around that time they really got rid of their classics in general.

Regular Show, Adventure Time, Flapjack, Chowder, Gumball... all pretty good cartoons and have been reeling in the fans. A lot of people just can't grasp that type of humor, which appeals to a wide brand of audience. Objectively, these shows are a lot better than what CN was putting out.

Johnny Test is still going, as well as a few leftovers... But that's expected. They do well with filling up time slots and kids still like it. So, they're allowed to keep shows that keep them afloat, aren't they? TDI is really popular, Sidekick is alright, I mean, they've really pulled themselves out of the hole they had made.

I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -Wanderlustwarrior
