Agree with the pull. It's a good example of Scary Shiny Glasses, though.
First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things.Thirding pull.
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.I propose moving the pulled image to Scary Shiny Glasses, since the one on that page is a higher-quality duplicate of the one on the Gendo Pose page.
Edit: Huh, it's already on the imagelinks. Nevermind then.

Oh, good point. I didn't realize that one was a duplicate. I'd be fine with that.
Edit: and it got added to image links yesterday.

How about Boromir, with the One Ring?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
Oooh, I like the idea of using LOTR but (dare I speak of such horrors) not everybody will get it. Any images of Boromir or Frodo looking at the Ring would just make it look like they're getting obsessive. How about that scene from Return Of the King when Gollum is convincing Frodo Sam is trying to steal the Ring? I don't think it counts as an example but it looks exactly like that. I shall go and watch the film again to-morrow.
Gah, wrong house. I'm thinking of the scene when they're climbing up the steps and Gollum wraps his arms around Frodo's shoulder when Sam is struggling to climb up. He looks nothing short of evil so I don't think the image could be misunderstood.

There may well be a better shot of Boromir than that one. I'd be frankly surprised if there isn't. Unfortunately, that's the one that's all over GIS.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I don't feel quite confident enough to pull off that many edits perfectly, but I could try. Should I open a separate Image Pickin's thread for captions?
No need for a separate thread for captions.
There should be a thread for discussion before the actual swap is made on Scary Shiny Glasses.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Yeah, no, that picture of Boromir doesn't tell me jack shit, being someone who hasn't seen or read LOTOR...
I am now known as Flyboy.I got a copy of ROTK so I'll see what I can pull by to-morrow.
Hey, I figure, once I publish the one high fantasy novel I want to do, and its sequel, I'll read LOTOR and see the movie. (In that order).
Until then, I won't, because then I can't be accused of directly copying Tolkien. Anything he did that I did independently as well is news to me.
I am now known as Flyboy. The Boromir scenes are in Fellowship, I believe. There might also be a good shot during the Council, when he's arguing that he should be the one to take it. I don't know.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Pfft, every fantasy story one way or another has a strong relation to Tolkien's work. It's not like they stole anything... so... you're "stealing" from people who "stole" from him. If you want to look at it that way. But, really, Tolkien took a lot of inspiration from folklore. Things to note: watch the Extended Versions of the films (because they're less bad) and read the Hobbit before you read LOTR. The nerd inside me says you must read all the History of Middle Earth books as well... I'll be here all day.
I'll go through Fellowship as well and see what I can pull out but I do have an itching feeling it will all end up Just a Face and a Piece of Suspicious Jewellery.
EDIT: Nah, poo it, Frodo doesn't count as an example and Boromir is always just a face. <.< I'm out of ideas.

Clock's ticking.
I'm going to start clocking these old threads again...please don't jump the gun and bump something unless there's some good discussion in it.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No further action is to be taken based on this thread.
Motion To Pull
Doesn't show anything, looks vaguely evil to begin with and he's happy (vaguely evil happy...) when the description says it's usually a gloomy character.
I think any image that's exactly like The Corrupter would work if I'm honest.
