I thought we had this discussion already, but it was the one you linked to.
Anyway, at 127 wicks and 69 inbounds, we have pretty much free ride to rename. Especially if this has been around for a while. Anyone know how old this is?
The Wayback Machine doesn't have any archives of that page, but I think I remember it being around when I started editing in 2007.
I vote for rename.
I vote rename as well. I guessed the trope, but only because of the hint that it wasn't the normal meaning of "Sign Language".
I suggest Talking with Signs.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.There is now a single proposition rename crowner for this trope here. Still, feel free to tell me if you believe it is too early for a crowner.
I think a rename is in order because like a trope title that refers to something common but means something much more specific, Sign Language uses a common term to mean something significantly different from its common definition.

"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dSince it's a Literal Name which is failing, we need to go for something more obscure. Yes, this one needs a Character Name instead!!! Wile E Coyote Signs, no wait, it needs to be an anime Character Named Trope. Genma Panda Signs, yeah...
Why is everyone staring at me with unbridled hatred now?
Oh, okay. Written Signs Instead Of Talking, that's the best I can do for a real suggestion. It's a bit wordy though. Maybe Non Verbal Dialogue.

How about Dialogue Sign?
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I had to smile when I saw the disucssion name. the usual suggestions for renames are to make them more literal (or far too literal as the case may be). Something more obsscure would be the neccesary distance between this trope and real life finger sign language.
Despite being a joke I like them, both of them.
If only there were a good pun we could use... if only "sign" had good synonyms for this definition!
Talking with Signs or Signs As Dialogue work for me.
Given the support for a rename, there is now an alternative titles crowner for this trope here. Feel free to add names as you see fit.
"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dPage moved, wicks corrected. The old name is now free for the actual sign language.
No discussion to move. Locking up
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Wait! Don't lock. Sign Language still needs dealing with!
We need to figure out where to redirect it to. Or if we should clear it to be an actual page for languages that are entirely hand signals.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI redirected it to Talking with Signs for now. It can be repurposed when someone is ready to make the actual page for "Languages made up of hand signals"

Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
All right, let's play another round of Guess That Trope with this one.
As noted by this discussion and the resulting YKTTW, we have a trope whose title would otherwise be ideal if it wasn't already used in the wider world for something else. As such, the trope title is non-indicative by virtue of being too literal and, therefore, misleading.
I'd like to propose that we rename this trope to Literal Sign Language or something similar so that we can free up the namespace for an actual page on Sign Language.
