I hope Viz at least releases video clips of the dub until the DVD comes out.

Wow, that was well said! *claps*
And I had no idea she did Sully and Cherche from Fire Emblem too, that's cool.
I hope they at least keep the "talent" line in the new dub.
With the roses and the silhouette characters in the title cards and eye catches, I can't help but think of Revolutionary Girl Utena. Maybe it's a deliberate shout out to Kunihiko Ikuhara? "You may have made Mamoru a wimp, but the we still admire your contribution to the original anime before your falling out with Toei."

"The talent line" from Mako sucked egg-rolls. Be more blatant, keep the shitty edited lines the fuck out out of the new dub.
On another note just got through watching Sailor Moon Crystal episode 1. Bleh. Meh. Prefer the original (obviously).
"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenI thought that line was hilariously narmy. Then again, when I first heard it I had watched the show in both Swedish and Japanese, which don't use that line.
Check out my fanfiction!Hey, back in the 90s the original line wouldn't have gotten on air, but the writers still managed to have a little fun and hint at it. I'm getting kind of tired of everyone taking metaphorical dumps on the original dub. It wasn't the best product, but if it didn't exist, a lot of people wouldn't even be fans in North America. So at least give it that credit.
Yeah, I haven't seen Sailor Moon in over a decade and I watched the dub. I've never gotten into the habit of thinking of the characters by their Japanese names.
Sailor Jupiter is what got me into anime in the first place.
Guess I'll be staying away from Crystal and here then.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Well, I started with the dub, and then years later read the new manga reprints that came out like a year ago. And after that, I finally watched the anime in Japanese, so to my brain, the dub and sub names are near interchangeable. If I'm not paying attention when typing, I'll even accidentally substitute their Japanese names for the English ones and vice versa.
And I liked Crystal because I liked the manga as its own continuity and seeing it in animated form with cool transformation scenes. It's not a crime to dislike it, but I don't see the point in comparing it to the old one. It's kind of unfair to both versions. But that's just my opinion.
Sailor Jupiter's line along with Mars narmy death (or "capture") in the eng dub just further angered me with how terrible the dub group was. Fuck them.
Also I can only ever identify the Sailor Senshi by their japanese names. I couldn't give two shits about their english names. They're terrible.
@Scorpio Rat
lol wut? Dude you familiar with Thundercats old version? They were able to mention the word "death" numerous times and characters died on-screen (they weren't graphic but death nonetheless). How they had problems with bringing that stuff in is simply headache inducingly bad.
"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenDude, chill out. Was Thundercats marketed to little girls? No, it was a show primarily directed at boys in the US, so it had different standards for what could be shown. Not to mention that Sailor Moon was an anime and not produced here, so it had an entirely different set of rules to adhere to. And I never said the dub was good quality. It wasn't, but it did expand the fanbase by introducing the concept of Sailor Moon to people who had no access to the original content during the 90s and early 2000s, like me and some other people.
I'm just asking you to not be so incredibly harsh to the point of near bashing.
I'd say less introducing the concept of Sailor Moon, and more introducing the concept of anime. It's one of the most significant gateway anime series.
And that's not near bashing. It is bashing.
Check out my fanfiction!@Scorpio Rat
Aye, chief I am chilled out. I'm more bashing Sailor Moon than I am's you. I likes you! (No homo)

"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenLast I recalled I can talk about either the old series or remake if I want to in this thread.

"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenOf course.
You should give better reasons why the new series sucks, in spite of the anime in the 90's often having dated animation even for the time, out of place comedy moments, and badassery that was in the manga being almost completely erased (Sailor Venus had a sword in the manga, for instance).
Watch SymphogearChances that sooner or later this would turn into the equivalent of an FMA 03 vs. Brotherhood debate: 100%

@Handsome Rob
I'm not the one being confrontational
(points at Demongodofchaos2)
I'm allowed to state my opinion no? This guy (DGC 2) also same dude who complained about people (justifiably) smack-talking Naruto and believed there should be a complain thread.
EDIT:
The new series/manga the lack of struggle between the senshi and villains sucked. Also the Senshi were lousily killed in the Sailor Stars arc. Fuck it.
The original anime had moments of sweet bumps in animation.

Point about the manga, but we can't tell about the new anime yet since at this point Usagi hadn't interacted with the actual enemies in the original anime either. I suspect the 26 episodes schedule is meant to add more interactions between them, since the manga's first arc would barely fit a 13 episodes season.
I wouldn't be surprised if they limited the arcs to like 3-4 episodes.
"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenNo, that's all but impossible to do.
Woah, that's ridiculous. Like, manga arcs? C'mon, that's extremely stupid to do and makes no sense to rush the plot even more than the manga did. The anime doesn't have a time constraint like the original author did.
I believe it's the same cast that will be for Sailor Moon Crystal, too.
