Do you seriously believe that the devs will pass up on the chance to have Clarke anti-climatically defeat the Moons with a Deus ex Machina? That seems to be the big trend nowadays.
Finished the main game, wondering if there is a way to get awakened without going though origin.
How about everyone name something they like and don't like about the game?
Like
- Weapon crafting: I've managed to come up with/discover some pretty neat combinations. Generally I find it best to combine a mid range weapons with a close range weapon. Necromorphs are infamous for getting in your face and you rarely get to engage them at long range.
Dislike
-Necromorph flash mobs: They turn up in massive numbers, so much they sometimes have to queue up to take a swipe at you.

My latest Trope page: Shapeshifting FailureI liked:
1. The new necromorphs
2. The co-op
3. Weapon crafting
4. The setting
5. The story
6. The DLC
7. The side missions
I didn't like:
1. The firefights with humans (most of the time, there's a couple where the necros get involved and its really awesome)
2. The boss battles (They lool epic on screenshots but are usually easy, if a bit amusing)
3. The Hunter feels shoehorned in.
4. Most of the suits are forgettable, or introduced too late in the story. Also, there's too few of them and no optional ones aside from DLC.
5. Its shorter then it seems, not much longer then DS 2 (a couple chapters can be completed in less then 8 minutes if your playing on normal)
All in all, 8/10 for the game in general, with a 9/10 for the action.
The world isn't ready for giant T4 combustion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GbpGiYmBSs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKm9I played one hard difficult first, which turned out to a mistake, considering how often I died. I'm now playing though in 'classic mode', which despite the limited weapons selection and being set to hard difficulty (apparently) doesn't seem as hard so far. The feeder necromancer really got on my nerves, even when I tiptoed around them one of them flipped out and summoned a hundred of its friends.
Sometimes I felt there was a hidden counter, spend to long looking at the scenery and a monster pops out and screams at you.
Although the game is good overall it seems to lack the memorable moments of DS 2.

My latest Trope page: Shapeshifting FailureThe beginning stage has a lot of backstory if you pay attention, though otherwise its just the most action focused section of the game.
The jump scares weren't very good.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.EA said that the game needed to sell five million copies in order to be successful. Keep in mind, Dead Space 2 (aka, the greatest outer space horror game ever made) only sold two million, and that was over a period of several weeks.
MIND BULLETSThat's not how you say System Shock 2.
nyo ho hoDead Space 2 is second place.

That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.So the problem was that when EA said "successful" everyone thought they meant "to keep on living"?
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. No, the problem was that they were going to kill the series if it couldn't make back more money than it was physically capable of making back.
MIND BULLETSBasically EA wanted to kill the series and did everything they could to make it happen. So no Visceral will have to finish it through DLC.

That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.But what's the source on that?
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. No, they were just incompetent at there sells expectations. The first two games with there copies sellings combined still didn't get the 5 million mark. It got 4 million, and this game was...3 million? I'm not sure, but not what the expectations hoped for. EA is losing its sanity.
And why do people keep acting like the series is killed off? Its been reported that those were rumors.

The world isn't ready for giant T4 combustion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GbpGiYmBSs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKm9Somebody should make a video of things that try to kill dead space protagonists (other than necromorphs)

- gunships
- Miiiiiiines!
- Spaceships breaking up

From the other games you can add more crushing, electrocution, escape pods, trains and Earthgov.

My latest Trope page: Shapeshifting Failure
I finally tried Awakened. While it answered the question I had at the end of Dead Space 3, I found it unsatisfying, probably because we know there will never be another one.
