It's been nearly two weeks since I asked any such question. And I figured this is the most appropiate thread to ask this question, since a community of Sailor Moon fans would have the best chances of pulling out evidence to confirm or deny whether something in the Sailor Moon cast or setting qualifies for a trope. It would take a good chunk of the load off the "Is this an example?" thread, at the very least.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Keep in mind Marq will never actually sit down to write about the stuff he asks so much about.
Is that stuff you can even use or is important in anyway? Knowing about the ringlets in the scheme of things seem so unimportant.
Number 13 is really cool looking.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI like detailed descriptions of characters. Who knows, a day may come when I finally can apply my artistic talents and draw fan art of the characters! (Yeah, bet you didn't know I can draw well, huh? Mom says I have a lot of talent in it, but personally I think I still have a long way to go; it's just that most people here suck at drawing/painting stuff, so the fact that I can draw even moderately well makes me stand out.)

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Isn't there supposed to be a new episode today?
One Strip! One Strip!Nah, the 2 episodes go up on Hulu on Monday after 2 AM Central time.
"The most advance Killing machine can only say 'Hodor'. >_<"
It's Bi-Bi-Weekly :P
Mileena MadnessOh yeah, they can't possibly produce 3 Sailor Moon Crystal episodes in the same month!
Gotta keep those production values as high as possible.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.I get the feeling you guys are being sarcastic.
One Strip! One Strip!Hey, Crystal is an awesome artistic achievement when we consider it's drawn by a crack team of drunk spider monkeys.
I liked that Game of Thrones-themed fanart too. :)
Flora is the most beautiful member of the Winx Club. :)Of course, I doubt many will compare the improved animation for blueray, not when they get to bitch about mistakes by overworked animators with strict deadlines. Even though this kinda thing is extremely common in anime.
"No will to break."Say, are there any official numbers for the characters' heights, besides Makoto being 168 cm at her introduction? Source around the net seem to contradict each other; using Usagi as an example, some sites claim that she's 4' 11", while others like this one offer a range of values depending on the arc (which would make sense, as the story takes place over the span of 2-3 years, with the girls growing from age 14 to age 16), starting from 4' 8" and ending at an estimate between 4' 11" and 5'3" for her Neo-Queen Serenity self.
If you must know, I'm trying to get an estimate for Queen Serenity's own height, using one screenshot from the first anime showing both her and Princess Serenity◊ for estimation purposes (she's one head taller, though apparently still shorter than Prince Endymion).

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Ah right, I had just read a set of heights in this FAQ.
Sailor Moon: 4'11" (not an estimate)
Sailor Mercury: 5'2"
Sailor Mars: 5'3"
Sailor Jupiter: 5'6"
Sailor Venus: 5'2"
Sailor Uranus: 5'9"
Sailor Neptune: 5'5"
Sailor Pluto: 5'7" (from page 8, Sailor Moon S movie memorial album)
Sailor Saturn: 4'7"
Tuxedo Mask: 5'8"
Motoki (Andrew): 5'8"
Jadeite: 5'11"
Queen Beryl: 6'2"
Naru-chan (Molly): 5'1"
Umino (Melvin): 5'1"
Shingo (Sammy): 4'5"
Sailor Moon's mother: 5'4"
Sailor Moon's father: 5'7"
animators with strict deadlines
... eh, not only Crystal has one of the longest spans between episodes in the history of ongoing anime (as opposed to OVA and such), but they'd been announcing this project for years. If they ended up rushing the actual end project, that's Toei's own damn fault, but they had a very long starting time window to work on this thing.
And really, the 'improved' animation is nothing to write home about either.
Now with four episodes left, there's still time for Sailor Moon Crystal to insert one more unexpected plot twist, isn't there? Like that crazy theory I read where Wiseman was originally an alternate future Chibi-Usa who got kicked out of being Sailor Pluto or something lol
So what do people like about the manga? I'm assuming Crystal's execution of it is... lacking to be nice. But even stellar execution wouldn't make this source material anything to write home about from what I can tell.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Well, the original manga is now a case of Seinfeld Is Unfunny, but by the time it originally came around, it was revolutionary.
The relationship between the Senshi and the Inner Senshi's usefulness still came out looking better in the manga than in Crystal, anyway.

I think it has more cute and funny moments, and the pacing is better just because you can read at your own pace, so you don't have to imagine scenes being all stretched out for the drama if you don't want to.
Wait Seinfeld is unfunny... :(
Mileena Madness
I love you Flonne-Poster. Yeah, Marq, its kind of annoying, could you tone it down? And isnt there a Section where you can ask this stuff?
