WHO@50

For discussions about our hopes and dreams for Doctor Who's upcoming fiftieth anniversary, seeing as what with the season still being on the subject has potential to clog up the main thread and in fact already has.

So, go wild. Fuck budget and logistics, just what are your balls-out crazy ideas for how the fiftieth season should play out? (Besides showing the Time War.)

(Oh, and besides just having 8-11. It's surprising how many people on other boards seem to want the 50th to celebrate just the last seventeen years on account of other people being, and I quote, "old and boring and shit.")

Speaking of which, liposuction for the lot of them.

Colin doesn't look that bad.

I demand that this show actually go beyond the impossible and have the fight throughout time, space, alternate dimensions and his own mind simultaneously.

This is an excuse to showcase every monster ever getting defeated by the Doctor in every place at once.

The plot's going to have to be a bit of a Mind Screw, but that's actually going to be a part of the plot; The Doctor will have to find a way to not get lost in all these conflicting realities. Also for various reasons (time warp, space warp, projection, actually being there in person) his allies are scattered all over the patchwork battlefield and aid all of them end up helping him along the way.

If budget is no object then enhancing look-alikes with special effects and sound alikes to make them even better shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah. Poor guy, especially since he was a Promoted Fanboy and remains so. He should be in the 50th if only to undo the damage done during his era. The audios have gone a long way towards that, but those are kind of niche.

OK, so I haven't watched almost any Classic Who or even the TV movie yet. But I'd quite like to see Eight. Especially if it means seeing Eight regenerate into Nine.

That would be nice.

My old roommate really wants to see Mc Gann, Eccleston, Tennant, and Smith in the anniversary, and then Mc Gann regenerates into Eccleston (leading to two Ecclestons for a few minutes) in such a way that he realizes what he has to do to end the Time War and excuses himself.

He probably regenerated when he realized that nobody was taking him seriously.

Doctor: "No, seriously guys. I have the Moment. I swear that I'll kick the entirety of Gallifrey out of time."
Rassilon: "That's nice Doctor. Now, why don't you go style your hair. The big boys are talking. Talking about how to blow up time."
Doctor: "Why does nobody ever listen to me? Do I just have hair that nobody listens to? Again? Bugger this for a game of soldiers." -shoots self and regenerates into 9, pulls leather jacket out of emergency leather jacket dispenser-
Doctor: "You had your warning, now I'm going to blow oop Gallifrey."
Rassilon: "Oh shit!"

Just had a (possibly) great idea: one of the previous Doctors regenerates... into someone different than we expect! The only problem is that it could be seen to slight the one he's supposed to be next, but it would open up a plot about why his regeneration was different, and allow an exchange like this,(let's say it's Six to !Seven, because I get an extra continuity joke:

The Doctor (any new Who):"What just happened?"
Not Seven: "I regenerated, of course."
The Doctor: "Well of course, but... who are you again?"
Not Seven: "I thought we established that I'm you."
The Doctor: "Yes, but... I know my own faces, and you're not one of them! You're sure you're not Commander Maxil?"

We all know that the real reason is that the ratio of Sexy sexy sex scenes to actual plot would be horrible unbalanced.

All the irrationality of his silly move was forgotten as they took in his short hair and leather jacket and realized anew that he was nobody to mess with.
