I should note that the only reason I don't have anything to say is because I saw the question about why they entered coming since last week.

I thought this was a decent chapter, if only because of Joshua's declaration.

The questions were rather boring though.

What so no one else thought it was funny that the the Emma clone's physical difference was so obvious? I also liked the call back to when Emma climbed into Shion's bed like their first night together.

Is anyone else waiting for the kiss that Rosetta gave Emma and Shion to be used against them. Other than the comical awakening that they had after it?

Also I wonder if they really have to win the tournament. Like if they lose Shion is just going to rob the winners.

Theoretically, those two guys who wanted the genie could just hand over the house afterwards.

Yeah and the two who just wanted to sell the thing anyways. Shion is really rich.

So apparently the first volume sold really well. Enough that they reprinted it. I wonder if that is enough to off set it's bad weekly rankings.

Double Arts was doing extremely well in its volume sales, so much so that it got an Omnibus printing.

It basically depends on whether or not the editorial department makes the same mistake I read about them doing with Double Arts - altering it to appeal to younger readers, which didn't work and alienated everyone who actually liked it at the same time.

I hope that they just decide to move it to Jump SQ if they feel it needs to do well at both rankings and volume sales.

Well so long as it continues it should be fine. Honestly I can really see younger kids liking this series.

What's jump sq?

Well so long as it continues that would be great although I would prefer this series be weekly.

Didn't know that Claymore was in jump. I enjoy that series.

Jump SQ also has an older readership, around the 17 mark. That would give this series a more... proper demographic. Just like how To Love Ru was only surviving in Jump from volume sales despite being at the bottom, the volume sales are generally older fans only, while the reverse tends to be true for the ToC rankings surveys.

So, if magico really is doing well in volume sales, it must be doing well among the older crowd, and would likely do well in Jump SQ. tongue

I honestly wouldn't mind too much, since then it wouldn't be on the chopping block.

As long as it continues I don't care how often a new chapter comes along I really want to find out what happens

I thought he might of been from a rich family, but I didn't see a ritual like that coming.

Infant Immortality averted.

I also like how the jokes about him being unable to do his multiplication tables see a lot Harsher in Hindsight now.

I think that the ritual bringing down all of his stats is the reason he is Black Mage. Since he has strengths his magic can go anywhere.

I'm not entirely sure that those 10 children are necessarily dead. We never saw them actually die. My theory is that Shion refused to let the children be sacrificed and deliberately caused the ritual to fail to save them. I doubt Shion's mother would have done some half-assed ritual if it had any chance of failure

Admittedly, Infant Immortality was broken when that 4th brother died but it still seems suspect to me.

Yeah I shouldn't write off the kids just yet, but I'm about 75% positive that they are dead. Now I do think that Shion somehow did mess up the ritual though. It just wasn't enough to save the kids. It just left him crippled.

I think there's an equal chance of the kids being alive as opposed to being dead. For me I wouldn't be too surprised if they are dead but am leaning more towards them being alive. I'm sure the flashback will be revisited sometime in the future.

I think there are pretty good odds of it being next chapter. Shion doesn't look like he's happy about that last thing. Also her life really sucked if her most significant day was giving bread to Shion.

I always thought it was her, or rather her power coming about on her 16th birthday that freed her. Though I have also thought that it was the power of Echidna that created the brambles and knight in the first place.

As for the chapter I have got to say the backstory was welcome and I did not really expect that, can't wait for more info on Shion he really is an interesting character.

[up][up]That could be. The magic was created to protect her until the power could be harvested.

I'm still liking how Shion is 100% determinator and his special traits make him worse than the average man.

didn't Anise say that the only thing a mage needs is strength? like back in chapter 2? if Shion is really weaker than average he must have had a really hard time with those rituals, especially the broom magic even more than we thought
