Scenes with child actors playing younger versions of the leads tend to be pretty bad, the X-Men First Class Xavier/Mystiqud meeting was the most recent example of this I've seen. They're often unecessary, but if they really feel the need to include it maybe have a little bit more of a search for good child actors.
The court scene from Iron Man 2 was horrible, I'm convinced this is tge real reason why less people like this than the first one. The scene is meant to help set the tone of the movie, and it creates the effect of the entire beggining of the film being subpar, only when you get half way through did I realise that only that one scene was truly bad. The improvised feel of the Iron Man films just does not work in a courtroom setting, with the exception of Stark they should all be speaking much more formally. No credibility in that scene at all.
Am I a good man or a bad man?I feel the court scene was only included to give Garry Shandling a cameo. An even worse scene in the film was Bill O'Reilly's cameo (really, we needed an annoying host from an uncredible channel to spout off misogynistic comments?).
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I was never impressed with the Stane/Stark fight in Iron Man. The movie was cranking out awesome by the gallon and then comes this totally lacking fight scene.
BTW, I thought the court scene in Iron Man II was one of the better parts of an otherwise lacking movie.
It was an honorIt's been mentioned on the page for Se7en, but yeah the ending was more narmy than depressing.
I never laughed so hard in my life when Mills started saying "OH GOD" like someone farted.

Mills has to pay for his pizza.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I never had a problem with that scene.
I can totally see why others would, though.
lol, made me cry a little

Geoffrey Lewis plays Orville as a complete idiot in Every Which Way But Loose, which isn't a problem in most scenes. One, however, requires him to suddenly reveal a charming side with which he seduces Echo. Lewis did this so badly that I thought the scene was leading up to Orville getting slapped, not to Echo agreeing to follow Orville.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulAragorn, Gimli and Legolas going deeper into the mountain of the dead, the scene in which they find themselves to be stepping on skulls and Gimli finds that the best way to deal with approaching spirits is to blow them away.
I mean, it's funny, but it feels a touch awkward and out of place compared to the rest of the movie.
Also, the infamous drinking game.
Yeah, Gimli has no dignity whatsoever in the films.

Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens. Also, it gets it wrong with the drinking. In The Hobbit, a couple of elves get completely shitfaced. That's important because it allows Bilbo to enact his plan.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchOr maybe Legolas just handles his liquor really well.

Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens. Not a great movie but I couldn't find a place to put it anywhere else:
Any scene with the daughter in Contagion. In a movie with great acting, this whiny, one dimensional character turns out to be the main fault. Shut up about not getting to attend the prom, everyone in the world is dying!
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Whenever I saw Gimli in the film, I couldn't help but think "there were no Negroes, so they had to find a replacement". As I remember the books he was slightly less serious than the rest, but never that silly.
"Atheism is the religion whose followers are easiest to troll"I'm pretty sure Legolas only drinks one cup-thingy-worth in the time it takes Gimli to go through at least half a dozen. Legolas then proclaims himself the winner. Pretty sure that's not how a drinking competition works.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableThe fangirls would have complained if he lost.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/No fangirls for Gimli? I am sad.
Well, the elves are the wisest of all beings, and since Gimli isn't going to object...
Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.The scene in The Empire Strikes Back where Chewie fights with Ugnaughts, who are basically a cross between pigs and munchkins, over Threepio's parts. It's simply too comical that this ultimately clashes with the overall serious nature of the movie.
"I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you."
HEY I liked that scene!
I didn't care much for the scene where Scarecrow gets tasered on a horse though,..that was lame
Luminous beings are we, not this crude matterThe otherwise excellent Carlitos Way has Al Pacino seriously botch one line in a big way, at least in my opinion:
"Dave - is - A FRIEND... GAAAAAAAIL. Ah Owe 'Im... It's who I am!"
This one was so bad it's good for Star Wars Fans....
Ankain as Darth Vader: Noooooo...!
"The Horn of Protection is here for you, Timmy!" - Hank the Super Cheese Loving Rhino Guard from Fairly Odd Parents
One scene like this would be called Dethroning Moment Of Suck. Now most of those are in bad movies, but every once and a while a director might overlook the acting quality in said scene.Or maybe it's a Big-Lipped Alligator Moment. Either way it brings down a blockbuster
Well I really like Star Wars Episode VI,but after watching the third I can't stand the scene where Luke asks Leia about their mother. What used to be sentimental in a fast film now feels like a big slowdown in an epic.
Batman Returns was pretty good to,but I never cared much for the Ice Princess, even when she died it brought the whole thing down a notch.
And finally as good as Return Of The King and PJ's trilogy in general was,I absolutely hated the part where Gollum frames Sam and Frodo tells Sam to go home. Not only did that make Frodo an asshole, but it implied that treating anyone ugly with respect meant dire consequences. It also ensured that the film would have to go on too long.
Whether its great or not is subjective though
