Don't know what that other link was about, but eh...
Not sure if skeptical or just disgusted...
I was actually getting my hopes up until the trailer tried to introduce humor.
....
you honestly thought there would be NO HUMOR in a modern-day, CG, Dr. Seuss movie run by Hollywood execs?! Ha.
And besides, weren't Seuss's stories already kind of humorous to begin with?
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/He's got a point though. The Lorax the book has zero humor, as far as I can tell. However, it is just as whimsical as his other stories.
Oh, there's lots of humor, but it tends to come from funny names, weird situations, and bizarre illustrations.
Am I the only one who thinks this trailer looked really good?
Especially the graphics and coloring.... @____@
Also, Danny Devito, IMO, is a good fit for the Lorax.
I do. -hugs-
Same here!
I seriously can't think of any clever joke.Devito will be the one reason to see it.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/If this would be a good film. Forgive me for judging this movie before it comes out.
Looks great
Never tell your problems to anyone...20% don't care and the other 80% are glad you have them.Wow, the animation's great to say in the least. A huge step up from their last bucket of bile.
For all the animation's worth, everything else besides De Vito is looking awfully mind numbing. At least the last joke they shoved down in the trailer was genuinely amusing? They pretty much poo-poo-ed the entire message of the story by having mechanical plants and somehow be able to maintain a working ecosystem that's not filled with smog and a general lack of Oxygen. I mean, there was a reason the suburb was a complete sunlight depraved, polluted dump in the book. Plus, they gave the Onceler a face. I don't know where to begin to tell you how that is the worst decision to make. Going off of the trailer, there already are a lot of good indicators that if you're okay with a half assed (or in this case, barely assed) adaptation, then you'll be perfectly keen with this. If they wanted to do something colourful then they should have picked something along the lines of a Wocket in My Pocket or Hop on Pop... I guess. They've exhausted most of the stories that had an actual plot unless they want to pull out The Sneetches. In fact, they would probably be more capable of pulling that off instead.
It's looking just as gaudy and bland as Horton. Hilarious (or sad in certain cases) enough, it was the best Seuss film in the entire decade. That didn't stop it from still being a cringe worthy mess. What can I say? Jim Carrey playing himself as an elephant wasn't fun. At all. Neither was the random anime reference or the idea that the film wouldn't be perfect unless you threw in every big name celebrity under the sun to voice act in the damned film (just like a Dreamworks flick! Shock and awe!).
Oh and Mr. Rotten, you'll like anything. Just like I'll be very hard pressed to like anything. I'm just making an observation is all.
http://www.longcriercat.deviantart.com I'm thirsty. Got any ink? Resident Pen Ward antagonist.I'm beginning to think that the worst part of The Cat In The Hat wasn't visible when it first came out - it lowered people's expectations to the point where they can say that Horton and this are good adaptations.
At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...For what it's worth, I haven't given up hope on this movie. Not that I seriously expect it to be good—just that I think it still has the potential to be good.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulSo the film was released a day ago. What did you guys think of it? I thought it was decent. Also, there is a teaser for Despicable Me 2 shown in my theater, with the minions singing their version of the Beach Boys' "Barbara Ann".

"I have to kill fast and bullets too slow!"-John FreemanI find it surprising how polarized the critical responses are—the two camps seem to be "it succeeds because there's a genuine soul behind its high production values and padding" and "it fails because there's no genuine soul behind its high production values and padding." I have a feeling that if I see it, I'll agree with the critics who saw a soul, rather than the critics who saw no soul.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulI already posted my overall opinion in the other Lorax thread, but I thought it was okay. A solid theater experience, but not exactly memorable.
Hated the movie. Unfunny and padded with terrible songs and boring characters.
I'm also an anime blogger.
Only one thing in that entire trailer bugs me: Zac Efron.
The rest looks good, especially The Lorax himself
