No.
I do not really care all that much about public opinion, and it would annoy me to have to care. While I can be a decent speaker if I prepare myself, I do not have much in terms of polemic vein, and the mere abstract concept of "talk show" makes me wish I could destroy all T Vs in a 545 light-years radius.
However, in my homecountry sometimes it happens that some ministries are given to "technicians" — that is, to people who are well recognized for their competence in that subject, but who otherwise have no real political allegiance. That I could do, perhaps, if I ever became known enough for it to be possible and if I felt I was competent enough.
But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas. No, I'm too honest and too introverted.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayI can definitely see myself as your new Glorious Leader.
"It is true that we are called a democracy, for the administration is in the hands of the many and not of the few."Depends on the position. It's one thing to be, say, a governor, and another to be a congressperson, and have to draft or vote on legislation that has to pass an entire committee.
That said, I'm almost certainly unelectable.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.Nope. I'm a terrible liar.
We would have to repair political system/impression first. As of now, I don't think I would be a good official (I'm poor at human resources management) and would not want it.
Now using Trivialis handle.No.
My views are too radical to gain support. Besides the systems I would advocate would work only if supported by a signifigant majority. ~500 years might allow society to shift its values enough for it to work, but I can't see myself living long enough to see it.
Laws are made to be broken. You're next, thermodynamics. There is enough on the Internet about me to make damn sure I could never be elected to political office of any kind. Which is probably a good thing, because I would probably burn out on it.
A brighter future for a darker age.I feel that I lack the requisite arrogance.

I think I can be quoted somewhere saying I do not have great faith in any organisation that would accept me as a leader.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.Yes.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.Erock@I am keeping my eye on you.
For what it's worth, many people on TV Tropes seem to want me to run for president.
That being said, I couldn't make it as a politician in the United States. I don't cater to specific groups or sugarcoat my words, I make my positions on everything plain as day, and have such a moderate viewpoint on everything that I would be sure to piss off every main demographic just as much as I did things that they liked.
My pro-gun and anti-drug stance would piss off liberals and please conservatives, while my pro-gay and pro-choice stance would do exactly the opposite. My vision for how America should be is more like a venn diagram borrowing policies from both the left and right that I feel are beneficial and fair for this country, and thus I could never galvanize either side to vote for me in great enough numbers.
No, I am too much of a leftist for Middle Britain to handle.
Dutch LesbianI could make it as a politician, but not as a statesman: Given a sufficiently anti-DEA constituency, I might make State Senate, but any further political career would be impossible.
I show open contempt to Moral Guardians and fundies. I wouldn't in any case cater to any of them. On certain areas in the West Coast I might find a niche as a pro-gun, pro-drugs, pro-union politician, but I doubt I'd achieve anything of significance on that kind of office, considering that most politicians are anti-drug, anti-gun, anti-union morons and people keep electing them.

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.No. I hate people too much.
Fight smart, not fair. And you would lose a lot of the liberal vote with your "War on Art/Culture" while your belief in science would turn off lots of conservative voters when you went for stem cells and genetic research.
Yeah, Deboss would have a hard time... At least I could count on the union vote.

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.I'd run...if I was actually able.
I wasn't born in the U.S., so that eliminates the presidential position, also
I could pass as a Senator or perhaps a House of Reps member.
Maybe even the President.
I think my reign term as President would be...eventful. I would certainly not bother with trying to negotiate with anyone with extremist beliefs in the Right Wing.
@Joy: 30-40 years from now check the lsit of M Ps in Ontario.

On this forum I noticed a lot of people complain about the politcians and now I wonder if any of us could do be better politcians are not.In my opinion I wouldn't be be a politician for all the Jelly Bellies in the World. However,If I did I would be conservative socially and fiscally but try to comprimise as much as possible.I would also be one the people who is against wasteful spending on both sides.I also would try to balance the powers of both unions and corperations.Plus I would not be bribed in fact I would rat out the bribers to the public.Although I am idealistic for some reason I see me getting somewhat corrupted over the years to the point it won't be pretty.
